Firefox 30 will not open new windows maximized

I use Firefox on 2 machines, one at home and one at work. I updated both to Firefox 30.
My home machine, with Windows 7 opens new windows maximized.
My work machine, however, will not open new windows maximized. It will only open them at the last remembered window size. I have tried deleting localstore.rdf and this does not solve the issue.
The window will open maximized on Firefox 28 on the same machine.

My firefox browser will not open new windows in tabs, but it will do so when I am in safe mode, what should I be looking for?

I want to view new pages in tabs. I thought I had clicked the appropriate option to do so but it continually opens in a new window instead. I have restarted my browser in safe mode and the tabs are there and work normally. What gives? I am not sure how to narrow down the problem here.

My firefox will not open new windows. It opens new tabs. The problem is in the windows.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Firefox will not open new window, Why?

I have Vista home base premium operating system. I am a regular user of Mozilla firefox after had lots of positive feedback as one of the best browser. I had no problem for a good while, until recently I found out my add-on firebug stop working. Then I noticed that firefox stopped working properly, ie; it will no more open new window/s. One window will open after rebooting and i can have a number of tabs opened. When I right click on a web link and take the option to open it in a new window it will not open. When I take the option to open it in a new tab then that would be ok. When I go to the toolbar and click on File and chose option "open new window" again it will not open. I have on many accasions completely installed Firefox using the IObit software and use the advance system care to clean the registry and completely scan the system. I then reinstalled the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. I did that twice. The problem is still there. About the ad-on firebug, when I go to the toolbar and click on Tools, i can see Firebug with the extended arrow, but when I click on the arrow to the extended options, it simply would not respond.
There must something going on, please help.

Firefox will not open new window for websites that require it

I am running Firefox 3.6.16 on Windows XP.
For some time now, certain websites will just not work - for instance, when I use Mapquest, it used to open the new window when I clicked on "print" - that no longer happens.
Today, I was trying to use the eScrip online mall, and when I clicked on the store name, it did not open a new window - this was working fine back in December when I was doing my online shopping.
My suspicion is the new version has some kind of problem. does anyone have a solution for this?

I use MapQuest a lot but haven't used the PRINT option for a while. I just tried it and you are right, the PRINT does not open any window or even work. But if you change it to the NEW MapQuest, the PRINT function will work. I guess MapQuest has disabled the PRINT option in their CLASSIC version. Maybe they are trying to encourage users to use their NEW version instead.
If you still want to use the CLASSIC version, you can always copy the map and paste it onto a Image Editor program and print from there.

Firefox will not open new windows, opens with session restore every time I use it, and won't let me open the throubleshooting tab... Why?

Whenever I try to open a new window, nothing happens. This includes clicking ctrl+N and through the drop down menu.
Also, whenever I start firefox to browse the internet, it always open with a Session Restore with the previous session listed, even though I closed all the tabs and shut it down normally without any prompts telling me about saving multiple tabs.
Finally, when I tried to troubleshoot this problem, the tab never appeared. The only options that work on the Help Menu are:
- Firefox Help (after a few clicks)
- Report Broken Web Site
- Check for Updates
- About Firefox

CFGRID HTML named target will not open new window

I'm finally TRYING to make the move to CF8 and honestly I
love Cold Fusion but I encounter bug after bug without going crazy
trying to do things. I'd appreciate any guidance here.
In this case I am trying to switch over from applet CFGRIDS
to HTML CFGRIDS. Right off the bat all sorts of issues.
1) CFGRID HTML target does not work as expected. If you put a
named window in (e.g. gridpopup) you get an error message that it
doesn't exist. This is not the way the applet grid works in any
version including CF8. I don't want to allow someone to keep
opening up window after window in this case. This is a showstopper
as I have many cases where I need to do this.
2) A defined checkbox column displays true and false. Since
this isn't editable I can probably change it to Yes and No but come
on. This might be because I'm using a bit field in my Sybase
database ?????? Not sure if it works or doesn't with other field
types. Works fine with the applet cfgrid
3) This one can probably be styled away, I don't want the URL
columns underlined.

Will not shut down (must use Task Manager) & will not open new window

When I shutdown FF the FF window disappears, but a new FF cannot be started unless I manually end FF from Task Manager. When running I cannot "open Link in a new window" - nothing happens, but opening a link in a new tab works.
I am running FF3.6.13 on Windows XT. I ran antivirus software, so I don't think I'm infected. All other programs work fine. I deleted and reinstalled FF. I deleted FF and installed an older version. No luck.

Firefox 4 will not open any windows and I can not turn it off either.

I get a grey square at bottom left of my screen when I attempt to open Firefox 4. I have tried restarting my Macbook Pro and that has done no good. Any help would be wonderful.
Also if I have to delete the browser to reinstall how do I save my bookmarks?

I can press ctrl for a new tab but otherwise a new tab does not open. I actually need help regarding this new Synch which apparently will be in Firefox automatically in an upcoming version so I am asking how that will synch with people who use LastPass-of course because I use this very successfully and really am not eager to change the set up that I have in place at this time.
I have read through endless FAQ trying to find anyone else who has this question or concern but have found nothing. Can you please tell me how that service will get along with LastPass which does basically the same thing as Synch-it is probably spelled wrong as it looks wrong to me but if I click back to where this issue began, I will lose all of this question so please respond for the upcoming service synch.

It's strange. The problem apparently resolved itself after I ran TechTool on it. When I clicked on Firefox last night, I had no problem opening a window. Thanks for your help. (As to your previous post, the focus was on Firefox and neither the speed keys nor the menu bar would open a window or tab of allow me to enter a URL to open a window. Strange!)
