Firefox 32 loading firefox 64 plugins..

I followed the guide on archwiki how to install a 32 chroot and then I installed Firefox, and jre. The whole reason I did this is so I could have the java web browser plugin. Now I load up Firefox32 (I'm in it right now..)
and go to about:plugins..and theres no java plugin. But it did load my flash 10 plugin from Firefox 64..
After browsing for a bit I saw this output in konsole
/home/lib/i386/libjavaplugin_nscp.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory/home/lib/i386/libjavaplugin_nscp.so
..Any ideas?

I have Icedtea installed for 64, problem is the website I'm trying to use doesn't work correctly with it.
I went though the wiki again, I forgot to do "xhost +local:" and I also installed and used dchroot and it ran Firefox and Opera fine (before opera wouldn't start), and they both loaded the java plugin..but they both crash on the site
Ah well..at least I got half of it to work.

  • Every time I start up Firefox, it checks for plugin updates. All my plugins are up to date, but it continues to load the plugin site. How do I make it stop?

Starting on Fri. 6/10/11, every time I start up Firefox 3.6.17, it loads the plugin update site. Initially, it said my Adobe reader plugin was out of date. Therefore I updated that plugin, yet that did not fix the problem. So I was finally forced to disable the plugin. After doing this, the plugin updates check still runs every time I start FF. However, they all come back up to date.
So my question is how do you make this plugin update check stop running. I had made no changes to firefox prior to this.

There's a fault with the blocklist.xml file which was updated on Friday, it should be fixed on Monday and you should get the updated file on Monday or Tuesday.

  • Firefox hangs on plugin loading, not marked by OS as unresponsive, must be killed with task manager, works fine with other Windows 7 users on this computer.

I'm not sure what plugin is the problem but when the plugin_container process loads, firefox hangs and becomes unresponsive. Windows 7 doesn't recognize it as such, however, and I have to kill the process with TaskMgr.
The problem does NOT seem to be the plugin container itself because when I add the MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS environment variable to windows the problem still happens, just internalized to the firefox process.
Since I remote into the box a lot I have other users, all of which have no problems with firefox. It's only localized to the one user.

My suspicion is Flash, since that probably is the most commonly used plugin. Try disabling the protected mode feature, since that is currently being debugged. • Windows Media plugin for firefox loads but does not play

    Hi,
I am facing problems using windows media plugin on firefox as well as other browsers as well. I guess the problems would lie on the windows media plugin.
Few weeks back, I do not have any problems running windows media player on firefox, however I am unable to do so now. I am able to load the plugin but I cannot play it. I tried testing the plugin on the site below. Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
You can try to fully trust Firefox + its sub processes/files in the security software (antivirus and firewall). You can also try to '''Disable''' other possibly conflicting '''Plugins''' in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. You could also uninstall it from the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features and [www.interoperabilitybridges.com/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download reinstall it].

I never got this message until I loaded Firefox 4. Now I'm getting this message and it's a pain.

  • Firefox loads very slowly, other browsers run fine

Firefox has been loading webpages very slowly, whereas any other browser I use will load them much faster. I can even start loading a page in Firefox, open a different browser, load the same web page, see that it gets fully loaded in the second browser, close that browser, and swtich back to Firefox, and Firefox will not have the page visibly loaded yet. It is for this reason that I know the problem is not with my internet connection.
I use Firefox on my Windows 8 computer with no problems - it is actually one of the fastest browsers that I've used; I'm having a problem with it on a Windows 7 computer. I've tried several other fixes I've found on this site - disabling add-ons, starting Firefox in safe mode, clearing the cache, and enabling hardware acceleration. None of these have helped speed up Firefox. I'm no sure what else I could do at this point.

  • Firefox loads for approx. a week then stops working and has to be downloaded again

For the past month or so when I try to get into Firefox it will not load. I will download Firefox and it will work for a few days and then stop working again and I have to re-download again. If this doesn't stop I will try another web browser.

Are you using cleanup or security software that runs once a week that could be causing this?

  • Appscan Manual Explorer Firefox 17 ESR Plugin 602 fails to work on OSx

We recently upgraded our Appscan Enterprise Server to 8.6.0.2 (Fix Pack 2) in order for the IBM product to support Firefox on the desktop. IBM stated the upgrade will allow us to use Firefox 17 ESR, which is the highest supported Firefox version (Currently we use Firefox 19).
Firefox 17 ESR works fine if you are on a windows desktop with it installed. However, on OSx it does not work. The Appscan Enterprise Console requires the plugin and attempts to install, which it does, however Appscan continues to ask for it to be installed. So the plugin loads in FF 17 ESR, however the Appscan product apparently cannot detect it.
IBM Support claims that FF 17 ESR is not supported on the OSx platform. Our developers largely use OSx, not Windows. They certainly don't use IE ;).

The plugin support is interesting - here is a link to the IBM tech page on the Firefox 17 ESR plugin for Appscan:
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21623462
Any reference to platform is specifically about Appscan Enterprise, and not what OS the browser is running on when accessing the Console.
IBM Support said that it is not supported on OSx. This is fine, if that is the official position which I did not get from the context of our conversation. That is why I took a shot at posting the issue here, hoping that there may be some way to work this out.
