Firefox 3.6.19 will not load; instead, keeps endlessly downoading.

I have a 21.5 iMac (late 2010 model), running OS 10.6.6
It has 800 gigs of free space, 12 gigs RAM
I am presently running Firefox 3.6.16
I have been trying to download your lastest updates for weeks, maybe months now, but have given up each because the same thing keeps happening--when I click to download the update, it never stops saying "Downlading the update..." with the line indicator having a blue stripe moving endlessly across it (like an horizontal barber shop pole). There are also the words "Connecting to the update server..." under this moving, striped line.
I have no trouble being online. I am online often during a day. Is there some trouble with your server?
I am finally writing (1) because I finally have the time and remembered to do so; and (2) because I am getting so out-of-date with these updates I fear I have to return to Explorer.
Thanks,
C.T.

Here's the fix. Dump Firefox 3.6.13 and Re-Install Firefox 3.5.16. Problem solved.

  • My itunes store will not load i keep getting a blank white screen

My itunes store will not load when i click on the store a blank white screen will come up and only that

I have a MacBook Pro and it could be a really simple solution. I had the same problem after updating my iTunes. I finally got through to a guy at Apple who took the time to help me. I use Firefox everyday, but apparently the iTunes Store runs off of Safari. All I had to do was download the most recent version of Safari. Literally, that was it. So easy. • Firefox 3.6.15 will not load any webpages--BLANK PAGE only!

I just upgraded my Firefox to 3.6.15 yesterday, and upon restarting the browser, it does not load the homepage...or any other page for that matter. It loads a blank white screen even though the address bar has the proper web address. It will do this no matter what webpage you load.
I have updated my Java applet and Flash to the most current versions and this did not seem to help either.

I had already tried a reinstall before, but thanks for the suggestion. Starting FF in Safe mode did not help either.
XULRunner is specific to FF. Mostly found discussion about using the code in web pages when I used Google before posting.
When FF went from version 3.6.14 to version 3.6.15 this issue started. Please note the Error message and the version info I just mentioned.
    '''"Platform version '1.9.2.15' is not compatible with minVersion > =1.9.2.14 maxVersion < = 1.9.2.14"'''
'''The Platform was revved up from 1.9.2.14 to1.9.2.15'''
I could not find information on: minVersion or maxVersion much less how to change them in XULRunner.
'''''It is definitely a Mozilla FF issue'''''.
Avast sandbox is up to date and works just fine with everything else. More importantly it worked just before the update was installed.
The only reason I bothered with the update is because Mozilla touted it as a security issue and there was NO mention of any known issues with sandbox software.

  • TS1702 applications will not load just keeps saying loading

no apps loading just keeps telling me its loading but nothing happens
    please help !!!

See if any of these suggestions resolve your issue.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Firefox was hanging up, I uninstalled and downloaded firefox 18. It will not load, says I have to remove older versions which I have done several times

I can't load firefox 18. It asks if I want to uinstall older version if you answer no it dumps you out. If you answer yes it reboots and nothing changes

Please turn off the computer and turn it back on to see if it helps.
Also please try a clean profile.
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
#Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the [[Uninstall Firefox from your computer#w_uninstall-firefox|Uninstall Firefox]] article.
'''IMPORTANT:''' On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do '''not''' check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox [[Profiles|user profile data]] will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
    * '''(On 32-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''
    * '''(On 64-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox''
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
#In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the '''Program Files''' folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the '''Program Files (x86)''' folder.
#Look for a '''Mozilla Firefox''' folder. If you find one, right-click it and select ''Delete'' and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • Firefox (or any browser) will not load one particular website. It shows NO error message, just remains blank

I have the site bookmarked and I try through google as well. Neither Safari or Opera will load this particular website for me. I had this problem in an internet cafe this summer but when i got home it seemed to go away, now it's back. No matter which way I try I cannot get it to open this website. i am using a Macbook pro. I'd rather not have to use an open DNS or google DNS just to open the site i just want it to work like it did before. Any ideas, please?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can remove all stored data from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar) or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove everything like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions from that domain, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.<br />
You can't recover from that "forget" unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

  • Pictures on Firefox add-ons pages will not load in Firefox but will in IE

My operating system is now Windows 7 on a new computer although I use Firefox, not IE to browse the internet. I am having problems on the Firefox website, especially the add-ons pages. If I click on any pictures relating to add-ons I get a blank page but if I switch to IE I can see the pictures. This is frustrating because I did not have this problem on my old, XP operated computer.

    See:

  • I have windows 7 and downloaded the latest version of Firefox and web pages will not load?

firefox opens but does not show websites

Hello jsilvestris, If you were able to load websites until you updated Firefox, your Internet security software (including firewalls, antivirus programs, anti-spyware programs, and more) is likely preventing Firefox from connecting to the Internet, see also for more info :[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/configure-firewalls-so-firefox-can-access-internet#os=win7&browser=fx17 Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet]

  • Firefox 3.6.13 will not load gmail standard mode under Mac OS 10.6.5. Must go to basic HTML mode. Why?

No problem with gmail basic HTML mode. But standard gmail standard mode hangs with the progress bar just short of the end. No problem loading standard mode in Safari 5.0.3.

This is '''still ''' happening routinely in Firefox 3.6.16 with Snow Leopard and 10.6.7 latest versions.
Have disabled all addons and the settings are as they should be (found many mentions of clearing cache and checking settings -- I'm in line w/ the rest).
This is happening on all 4 macs that I use.

  • Firefox opens, however, it will not load any web page. My internet shows that it is connected.

The internet connection is working fine, every other wireless device works in my house. Firefox loads, however, when typing in any web address, it blinks very briefly (you cannot see anything at all), then simply stays on the home page. No website wil load at all.

    Hi,
Thank you for contacting support. The Web address bar should be showing the url. Please try to start the browser in safe mode or disable any add ons or extensions to see if they are affecting the bar.

  • Why is the newest version of Firefox crashing constantly? Will not load or takes forever to load a page? I never had this problem before. This is very frustrating.

I think my question is very clear. Do I need to use another browser? I've been using Firefox for a long time. I don't have the time to waste.

This can happen if you've zoomed the page. That effects the screen dimensions as reported by JavaScript and seems to confuse Yahoo.
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
    *<b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)
