Firefox 31 installer extracts, then crashes

Long time user. New problem. V29 would not update, so I downloaded V31 full version (not the stub). Everytime I ran the installer, it would show the "Extracting" progress bar, then a windows message would appear: "Firefox installer has stopped working" and the follow report:

I've tried:
* Fully removing FF29, program folders, then the hidden /Mozilla/Firefox data folder
* Run Malwarebytes, CCleaner, restart (W7Pro64)
* Move the installer from network to local HDD
Any suggestions appreciated and TIA.

As noted earlier, FF has been fully removed - I can't run it in safe mode.
So I downloaded and ran all the programs. Windows defender wouldn't start, so I guess either MSE or some other ASW program was preventing it.
After all this, clean(er) PC, but FF31 still resolutely fails to install.

There shouldn't be any numbered sessionstore-##.js in the Firefox Profile Folder

The presence of such files usually indicates that that was a problem with accessing the main sessionstore.js file that prevented Firefox from renaming the temp file with the number. 
In this case you may be lucky that the file with the highest number may have that session. 
You can try to rename the file sessionstore-3.js to sessionstore.js to see if that brings back the lost tabs.
If you use the Time Machine then you can try to restore a copy of sessionstore.js from around the time that you lost that session.

Firefox locks up then crashes when I open the Tools-Add Ons page

Hi - Just updated today with automatic 6.0.1 update and once I did, Firefox killed Adobe Reader. I fixed that but then found that opening the Tools, Add-Ons page locks up Firefox for a few minutes, then crashes it.

Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. As for your problem, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Since upgrading to firefox4.0, my NVIDIA kernel mode driver frequently not responding, turning monitor black, then successfully recovered. The Firefox browser would then crash afterwards. Please help solve this very annoying problem.

I have the same problem. I just upgraded to Win 7, no problems. Then I upgraded to FF 4.0, and I kept getting Nvidia Video Card crashes. I always undo my last computer change/install when something like this happens, so I immediately uninstalled 4.0, and went back to my older version of Firefox. No problems ever since.

Firefox keeps freezing then crashing and a window opens saying "The Plug-In container for Firefox has stopped working..."

Every 5 minutes or so Firefox will freeze and if I'm on a website that uses the flash player the ads and what not will stop and an error thing replaces them and says Adobe Flash Player has crashed. Then a window pops up and says "The Plug-In container for Firefox has stopped working..." or something like that. Then my laptop will work slower until Firefox crashes. Any solutions ?

Firefox keeps freezing then crashing. I reset but it is still happening

I will open a new tab and go to a website. It will stall and I will get message saying there is a problem with a script on the page or a plug-in or a message saying that Firefox is running out of memory. It takes a long time to work through and sometimes only rebooting will get me going again. It isn't one particular website or time of day or anything. I did the reset but that hasn't helped.

Firefox installation does not initiate. Have tried different versions but the pop-up only remains for less than 1 second then closes down.

Firefox crashed without even opening the main window - just the apology pop-up appeared. Nothing I could do would open the programme. MS Fixit identified a problem with IE8 and put it down to AVG8 Link Scanner. I disabled this, and tried Firefox again. It worked perfectly for a time. Later, when trying to open Firefox, nothing happened - no crash pop-up, no navegation window - zilch. I tried to re-install the programme, but as soon as I execute it, the "Extracting" pop-up opens then closes immediately. I tried to uninstall Firefox using the Windows control panel, but this did not work - Error 21, whatever that is, then tried to reinstall again with the same result.The Firefox uninstall did work. I unistalled my AVG8 anti-vir and tried again - nothing. I downloaded an older version of Firefox - same result. Something is blocking any activity concerning Firefox and I am totally at a loss to identify it. Can anyone help, please?

Firefox installs, verifies extensions then becomes stuck, no will not open but will show on processes

Installed firefox 4, it installs fully then when I go to launch it, says that it is verifying extensions. Application times out and forces close, now when i try to open it, it won't load however it is showing in processes taking up a good bit of memory.

dyld is trying to load '@executable_path/../Frameworks/asneu.framework/versions/a/asneu'. The actual path on disk is '/Applications/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.app/Contents/Frameworks/asneu.framework/Versions/A/asneu'.
By renaming the directories 'Versions' to 'versions' and 'A' to 'a', Lightroom was able to execute. I haven't done much testing, so there could be other case sensitivity issues.

XP computer crashes when Firefox is open, then blames nVidia, but no blue screen appears.

XP Service Pack 3, with all updates
Firefox multiple versions, currently 15
nVidia 6200 with multiple versions of drivers
Deep Scan using Vipre with current updates, found no viruses.
Computer reboots unexpectedly, no blue screen, but on recovery, Windows reports there was a blue screen and nVidia caused it. However, without Firefox open, I've had no crashes. Sometimes Firefox can be open, but then crashes when one of several new tabs (sites) are opened, but cannot identify what site might be causing it.

Are you experiencing this issue with another browser? Can you update to the newest version at http://getfirefox.com ?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

With each use, Firefox freezes up and then crashes. How cai It be fixed?

Each time I use Firefox, it is extremely slow, freezes up and then crashes. This happens all the time! What can be done to repair this problem? I am getting very frustrated to say the least!!! Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Please get back to me.

AFAIK Youtube only requires Flash Player, not Shockwave Player.
