Firefox 36 changes colors on EVERYTHING to too bright and saturated.

I have 28, 33 and now 36. All previous versions had the same and more accurate color. But, 36 makes everything too bright and saturated. Every page. Even bookmark icons. Everything.
Something must have changed. Could have changed in 34 or 35 as I skipped those,. but here in 36 is definitely an issue.
Is there a new setting I have missed?
Appreciate your replies. This is hard to view.

Hello Bob, try '''disabling graphics hardware acceleration'''.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window as follows, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' .
#In the Firefox Options window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. '''Uncheck''' this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
* [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
* [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.

    One can use a Layer Mask and add a white Layer underneath.

    that's were the fun stops on a MacOs-based system ..
    FC/e supports only a few 'standards': DV (as from miniDV cams), HDV (from miniDV devices), AVCHD (from most devices) and with a little trick, described on my website AVCHD-light (720p, as from many compact-stills) ..
    done.
    some Flips are supported by iMovie, which you can abuse as a converter tool.
    but 'non video standard' (=read 'video' as 'in TV') formats, resolutions and codecs ...
    a) manual conversion = less convenient
    b) loss of 'quality', e.g. when you blow-up tiny 480x320/15fps into video..
    FC/e is FC/pros lil' brother.. meant for a more.. adult workflow..
    if you like to wrestle with multi-formats, stay with Windows/Magix/..

    MacOs=convenience, with a chance of getting restricted

  • The PDFs I send to the customers for approval look too bright and clean! Help!!

    I working for a printing company that prints on Un coated White wove. The PDFs I send to the customers for approval look too bright and clean compaired to what is going to end up on press. How can I create a PDF the better represents the more dull look of un coated stock that they will end up with. Most of them are probably using Reader to view my pdfs.

    Hi Mike ,
    If you could request the customers to view PDF' on Acrobat and compare the outputs .
    Request the customer to change the default program viewer to Acrobat and see the results.
    You may also want to check the resolution on the both ends. i.e yours and the customer' end.
    Does all the customers get the same output ?

  • Nikon D300s images too bright and interlaced.

    So this is my first time shooting and editing video and I'm getting some weird errors.
    I'm running Windows 7, and when I view the video files after downloading them from the card, the whites all seem too bright and blown out, no matter which media player I use. When I import the videos into Premiere CS5, the whites are not so blown out and there's detail.
    BUT when I'm done editing and save the file as a HD H.264 720p 24fps file, the whites are again blown out AND there's obvious interlacing.
    How do I get my whites to not be blown out, and how do I get the output to be deinterlaced?

    You've told others on this forum to use professional monitors.
    Not everyone has access to a professional monitor. I will never have access to a professional monitor. Not everyone is a video professional and not everyone cares to be one. I just want a video that looks good on YouTube. A professional monitor is not an option.
    All I know is that on the same monitor, when playing the originals and the final exported file the whites look noticably more blown out than they do when previewed within Premiere.
    The D300s only shoots in progressive, but when I export from Premiere (making sure Progressive is selected) the video looks interlaced.

  • Color Settings Images are too warm and light while editing

    Can someone help me understand color settings in Photoshop. My images look much lighter and warmer when I edit them than when I export them using Save for Web.
    For a while I though it was because I was importing a raw file with a different color depth and profile so when it got saved as a jpg that the colors and brightness would shift. Recently, I made a graphic in Photoshop and it still looked warmer than the export. I also know temperature is displayed wrong in photoshop because when I create a neutral gray color its too warm. When it's exported using save for web the temperature is shown correctly.
    If it was a mis calibrated monitor it would look warm all of the time. I'm using Photoshop CS3, my color profile is sRGB with color management turned off (its off because espon recommends this setting because it can better manage colors). Although I tried changing these settings and they don't seem to make a difference. Here's neutral gray image with screen caps to show you what I'm talking about.
    http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a317/pcofran/test/photoshop-color.jpg

    Calibration tools calibrate your monitor to produce colors on screen that will look proper given your room lighting. Think of calibration as being a very precise, accurate adjustment to the contrast, brightness, and RGB controls of your monitor. Obviously, if these controls are set differently, your images will view differently. Calibration results in the monitor being set properly for display of images at a known gamma. You can get fairly good, but not totally accurate, calibration visually, without a colorimeter, using appropriate software tools.
    Calibration tools also produce a profile that allows color managed software, such as Photoshop, to adjust its output for very precise reproduction within the gamut of your display. Again, there are some tools that produce a profile visually, but you get better results with a colorimeter.
    Why should this be necessary? You want to display your images with the intended colors. You also want the proper colors to be sent to your printer or the files on your website. If your monitor isn't properly calibrated and profiled, pixels from the image file that are, say, light gray (RGB 200,200,200) might appear as middle gray, near-white, or even tinged with red or blue. If you adjust the colors in the image file so it displays the way you want it, the pixels in the file will no longer be light gray and will display as something else entirely on a different monitor, when printed, or when viewed at a website.

  • The color of screen seems too bright

    I've just upgrage my system. The fonts of tty became very small and very bright after that. I just startx as usual but find the color of screen is so bright that I cannot see the fonts clearly and and kwin effect disappear.
    I've reinstall my video card driver and remove xorg.conf but it didn't help. any ideas? thx~

    The font in the TTY is probably small, because of the higher resolution that is possible with KMS. You can change the font size and the colors for the text in the TTYs, though. I can send you more info on that in some hours if you want.
    Thanks !

  • Printing too contrasty and saturated in CS6. How to correct?

    i have just upgraded from Mac OS 10.5 and CS5 to Mac OS 10.8.4 and CS6 printing on Epson 9880. Struggling to get calibrated prints - before it was excellent. Now printed images are WAY contrasty and saturated compared to the monitor, a LA Cie 324, which I calibrate with la Cie Eye One puck. If I use settings "Let Printer" manage color, the print is much less saturated and contrasty than if I use the settings "Let PS" manage color; all this relates to using icc profiles for Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, or other papers, Ilford Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl, for example. The overall color is ok, it is an issue of contrast and saturation at the moment. As with all of these issues, very frustrating!
    Any suggestions for resolving this?

    Epson does have a problem with the "use 16 bit" checkbox in the Epson print settings that can cause similar issues.
    Try turning it off.

    Are you using Firefox theme and choose Random theme option?

  • Win8.1, firefox is changing color temperature while scrolling/or changing tabs over different colored webpages

    windows 8.1 firefox 35.0.1 is chaning the color temperature across the whole screen(including the bottom start bar) while browsing(scrolling) and/or when changing tabs between a light(white) and darker pages.
    I've searched google and firefox settings without finding any information about this. I'd like it removed as I find it somewhat annoying
    but where are the settings?

    If this is only happening in Firefox then try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
    You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

  • How do I re-set Google Search to my actual location? I can change back and forth in other browsers, but in Firefox my change is stuck on a different city and I cannot get it to change back.

    I changed my location in Google so I could do a search in another city. Then when I tried to change it back to my location, it stays stuck on the "other" city. I went into Google search settings and tried it on the search page and no changes were saved.
    I tried it on Chrome and Safari and had no problems going from one to another and having everything save as I wanted, yet in Firefox it does not change.

    User fonts, those not require by the OS, are in two locations;
    Mac HD/Library/Fonts
    ~/Library/Fonts
    I would see if the 11M+ fonts are in ~/Library/Fonts first. If so drag them to the Trash and restart.

  • How to change color from default black in JS and still retain fade effect?

    Hi, I have got some java script that fades in some text on loading. It is working but I cant seem to change the color and retain the fade in effect. Any ideas? I am using CS5.
    I think it is something in here that needs changing?
    <script language="javascript">
    col=255;
    function fade() { document.getElementById("fade").
    style.color="rgb(" + col + "," + col + "," + col + ")"; col-=40; if(col>20) setTimeout('fade()', 300); }
    </script>

    Try changing this -
    if(col>20)
    to this -
    if(col>90)
    and see what happens.

  • Images in Bridge preview too red and saturated

    I have used Adobe Bridge CS3 successfully for many years. Now all of a sudden all of my images in Preview appear very red and overly saturated. Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong?? thanks.

    I did ALL those things and the problem remains.
    Just to be sure about ALL, you followed the KB article with removing cache
    and plist etc also?
    Strangely images look okay in
    the "content" area but overly saturated in preview.
    Could you provide more detail about the file types you are using for this
    (maybe even provide a screenshot to clarify better) and OSX you are using.
    And are you using High Quality settings for preview?
    Do you think this means my Bridge is cooked
    No, I can't think of that, it must be a setting (or rather resetting)
    problem and should be possible to solve to my opinion.
     and i'll have to upgrade?
    That's entirely up to you, I can only tell you that Adobe has a 3-version
    upgrade policy, after this you need to buy a full version to keep on track.
    But you surely benefit from CS5 Bridge that is much faster and more stable
    then the CS3 edition
