The left side of the address bar contains a button you can click to get information about that site. The button usually has a little mini-icon for the site and (if it's an encrypted site) the site's name. When you are on the site in question, click that button then click the "More Information" button on the dialog that appears. Alternatively, you can use the Tools menu and click "Page Info". Once you do that (either way) click the "Security" tab at the top and you will be able to click a button to view saved passwords for that site. Delete the incorrect password from that list. You can then log off the site and log back on to have Firefox offer to remember the new password.

HI again. installed and then uninstalled both Mackeeper and Blackberry with their software. Etrecheck still shows the same 'failed to load' error. Pasted below. Firefox is constantly hanging up my Macbook in the last week

I have a white Macbook, purchased in mid 2009. For the last week or so, I'm having trouble with Firefox hanging up my computer so severely that only a hard boot (power off) will get it out of the spinning color wheel problem. I'm super frustrated and am even having trouble getting the computer to start up now. This ONLY happens with Firefox.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Just updated to Firefox 29.01 it doesn't work at all. When i open it no sites will load it just shows the busy circle going around forever. It is unusable.

Firefox 28 was working fine, but when I was asked by a pop up upon opening firefox to update to 29.01 i found there were lots of security issues for 28 so i manually updated to 29.01 by going to "about, check for updates,etc." Once it downloaded 29.01, and told me to restart, I restarted firefox. When I opened it, I found it is unusable. It won't open a single website. It won't load my homepage. It has all my favorites from before on the favorites toolbar, but I can't go to anything. I closed it and tried to run cc cleaner as I always do, but I keep getting the message "firefox is taking too long to close would you like to force a shutdown" but the forced shut down doesn't close it either. I opened task manager to try and shut it from there, but firefox isn't showing up. I have no idea what to do. I am typing all this from Chrome b/c I cannot use the latest version of firefox.I've never had this happen before. I also ran it in safe mode and the same thing happened. Please help, and please answer in layman's terms, because I am not a computer expert. I took a couple screen shots I will attach. Actually i don't see anywhere to attach an image so I can't. I also don't understand the green "automatically add" button that is underneath this box on the mozilla support page. Also, when I went to the help, about page in the top corner of firefox just now to check the version it says "firefox is being updated by another instance." What the heck does that mean? I have Firefox instaled on D: disc because my system crashed and after reinstaling OS on C: disc i haven't insatled it but just just used old one just moved to D: disc.
So my only problem is that I wont to get a hold of unbackuped bookmarks in that Firefox, and then one can instal Firefox4.

I experienced this error updating from Firefox 3.6.13 to 3.6.14 and resolved it by doing a 'clean' install' as described. It occurred again in updating from 3.6.14 to 3.6.15 and this time a clean install failed to rectify it. (Anyway, I don't want to have to go through this every time.)

Over the last week my Firefox has been crashing whenever i close games and sometimes in the middle of them. What is going on??

I got a new rogers box and I had a Norton Security installed and since then the games like farmville and cityville have been crashing on a regular basis. I have called about the Norton 3 times, and i tried the Internet wireless and wired and nothing has changed so I don't know what else they can do. Is there something wrong with the flash player over the last week????

It seems to be a common complaint. Norton Security does not play nicely with Firefox (or IE).

Hello. My question is: Can I install on my PC two separate versions of Firefox, with separate cookies, history, options and everything?
Why do I need this: I'm using firefox as my main webbrowser, for e-mail, facebook, many different forums and so on. Now I started doing some surveys which requires me to delete my cookies like twice a day and it's really annoying to do that on the same browser that I use for my regular stuff.
I know that I can select which cookies I want to delete, but there're so many that it would take too long for me to select them.
So, long story short, can I have 2 separate firefoxes on my PC, with separate cookies that I can delete and they won't affect the other webbrowser?

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

I use Mac OS X, 10.5.8 to be exact. I haven't been using Firefox lately because it keeps 'hanging' on me. I get the turning, round, colorful ball which doesn't ever stop to let me quit or anything. I have to force quit. Doesn't matter what website I go to, it lets me do a little bit and then just hangs.
I've updated recently, hoping that would help, but nothing. There is a certain website I need to use that will only run on Firefox, rather than Chrome or Safari, which I'd rather use because of the Firefox problems.
I'm not sure what else I can do. In the troubleshooting section, it says to run Firefox in safe mode, but I can't do that. In the Terminal, I don't know how to use it.

Firefox is constantly hanging/freezing when I open a second tab since the new update.

Firefox keeps hanging/stalling to the point of no usability. "FlashPlayerPlugin_11_7_700_224" and "plugin-container" keep opening multiple times. (I have gotten up to 30 or so of each). I have not had a problem with Firefox for years until yesterday.
Safe mode did not stop it. I tried to update adobe but it gave me a "Host" window that said "Unable to load application configuration".
Also I cannot end the either of the two processes above from the Task Manager. I have to restart.

in it. I put that file here

Then I opened Firefox. I opened a yahoo mail account. I t quickly hanged and, in about 60 seconds, i had three each of
FlashPlayerPlugin_11_7_700_224
and
plugin-container (plugin-container.exe *32 to be precise).
Any further help will be greatly appreciated.

Firefox hangs when trying to play YouTube videos. Ending task starts the video and application, but the same thing happens when trying to view the next video. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Task Manager shows that Firefox is still running. Clicking End Task restarts the video playing and application running (then I have to cancel the End Task and Close Program processes).

Try uninstalling Flash Player 10.2 and install the previous version, 10.1.There have been a few reports of problems with Flash that have been solved by using the previous version. You can download the uninstaller for Flash, and get version 10.1 from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
The Adobe archive files contain multiple versions of 10.1 for all operating systems so is quite a large download, the old-apps lets you just download the Windows versions that you require - http://www.oldapps.com/flash_player.php
You can also try disabling hardware acceleration on Flash to see if that helps. If you can access any Flash content, right-click on it and choose Settings. In the first section of the settings is the option to enable/disable hardware acceleration.
