Firefox 4.0 beta 10 crashes my Thinkpad W510
Firefox Beta 4.10 crashes the video driver on my Thinkpad W510 running Windows 7 64. This behavior did not occur using Firefox 3.0 and it doesn't occur using Internet Explorer 9.0 Beta. I use my laptop at work in a docking station hooked up to 3 monitors. Firefox 4.0 Beta has not crashed while docked. It only crashes when it is being used as a portable machine using the laptops display. The last crash ID I had was in December because I quit using Firefox and switched to Internet Explorer.
Firefox doesn't allow me to edit my sharepoint site properly.
* Upgrade to Firefox 4.0 Beta 11.
* Upgrade your graphic driver from http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-266.58-whql-driver.html or from your computer manufacturer support site.
* If it does not solve your issue, try to disable Norton IPS 2.0 that is known to be crashy for Firefox 4. See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
* Using the latest version of plugins is also good to prevent crashes, [http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/ check your plugin].

Webcam crashes my Thinkpad x61
I have tried to install both a Lenovo webcam and a Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks on my x61 (Windows XP, SP3). The software seems to install correctly, but when I connect the camera it instantly disables my internet connection (both ethernet and wireless). I need to do a system restore in safe mode in order to be able to connect again. I tried first with the Lenovo camera and spent hours on the phone with Lenovo support, who had no idea what to do. I returned the camera and bought a Logitech, but the results were the same. Logitech says it's a known issue with Lenovo. Both cameras worked on my Thinkpad T41 (same O/S and internet connection), but the resolution was very bad. Does anyone know a fix for the x61 problem?

FlashPlayer 11,8,800,88 Beta crashed on using speex
Ever since I updated to 11,8,800,88 beta,
FlashPlayer crashed under following conditions:
・Viewing live streming using rtmp
・OS,Browser:Win7 IE9,Win7 Firefox 21,win8 IE10
・FlashPlayer version :11,8,800,88 beta
・audio codec:speex ( nellymoser ,this problem does not occurs. )Thanks for the feedback. We'd like to investigate the issue, but need more information to proceed.
Frequently issues with decoding are specific to particular bitrates and encoding flags. The fastest way to get a resolution is to file a bug and provide a URL or locally-executable example that consistently reproduces the problem. If I have to ask someone to create test media, it will add several weeks to the turnaround as the request will go to the back of the existing queue. I can route complete bugs directly to domain experts for investigation.
Here's a link to the bug system:

Once completed, please reply to this thread with the bug number. I'll get an email notification and will escalate the issue to the engineering team.

Several months ago I installed the Firefox Home app on my iPhone to sync the bookmarks that I had on my Windows XP home computer. It has worked just fine until a few days ago. Just recently I was notified that the app would no longer work because of changes that have been made. I have tried to follow the instructions that were emailed to me regarding how to setup the new Firefox Sync add-on, but I am having a problem. After downloading Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta to my desktop and restarting my computer, I do not receive any prompts to create an account with a password and a secret phrase, as the instructions specify. How do I set up the account if the prompt never shows up?
Click on the Firefox button then select Options to open the Options dialog. Now go to the Sync panel for the option to setup a new account.

Whenever I open Firefox 4.0 Beta 6, and try to long onto websites like Hotmail, Facebook RuneScape etc. it won't let me... I'm finding it frusrtrating and annoying since I cannot use Firefox 4.0 Beta 6. It works on other accounts excluding mine - What is this crap rigged or something? I have to resort to crappy Google Chrome and Safari since it messed up on both of my computers... Here's what it says when I double-click the short-cut: " Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features. " Although, it says the way to help - Can you like, dumb it down for me?
ALSO, here's what it says when I go onto http://runescape.com - It says: An error occurred during a connection to www.runescape.com:443.
Can't connect securely because the SSL protocol has been disabled.

Firefox 3.6.6 Crashes as soon as I open it.
I am having a problem with Firefox 3.6.6.
This is a fresh install on Windows 7 64 bit, first thing I did is install Firefox, but I can't even open it without it crashing. As soon as i click the open button it takes a few seconds and before I can even see the Firefox browser itself, a crash report pops open.
This is what the Crash report details say:

<u>Add-ons</u>
One of your add-ons might be the culprit. Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] with all add-ons disabled. If that solves the problem, see [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and possibly [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
<u>Are your plugins updated?</u>
Check this by going to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
<u>Are you using the newest version of Firefox?</u>
It is important you use the latest version of Firefox because it includes stability and security updates. The latest version of Firefox can always be downloaded from http://www.getfirefox.com. You can check if you are using the latest version of Firefox by going to Help | About Mozilla Firefox. If you are not, see [[Updating Firefox]]
<u>Malware</u>
Different types of Malware can cause Firefox to crash. For more information, please see [[Is my Firefox problem a result of malware]] -
Each time I try to open a PDF file from any website, Firefox (3.6.10) crashes. No error messages--just closes abruptly. For add-ons, I've got Personas 1.6.1, United States English Dictionary 1.0.0, and WOT. I've got the Adobe Reader 9 and Foxit 3.3.1.0518. The crashes of Firefox occur with both PDF readers. I did go through the posted solutions for PFD related crashes in the FAQ section but those steps did not resolve the problem.
Does that only happen if you open the PDF files in the browser or also if you open the PDF files in the standalone program by disabling the plugin?

Firefox 3.6.3 crashes when opening and the Crash Report [[@ strlen nspr4.dll@0x15f9f ]. It was working perfectly fine and the last three days, I am having difficulty in opening firefox. It crashes with the above crash report every time I open. I came across the bad image error and did a clean reinstall multiple times and that did not help. I have firebug and firecookies as an addon.

firebug and firecookieUsually doesn't immediately crash, although that happens also. Usually hangs, then crashes.
Addons are WHY I use Firefox when it works. I am NOT on the bleeding edge any longer. I could go back to boring, boring, Chrome. -
Well, as I said, Firefox 3.6.8 crashes when accessing Add-on Manager and Google Toolbar (v 7.1.20100723W) is enabled. This is on a 2010 white unibody macbook. I have a google toolbar, and all of a sudden, it keeps saying that it can't communicate with the toolbar. Now, I can't even uninstall it because whenever I go to the add on manager, it says there's an 'unresponsive script'. Could anyone help me? Thanks.
I fixed it by running in Safe Mode, and uninstalling Personas. Thanks again!

My usage of FF hasn't changed over the last 2-3 years (probably longer) and I often run multiple windows with multiple tabs each.
Thanks,
HadynFrom your crash report, most of them have an OOM ( (NS_ABORT_OOM)) signature attached somewhere in it which means Firefox ran out of memory and crashed. The only exception is the report that has a signature of [https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/3fdf2f42-026e-40f8-8c61-de6342140523 mozilla::WebGLTexture::DoDeferredImageInitialization(unsigned int, int)] Firefox crashes because it's out of memory seems odd because your System Memory Use Percentage doesn't seem to hit the high 90's like normal reports and hovers around 50-78%. Usually the percentage of RAM Firefox uses before it crashes is around 90-96%. Each case is different though. See the below article for some quick fixes for this.
