Firefox 3.6.15 status bar missing

My status bar is missing. Using FF 3.6.15. View>Status bar is checked. I have Windows Vista.

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the status bar and scroll bar fall off at the bottom.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

  • Excel x86 2013 status bar missing in SAP

    Hello,
We are using SAP GUI 7.3 patch 7 and Office Excel 2013.  With this combination, the bottom status bar in Excel does not display. I tried to apply some corrections, but I do not successful.
My problem is similar to that: Excel 2010 status bar missing in SAP
    Anyone can help me?
    Thank you for everything.

    Hello Douglas,
I checked this with the standard demo program
SAPRDEMO_SPREADSHEET_INTERFACE and unfortunately this is a limitation of the SAP inplace
    mode.
This issue can be replicated outside of SAP by using the FramerEx application by Microsoft which
    can be downloaded for free.
You can download this from here:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/vc60pro/mdi/1/win98me/en-us/framerex.exe
If you use this program and use the File -> Open and select any valid .xls file,it will open in the same manner as the inplace mode in SAP
You will notice the status bar is missing in this case too.
This is the same technology that SAP use to display the inplace files.
    Best regards,
    Jude

  • Status bar missing in Firefox 6.0, also Real player does not function with updated version, had to switch back to 3.6

I've installed Firefox 6.0 about 3 times and each time I noticed that the status bar at the bottom of the page was missing. I relied upon the Norton Security "lock icon" which in version 3.6 would appear in the lower right hand corner of the status bar before signing in to websites or making transactions and found it very helpful. It was present in version 3.6 but not in 6.0. When I went back to 3.6 I suddenly had problems with the page freezing up so returned to 6.0 which corrected the problem but was not comfortable without the icon. I contacted Norton and via remote access the tech determined that the problem exists with Firefox's 6.0 version so he reinstalled 3.6 for me. Also I have a paid subscription to Real player Plus and it does not function with 6.0. I'm concerned because it seems you will soon phase out 3.6 and I will be without these functions which are important to me.

I have a solution! Follow this link and download the older version. When I installed it, everything came back as it was before! Yay! Good luck to you all. And bad move, Mozilla, in not making it clearer what the system requirements were for the update!!!!

  • Status bar missing. How do you know if a site is secure without the status bar?

Found the status bar at bottom of page very useful. Its now missing. How can I tell the downloading progress and more importantly if a page is a secure site? Live in a rural area with slow internet service and both download speed and security is very important to me. Security is VERY important, as do a lot of banking and bill paying on line. Saw someplace in questions and answers that the "Status Bar" was dropped in version 4. It was working for me up through 4.0 Beta 4, but not in Beta 7. If I missed the news please let me know and also how do I tell if on a "secure" page now? Is there an "add on" that will give me the "Status Bar" back?

I have the same issue, i miss the fact that i cant watch my downloads in the status bar. as for the secure lock symbol, i found once i visit a secure site e.g HSBC website. a big green bar appears in the URL. any news post back.
    cheers

  • Where is the blocked pop-up indicator now that the status bar is gone?

In Firefox 3, we had this:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Pop-up%20blocker?s=pop-ups&as=s
When blocking a pop-up, Firefox displays an information bar, as well as an icon Popup-blocked-en-win.png in the status bar.
Firefox 4 BETA, the status bar is gone. How do I easily add a blocked pop-up to the exclusion list so it will open in the future?

Thanks for your reply to this question. I believe that "show the blocked pop-up" ''was'' an option in FireFox's built-in popup blocker. As the OP mentioned, it is listed parenthetically on the [[Pop-Up Blocker Help Page|Pop-Up Blocker Help Page]]. Also, I don't run much in the way of add-ons and extensions, and no extensions were disabled when I updated this morning, but nonetheless the option seems to have disappeared. Since this problem doesn't have many "me toos," maybe it only happens under specific circumstances?

  • I have firefox 3.6.18 and status bar is gone.how to get it back. Thanks

I have updated java to version 6-update 26,updated Avast antivirus version 6.0.1203 and windows updates KB915597,KB2545698,KB2541763, in the past 24 hours and just realized no status bar. I have restarted firefox and windows a couple of times but still no status bar.Any suggestions? Thanks

Are you talking about the Firefox status bar at the bottom of the Window where you see link urls when you pass mouse over a link.
Is the window too low ''on the screen'', like are you missing the bottom of the vertical scroll bar, or the rounded corners at the bottom of the window. If so move or resize the window
    * drag window by title bar at top window
    * resize window, by dragging edges of window, and then move window up.
    * use "Alt+SpaceBar" and chose "Move" you may also need to resize with "Size:"
Perhaps an extension or a style to control which toolbars are shown when such as always, in full screen view, when maximized.
If still no solution try Firefox Safe Mode. If it works in safe mode than an extension or an extension setting is almost certainly the cause.
:when the dialog comes up don't change any settings go directly to the "Continue in Safe Mode" button.

  • I would like to know if it's possible to bring back the status bar in Firefox 4 without having to install any addons.

Does anybody know how to bring back the status bar in Firefox 4 without having to install any addons? The reason why I ask is that for some reason, when Firefox 4 was made available to the general public to download, Firefox 4 was missing the status bar and also the save and quit message was turned off by default. I got the save and quit message turned back on but I just don't know if it's possible to bring back the status bar without any addons.

    Please read this article:

Your code is absolutely unreadable - even if someone was willing to
help, it's simply impossible. I do give you a few tips, though: If you
understand your code (i.e. if it really is YOUR code), you should be
able to realize that your minimum and maximum never get set (thus they
are both 0) and your exam 3 is set with the wrong value. SEE where
those should get set and figure out why they're not. Chances are you
are doing something to them that makes one 'if' fail or you just
    erroneously assign a wrong variable!

  • How do I enable some scripts to run in some programs/websites and what happened to the status bar of my Mozilla Firefox 4?

Well, first of all, I was tying to create a web-based computer game in Notepad in H.T.M.L., C++, and JavaScript codes. But when I tried to open the completed product, Firefox only came up with a blank page. What do I do with this? And also, I unwittingly removed the "Status Bar" on the bottom side of my browser(the one that always says "Transferring data from/to..."), and when I tried to bring it back up, I couldn't because I don't know how, since I'm new to Mozilla Firefox 4. If you could help me with these problems, Then I would greatly appreciate it.

You can install the Status-4-Evar extension to regain some functionality from previous Firefox versions that was lost with the removal of the Status bar.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" after you have installed the Status-4-Evar extension and drag the items (Status Text, Progress Meter, Download Status) upon the Add-ons Bar (View > Toolbars > [X] Add-on Bar)<br />
Also check the Options of Status-4-Evar in Firefox (or Tools) > Add-ons

  • Scroll bar missing on opening any website in firefox nightly 38.0a1

Vertical Scroll bar missing on opening any website in firefox nightly 38.0a1

On Mac the scroll bars can be hidden and only have them show when you scroll the page so you can see the current scroll position.
The idea is that a touch pad is used that doesn't require the scroll bars to be visible and thus have more screen estate for the browsing area.
You can make the scroll bars always visible:
System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bar > Choose "Always"
You can try to delete the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

  • In Firefox 2.0+ you can go to Advanced JavaScript Settings and check a box to allow scripts to change status bar text. How do I do this is Firefox 10.0.1?

In Firefox 2.0+ you can go to Advanced JavaScript Settings and check a box to allow scripts to change status bar text. How do I do this is Firefox 10.0.1?

Two items in the Advanced JavaScript window were removed as of the Firefox 4.0 version, but they are still available thru about:config .
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter. <br />
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''
Filter = '''dom.disable_window_status_change''' = double-click to toggle to '''false''' to allow websites to mess with status text.

  • Why is the status bar/ add-on bars missing ?

I recently refreshed my Firefox after 37 installed and crashed every time after. Once I loaded I added Status-4-Evar and the Bar is not showing up.
So I tried loading two other add-on bars Zero and I know several of of my add-ons use that.
YES i did the rename the localstore.rdf and xulstore.json and tried that step I tried also to disable extensions too to see it it would help and nothing.
So anyone know how to solve this?

    ''the-edmeister [[#answer-715398|said]]''
    <blockquote>
If you '''are''' using Classic Theme Restorer ''(as shown in your first screenshot)'', you don't need any add-on bar extensions and S-4-E really isn't needed either to get the Add-on Bar back.
All you need to do is enable the Add-on Bar via a right-click on the Titlebar or in View > Toolbars from the Menu Bar.
CTR and S-4-E so work together quite well, but not sure about installing any other Add-on Bar extensions with either - probably going to create a conflict.
    </blockquote>
Yes I tried disable then and removed them but the Status bar does not show.
Funny thing it does show when starting up Firefox and Closing they appear for brief moment. And it does show many of my add-on on the bar I need to use. :/
is there something blocking them or about:config option I need to change?

  • Hide firefox from Windows status bar

    i'm running Windows 7.
when i minimize firefox i would like it to not appear on the Windows 7 status bar but in the "hidden icon" box area.
is this possible or is this a request for the future?

Try this add-on to minimize Firefox to the "system tray" then set your Windows 7 preferences for the system tray:
    *Add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/minimizetotray-revived/
**I use the above add-on; you can also search at - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

  • Where can i see Yslow in Firefox version 29.0.1 as we were able to see it at Status bar in Firefox version 29.0.0?

I am not able to see YSlow at the status bar in Firefox version 29.0.1. Please let me know how can i make to visible. I've already installed YSlow.

Do you mean the add-ons bar at the bottom of the Firefox windows?
It was removed during the last update. In some cases leaving lots
    of icons homeless.
    Go to the '''''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ Mozilla Add-ons Web Page]''''' {web link}
(There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for an add-on bar.
    Many of us are using
    '''''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis)]''''' {web link}
Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).
This will restore many of the things the last upgrade took away.

  • I recently updated to Firefox (desktop) 6.0.2 & love it but please can you tell me an EASY way HOW I can I get the status bar to display at the bottom so I can see the status of my downloads, safe sites & that sync is either in progress or finished.

    Windows 7 64-bit
    Firefox v. 6.0.2
    Norton 360 v.5

Firefox has a status panel that shows you what is happening during page loading, and also shows the destinations of links when you mouse over them. The status bar showed that as well. You really do not lose that information. I found that I like the addons bar better than the status bar because I could put more buttons on it.
