Firefox 37 has issues

Hi.
I have some issues with firefox 37 like:
01. Why with html5 and firefox 37 i can't play 4k youtube videos but with adobe flash player and firefox 37 i can play it normally?
What is the wrong?
02. Why at some sites the browser it stuck fore 5-10 sec and i can't go to any tab even without any plugins/addon or at safe mode.
What can i do to solve these two problems for now?

Hi, there have been some issues with FF 37.0 which has been temporarily pulled - [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1149761 technical info here]. You could try using an old version but that might compromise your security, so isn't recommended - [[Install an older version of Firefox]].
Probably best to sit tight and wait for an update to v37.??

  • Firefox has issues after update

Every single time I update Firefox I wind up having issues with it! My current issue (which has also been an issue before and never satisfactorily resolved - I merely learned to live with it) is the complete loss of my homepage. Despite the fact the options show it to be set correctly, it now opens the last page I had from my previous session.
I know you're going to tell me that everything looks fine so try to uninstall/reinstall, or fiddle with my preferences file; all the usual panaceas, but I'm having none of it! This problem happens EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I update FF!!!! That is ridiculous and it needs to stop. As this is a common issue with so many users it is something that should get fixed long before any pretty little visual adjustments and other such nonsense.
Another issue that constantly comes up is the lack os saved preferences. I will go for months with the damn browser not saving my preferences and then, boom! suddenly some random day it will start doing what I want it to and then, just as fast, y'all will come out with another update and I'm back to the same old problems!
Look, I like FF, it's my favorite browser. I just really need for it to work like it's supposed to EVERY TIME I OPEN IT! Is there a fix that doesn't require me to wipe my hard drive? Seriously, this is getting waaaaay old!

Hello JaneDoe1651, check if you have any issues in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode safe mode].
also, in your system details it seems that you have in your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox profile] folder a [http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file User.js] file. The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not created, then try to delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create the file also).
    thank you

  • Two issues: Mail dotcom is now telling me to enable java in my browser and firefox has issues w/duckduckgo search engine. I am not allowed 2 instal DDG n search

2 issues: After a windows update on 5 10 2012, maildotcom says I need to enable java in my browser, when as far as I can tell, it is.
Second issue is, I am not able to add duckduckgo as my preferred search engine. I get a pop up in search tool add-ons that says "sorry, you need a Mozilla based browser to install a search plug in."
Why and how can these irritations be fixed?

*To add a site to the NoScript "whitelist" ('''always allow''') --> when on the site, click the NoScript icon and choose "Allow ''site''"; the site will be placed on the NoScript Options > Whitelist (non-italicized).

  • Flash Player 11.3.300.257 has issues with Firefox 13

Yesterday I did a speedtest on http://speedtest.ziggo.nl. My download value was the same as my upload value so I contacted my provider to see if there was a problem. Discovered myself that the problem wasn't my internet connection but the update of Flash Player I did some hours earlier. On Internet Explorer and Chrome I get normal download values when I do a speedtest, but on Firefox the download value is the same as the upload value. Also I get a lot of 'Flash Player is crashing' popup windows.
I use Firefox 13 on Windows x64. Updated to Flash Player 11.3.300.257.
I uninstalled Flash using Adobe's uninstaller and installed a previous version (11.2) and everything was working fine again. I got normal download and upload values when doing above speedtest. When I updated to 11.3.300.257 again, the download value was as low as the upload value again and besides that a lot of Flash error popups again.
So apparently the Flash Player 11.3.300.257 plugin for Firefox has a serious bug of some kind?

    Hey Chris,
I was able to duplicate this issue on my Windows 7 laptop as follows:
         1)  Completely uninstall FlashPlayer (using your tool) as well as Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance Service (used Windows 7 - uninstall from Control Panel).  Please note that I checked the box that said "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" to ensure that Firefox was completely gone from my laptop.
         2)  I then went out to the Firefox website and downloaded the "Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe" app to my laptop.  I ran this app to install Firefox.
         3)  I then went to the following website http://www.ishmael.org.uk/karaoke02.php as I know that this URL uses Flash Player (obviously you can go to any URL that uses Flash Player - I'm just letting you know which one I used).  I then clicked on the icon on this page to install Flash Player.
Once the install was completed, the URL stops responding and appears to be locked up (although it will occassionally hiccup and display portions of the page and then lock up again).  You will eventually get a pop-up notice from Firefox that has the header "Warning:  Unresponsive script" and says the following:
A script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped responding.  You can stop the script now, or you can continue to to see of the script will complete.  Script:  chrome://browser/content/browser.js:6551
Selecting "Stop script" will get Firefox working until you hit another page that uses Flash Player.
To ensure that the above URL is not the culprit, I used one from your website http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html and had the same results.
    Hope this info helps!
    Jeff
NOTE:  As a reminder, I do not have RealPlayer installed on my laptop (and never have had it installed)

In my experience this is most of the times a server issue of the website provider.
Does this error occur on all Websites or just one specific Website?
Does this Website load in Internet Explorer (or any other Browser?)?

  • LinkedIn issue - Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Clearing the cookies didn't seem to work. It just started happening about 2-3 days ago. Could it be an Adobe plug-in or something? I think it updated a couple of days ago but I'm not sure. It only seems to be happening when I try to open a page on LinkedIn article links.

You might also need to clear the cache, in case Firefox has cached an old redirect.
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
Instead of clicking or Ctrl+clicking the links, try using either right-click > Open in a New Tab or "middle" clicking with the mouse wheel. These methods of opening the article should bypass tracking scripts, in case one of those is the problem.

  • Every time I TRY to start firefox 18-19 I get an error message : Firefox has stopped working - close the program and check online for a solution - or - close ..

Every time I TRY to start firefox 18-19 I get an error message : "Firefox has stopped working" - "close the program and check online for a solution" - or - "close the program" this happens TWICE every time I try to start firefox. Eventually after a random number of tries firefox will start normaly. I am useing firefox 19.0.2 now bit I belive it started when I upgraded to firefox 18 but am not sure, it might have been when I upgraded to firefox 19 ... but it has been happening for a very long time and I cannot find any helpfule solutions online.
I have tried a Clean reinstall but it did not help.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Firefox has been crashing when I try to close it and now won't open at all.

For some time now, Firefox has been timing out when I tried to close it, making it necessary to "force quit." Now it won't open at all. Even more strangely, I'm not able to send a crash report to Apple (I get the message "submission failed").
I've tried downloading the newest version, downloading plug-ins, and starting in "safe mode."
Also strange, in my bookmarks section the little icons had disappeared lately.

Sorry I do not use Mac s Unless someone provides a better answer I suggest you start with looking at
    * [[latest firefox issues]] (watch for any updates about new issues)
    * [[firefox crashes]] <br> That article provides general tips and suggestions, and explains how to obtain a crash ID, something that you can do even when firefox will not start
You may need to investigate the possibility of a malware problem, but try to obtain a crash ID first, that may provide a clue to the problem.

  • Firefox has stopped working in Windows 7 but works in Windows safe mode

I am sending this from a different computer on which Firefox works fine. My problem is on a Windows 7 PC -- in the past few days Firefox has stopped working in normal mode but works ok in Windows safe mode. I keep getting a Windows error message that it has stopped working and I will be notified if there is a solution. Of course, I am never notified. I have tried resetting Firefox when in Windows safe mode, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, after having deleted all the program folders and appdate. I've exhausted every possible fix I could find in the Mozilla support forums but I still can's solve the problem. Can you help please?

  • I updated from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 and ever since Firefox has run somewhat strangely. In particular when on sites with a lot of images like Facebook, etc

Hello, I am writing as I am experiencing some issues with my favorite web browser after updating to Windows 8.1. Here are some details. I updated from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 and ever since Firefox has run somewhat strangely. In particular when on sites with a lot of images like Facebook. It is like there is some kind of Flikr effect between the desktop and the images and between the images and the browser (almost like old 16 bit video games flikering). It is not too bad but it is an issue. I have tried resetting firefox and restarting the computer. I haven't tried a repair, and I haven't done an uninstall yet.

thank you for helping, the issue seems to have been caused by the hardware accelerator

  • Why ?? on EVERY web search do I get a message saying " Firefox has prevented this web site ". These are trusted sites for the most part

I reloaded the Free version of Firefox browser about two months ago. Since then EVERY TIME I browse, with just a few exceptions, Firefox displays a message bar across the top of the screen saying " Firefox has prevented this site" with the message there is a check box asking "ALLOW?" When I check the ALLOW most times I get the web page BUT on some occasions Firefox just continues to block the page.
The sites and pages I am referring to here are for the most TRUSTED places.
This has been happening since I reloaded. It was NOT an issue prior to that.
It is VERY annoying and I have since switched to Google Chrome.
If you can offer some reasoning or explanation as to why this is happening I will be appreciative.
    Thank You. mLowe51

If you find a version of Firefox that isn't free, let us know because that likely would be a scam...
It would be helpful to know the rest of that phrase because two things come to mind but I might be missing the one you're actually seeing.
    * Popup windows: Firefox will display an infobar like that when a popup window is blocked. If you don't ever want to block popups, you can turn that feature off in the Options dialog:<br><br>"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content > ''Uncheck'' Block pop-up windows
    * Redirect: Firefox has an accessibility feature that blocks some redirects. You can unblock them in the Options dialog:<br><br>"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > ''Uncheck'' Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page
Is either of those the solution?

Use firefox to access gmail account. Worked great until tonight--Nov 6th. Firefox autoloaded an update, then within 10 seconds of loading gmail account, I get a message, "firefox has stopped working", followed shortly by "A problem has occurred with firefox. Windows will close the program and notify if a solution is available". Nothing happens. If I reattempt to get into email or firefox, I get a "this is embarrassing message" with two options: restore or start new session--neither of which work. Please help.
