• Firefox on linux mint won't load pages or takes forever to do so

Installed Linux Mint on my laptop. Came with Firefox. For a day or so it loaded pages quickly. Now it either takes forever or doesn't load them at all. I have a wireless connection with 5 bars (sitting within 3 feet of the N wireless router.) What's up? Tried running in safe mode. Made no difference. URL below is my home page but Firefox won't load or is sssssslow to load any page.

• Firefox 4.0.1 won't load pages until I move the cursor

Whenever I click on any link, the new page doesn't appear until I move the cursor around. If it takes a long time to load, I have to do this multiple times. This sounds like a minor detail, but it's a pain in the ass. Also, it means that it doesn't automatically check for new emails in gmail, so I don't know if I have a new email unless I check it manually.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in [[Safe mode]]:
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

• My Firefox on my laptop won't load at all how do I fix it?

It only loads home page. If I type in a site( EX: www.google.com) it doesn't load it. It only shows my home page. It just started this today.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

• Just installed Firefox, and the page won't load. It says unable to connect. Already deleted and reinstalled and followed some tips on the website. It's still not working? Help.

I downloaded Firefox 4 on another laptop without issue (it has windows 7). I downloaded it again on another computer (a lil older with Windows Vista) and it wouldn't open from the very beginning. I fixed the firewall as stated in the help section. I also updated the internet connection settings as stated in the help section. I also deleted and reinstalled it twice, but nothing still works. :-(

Did you ever fix this, because I am having the same problem

• Firefox 36.0.1 won't load my yahoo mail web page. It seems to load any other web page, just not the Yahoo. mail web page

I updated to Firefox 36.0.1 and now I cannot get Firefox to open up my yahoo.com mail page. Although the tool bars required some work to get them to look right again, and I had to update Adobe flash software to get videos to play with this version, everything else seems to work with this version of Firefox.

• Firefox 3.6.11 won't load

Tried to download update. Successful download and reboot. Error message that Firefox 3.6.11 didn't update.

Do you use McAfee Antivirus/Firewall/Security products? McAfee released a security update that is blocking Firefox 3.6.11. This should be cleared up with the next McAfee update.

• Streaming video won't load on two Thinkpads

Problem: Streaming video from two websites won't load on my T60 or X60; of the 5 computers I use daily, only my two TPads are affected. Having tried to troubleshoot this at several levels - I'm wondering whether there is something about ThinkPad proprietary software that could be the cause?
The two sites in question are Flash based: the New York Times, and bloggingheadstv.com/diavlogs/. Flashplayer 10 is installed properly on both machines (and has been uninstalled / reinstalled in attempt to solve the problem).
OS: Windows XP, SP2. Browser: Firefox, latest build (video won't load on IE6 or Safari either on these machines);
Internet Security Suite: Eset NOD32 (turning off firewall temporarily makes no difference);
Relevant add-ons: NoScript, Adblock. (Disabling them temporarily makes no difference).
Troubleshooting thus far: working with NoScript board on Mozilla, and the bloggingheads people at their site - no results.
Firefox error console turns up errors like these:

So...Help!
And thanks.

I have almost same problem in which I posted a thread about, and didn't get any answers. My videos show up in my library but won't transfer to my iPod. I get an error message saying: The iPod "Owner's Name iPod" cannot be updated. The required folder cannot be found. Also another one about the disc cannot be read from or written to. I only have 3 videos so I'm not too concerned because I can do without them but it's still a hassle. I am going to keep iTunes 7 and iPod 1.2 for now because that seems to be my only problem at the moment, instead of reverting back to previous versions.

• Pr0blems using igoogle themes on firefox,theme won't load

no matter which theme I choose from igoogle it won't load on firefox. it loads ok on IE and chrome. I also have no colour on gmail at all

I was having an issue with gmail after upgrading to FF4. Trying to load gmail, FF kept asking to save a file of type application/binary. The file itself was a .part file. Not sure what all this was about, but I deleted all gmail related cookies and gmail loaded and ran fine after that.

• Firefox 4 won't load Google-related Pages (e.g., iGoogle; Gmail) - Shows "301 Moved Permanently"

Firefox 4 won't load any Google-related pages for me. The only exception is that sometimes I can use Google search, otherwise no other Google-related pages load.
For many other sites, I receive either a "301 Moved permanently" or a "302" error message. I disabled ALL of my plugins to see if this would help; however, the pages continue to fail to load.
Any ideas on what's going on or what I can do to fix this? Otherwise, I am switching browsers!

• Firefox won't load parts of web pages or let me log into certain websites

I don't quite know how to really explain this, so I'll provide two examples of the problems I'm experiencing:
The first is that, whenever I go onto any of those Wikia sites, Firefox doesn't seem to load anything other than the main page content. By this, I mean that it won't load any "Recently edited/added pages" box or "Recently uploaded images" box on the right hand side of the page, nor will it open the Contents tab to navigate different sections of the main page content itself.
Another problem I'm having is logging in to a website I usually frequent. It uses Facebook, Twitter and/or Google+ to log in, and the site has recently started running on Flash and Silverlight. Up until a few weeks ago, I am unable to log in to this website for the same reason as the example above - it just doesn't seem to load after clicking to log in, yet the rest of the site is fully functional.
In regards to the former example, I did manage to do something with Java that managed to fix it, however when attempting to emulate the solution when it happened again, nothing happened. I'm unsure of what the problem is. Can someone help?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).
Check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).

• Firefox 3.6.10 update won't load on restart (tried many times) and exits after warning to restart again - how to disable warning so don't have to start twice every time I use Firefox?

I regret agreeing to download Firefox 3.6.10 update, as it is somehow corrupted, and will not load when I restart. Subsequently, every time I start Firefox, it warns "Update Ready to Install", then when I don't restart (if I restart, it won't load) it exits, and I have to start Firefox a second time. Then it works without the warning, but when I exit and start Firefox again, the warning returns and the cycle repeats. This is such a nuisance I have gone back (reluctantly) to Explorer. Is there anyway for me to get rid of this corrupted update and go back to before I downloaded the fateful update?

• Firefox slow to start and websites won't load?

Setup: Windows Vista. Firefox 4.0.1. McAfee Total Protection 2011. Wireless home network.
As of yesterday everything worked well. Tonight I am having problems 1) connecting to the internet - I have to reconnect to my router before it accesses the internet 2) Firefox either doesn't start or is very slow 3) when it does finally slow, all the websites eventually time out and won't load.
Last night I extended my McAfee - didn't have to d/l or install anything and earlier today my computer did some kind of update. The only way I can get any websites to open is to shut off the firewall in McAfee, then things seem to work fine but I don't want to leave it off for obvious reasons. Oh and I did set up a new Windows user profile for my kids but I don't see how that would really affect anything.
Is there some kind of setting I need to change? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

• Firefox won't load google image search results

Firefox won't load google search results. It will load the page of results with the thumbnails etc. but if you click any of them, just a loading spinning icon appears on the tab and it never loads.
I have tried:
Both logged in and out of google account,
All other areas of google work with no problems (news, shopping etc.),
Site working perfectly in Internet Explorer,
Running firefox in safemode,
Manually disabling all plugins and addons,
Clearing the cache and cookies,
Opening results in new tab just results in white page with web address but it never loads,
Restarting both my PC and router.
It's not been working for at least the past 6 hours. Last time I used it was about a week ago and it was working fine then. I've not noticed any problems on any other sites this week that I can recall.

Updating firefox to version 17.0 appears to have solved this.

• Firefox updated yesterday and now it won't load any webpages. Have reviewed articles on this problem and checked everything. Still won't load. All other browsers work fine.

Have checked firewall and network settings and compared to other computers running firefox. All is ok, but firefox won't load any webpages. This started immediately after it updated yesterday. No error messages.
Have been having problems with updates on serveral of our computers for a month or so. Previous problems have always been that firefox renames a file it needs by adding moz.backup to the file name and I have to search for the file and remove it. This time I'm getting no error messages.
