Firefox 34 Breaks Flash Player

I have Flash Player 11.2.202.424 installed and it has been working perfectly. However, upgrading from Firefox 33 to 34 breaks Flash Player. It is still enabled according to about:plugins, but the test page http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ no longer works and YouTube videos are now black boxes. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

My solution is to stop using Firefox until Firefox finds a fix for this problem.

  • Will Firefox Home allow Flash Player content on my iPad 2?

Apple and Adobe are not friends and, as a result, Safari will not allow the download of another browser; ie: Firefox which has Flash Player required by a great deal of media content. Can Firefox with Flash Player slip in the back door on Apple?

Firefox Home is not a web browser but a iOS app that allows you to sync with your desktop Firefox bookmarks, browsing history, and tabs. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/home/
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms
    iPhone/iPad/iPod
We have no plans to release the full Firefox browser for iOS. The iOS SDK agreement requires apps to use Apple's own JavaScript engine (or none at all, like Opera Mini which downloads pre-rendered pages from Opera's servers and cannot run JavaScript code in the client). Because of this, we have no supported way to distribute Firefox's rendering and JavaScript engine to iPhone users.
However, you can download Firefox Home for iPhone (can work on iPad), an iOS app that uses Firefox Sync to deliver Firefox bookmarks, browsing history, and tabs to your iPhone or iPod Touch.

  • I have Mozilla Firefox and Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in won't allow me to watch YouTube videos

Up until last week I had IE9 and was able to download and watch YouTube videos with my son and play Facebook games.  Then one evening I tried to pull up a Yo Gabba Gabba video on YouTube and the video window was blank.  I had watched this video the night before with him, and the only thing I can think of is there was a Flash Player update that tried to download.  I saw several posts that suggested downloading a new broswer, but I waited for 3 nights thinking it was just a glitch.  I finally gave up and sent a pm to one of my friends who is a Internet Service Technician.  She told me to download Mozilla Firefox, which I did, and the problem seemed to be solved.  I was once again able to download and watch YouTube videos, as well as play games on Facebook.  And it seemed my pages, pictures, etc. all downloaded 10x faster.  That worked until the next evening and suddenly I once again could not download and watch YouTube videos.
I checked my system and it found that Adobe had done an automatic update so that instead of just having Adobe Flash Player 13 Active X I now had Adobe Flash Player 13 plug-in.  I also noticed that Adobe Air was downloaded on my computer.  I went in and uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in and I was once again able to download and watch YouTube videos.  But when I tried to play games on Facebook I was told I would need to install at least Adobe Flash Player 10.0.2.  I went to find that or an older version but each time I tried to download from Adobe I would get the Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in version, and once again I was unable to download and watch YouTube videos.  I was, however, able to play the games on Facebook again.
Remember when I just had Adobe Flash Player 13 Active X I was able to do both while having Mozilla Firefox.  I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find recent articles that talk about this problem.  Can someone please tell me what I can do so that I can keep Mozilla Firefox, as it is 10X faster than IE9 and with Firefox my Facebook doesn't crash all of the time?  But I also want to have the ability to download and watch YouTube videos with my son, as well as the play games on Facebook.
I should also note each time I went to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in I received an error message saying there was a conflict with Mozilla Firefox and I first had to shut it down before the uninstall would proceed.  Also, I received a reply on Adobe's Facebook page from a Tech who had me check to see if I had the latest version of Flash Player.  I did have the most recent version.  He then asked me to go to my add-ons and enable Shockwave.  I followed the instructions and it was already enabled (or it said always activate).  Neither of those helped me be able to download and watch YouTube videos.  But I can still play Facebook games.

  • Firefox thinks Adobe Flash Player is not installed. It is and works fine with IE. Also fighting Firefox crashes when opening. Running system 7, 64 bit.

Firefox works in Safe mode. Narrowed the issue down to plugins. Don't have an Adobe Flash player plugin, but do have Adobe Acrobat and Windows Live Photo gallery (which I'm considering suspect).

There are two versions of Flash, the ActiveX version for Internet Explorer and the Plugin version for other browsers like Firefox.

  • Uninstalled IE with flash player, installed firefox and added flash player - doesn't work!

    Hey guys,
I have just used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove IE 9 (I think ... it's the standard built in IE taht comes with my Win7 Home Premium 64 bit OS).  I had flash player installed in IE.  Upon uninstalling all flash components from my computer using Revo, I did an "advanced" search to find all leftover registry entries and files/folders associated with Flash.  While doing this, Revo had warned me of some files that "have recently been added" (I believe since initial installation of Flash), and gave me the option of deleting these one at a time.  I cannot remember what these files included, but looking at a posting from another person, i seem to recognize some files that I *may* have deleted while removing with Revo:
    Flash10d.ocx
    Flash10e.ocx
    FlashUtil10e.exe
    GetFlash.man
    install.log
    swflash.inf
    uninstall_activeX.exe
(again, I have no idea if ANY of the above were the actual ones I deleted, but I seem to remember seeing a couple of these at least listed to me as options to delete)
I proceeded to remove ALL files from my computer.
Then, upon installing Firefox and, subsequently installing flash on it, I noticed that some flash websites load and work properly, whereas other ones don't.  I also been to the adobe confirmation page stating taht I have successfully installed and am running Adobe Flash player.  Is this simply a case of missing one key component in flash?
Before the entire uninstall mission I did, I remember revo as listing more than 1 Flash programs installed.  I believe I had seen two flash 11 programs installed in Revo, which I thought were just simply duplicate installations.  I vaguely remember one of them being listed as Flash player 11 and the other as Flash player 11 activex?  (both were removed off my system).
Are these files different and did I, in fact, need both of these installed?
Anyway, I have no idea where to go from here.  Help please!
    Thanks!

So what Flash Player version do you have currently installed?

What exactly do you see on sites that don't work?

  • Firefox not recognizing flash player 10.1.82.76 update

Hi, I have a problem installing the latest flash player update on my firefox browser. I got the the installer page (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) and I install everything and follow all of the instructions, and flash player installs successfully, but it says it installed version 10.1.53.64. I've tried uninstalling the previous version with the instructions on this page (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html) several times, but it still shows the flash player version on the site, which means it wasn't uninstalled. I've also tried using the stand alone installer after disabling the adobe getplus plugin in firefox, but it still shows flash player version 10.1.53.64 as my current version in firefox plugins. However, I installed the flash player 10.1.82.76 update on to Internet Explorer 8 without any problems, it's just Firefox that I'm having trouble with. Thanks for the Help.

  • Use stored login information from Safari/Firefox etc in Flash Player standalone? (Mac)

I play a flash game called FFR (Flash Flash Revolution). It uses a login system to keep track of scores and ranks from the songs I play. On my late model eMac It's very laggy in-browser, even on low quality. I downloaded the Flash Player 9 stand alone and it runs smooth, however it doesn't use my stored login information from Safari/Firefox (or IE5 for that matter) Like Windows does. Is there any way to fix this?

    Anyone?

  • Firefox wants newer Flash player but my machine doesn't meet Flash 10.2 CPU speed

Just installed Firefox 3.6 and it says I need to update Flash player plug-in, but my machine doesn't meet the current Flash player 10.2 system requirements, ie for CPU speed. My CPU is 1.7 GHz. New Flash wants something like 2.4 GHz. I have 128 MB of dedicated graphics.
IE does display flash content, using Flash active X plug-in, 10.0.32.18
    Otherwise like Firefox.

Update to the latest version of Flash that is compatible with your system. (probably 10.1 r102) After that ignore Mozilla's messages about needing to update Flash.
IE uses a different version of Flash (ActiveX) than other browsers use (Plugin), so it's like comparing apples and oranges.

  • I'm having problems when Firefox 5 uses Flash Player.

Whenever the browser uses Flash player ''(ex. Facebook games)'', my browser becomes so slow, that even opening a new tab takes time to load.
One more thing, whenever I watch videos from youtube, although the buffer is finish, the video is choppy.
    Any solutions with this?

No solution but some general comments
It may be worth disabling firebug, and any other unnecessary extensions, also consider any other background tasks, for instance is the computer indexing drives, or doing other downloads or security scans.
Experiment with hardware acceleration on and off, in both firefox prefs, and FlashPlayer settings. Ensure any video drivers are up-to-date.
Do you need the multiple java consoles, and is there any possibility skype may slow things down ?
It may be worth considering a new separate profile just for flashplayer gaming.

  • Why doesn't Firefox auto-update Flash Player like Chrome does?

For security reasons and less hassle, I like Chrome auto-updates Flash Player. Why doesn't Firefox do this?

Google Chrome has it's own version of the Flash plugin that is apart of the Google Chrome installation files.<br />
So Google needs to do a full update with every Flash release.
Firefox uses the Flash plugin as installed in your Linux distribution,<br />
If your Ubuntu Linux distribution doesn't have an automatic update for Flash then you need to do that manually.

I am facing this prob for the last few days...It says firefox encountered a prob and needs to close down....After a lot of findings I came to know that it was due to Adobe Flash Player ...when this plug-in is enabled and i visit video sites firefox crashes, but if I disable this plug-in firefox doesnt crash.....Please Help... AVG is not the problem - it is the Adobe plugin that triggers the crash.
    Evidence :
Flash works perfectly in Internet Explorer.
Firefox works when Flash not present or disabled.
Firefox crashes when Flash enabled and any site requiring the plug-in to be used is accessed.
Firefox fails to give any warning message or explanation.
Disabling any other plu-ins makes no difference.
AVG has been uninstalled and an alternative anti-virus put into use.
Problem started earlier in June when version 10.1r53 (10.1.53.64) of Adobe flash plug-in appeared. The problem did NOT exist until early June.
Uninstalling flash and reinstalling does not cure the problem.
    Affects Firefox 3.6.3 and 3.6.4
Operating System in use : Windows XP with service pack 3.

  • Firefox and adobe flash player installation

When I go to a site like www, vevo, com I am asked to install Adobe Flash player. I install per directions, it shows on the page as having been installed, yet I cannot get videos (specifically on vevo site) to work. Everytime I open vevo, it still asks to install latest version of flash player and I can't play videos.
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit OS.
Further, the instructions say to download the 32-bit Firefox in order for the Adobe FP to work, but this site says that Firefox comes ONLY in 32-bit. Any ideas how I can get this to work? I can view youtube, and other videos. Currently, the vevo site is the only video I can't see - that I know of.

I've finally upgraded to Firefox 6, after much much hesitation, and now certain sites built in Flash won't work. They work just great in Safari. The upgrade to the latest Flash player worked for Safari, but not Firefox. I've updated the Shockwave player.
No matter how many times I download and install the newest player and restart my browser, it still tells me I have to download and install the newest flash player and restart my browser.
Even Firefox 5 doesn't want to work with Flash...

    * Open the '''install_flash_player.exe''' file, then follow the installer's instructions.
-> Start Firefox in Safe Mode by Holding down the '''Option''' key while starting your Mozilla Firefox application. (If the Profile Manager opens, select a profile and then hold down the '''Option''' key again while clicking the button to start Firefox.)
    * As an alternate method, go to Utilities (in the Applications folder) and open Terminal, then run:
    ** /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -safe-mode
-> Firefox Safe Mode window will appear -> DON'T SELECT ANY OPTIONS, just click '''Continue in Safe Mode'''
-> go to a website that uses Flash player:
