Firefox 4.0 reintroduced RSOD (red screen of death)
APEX 3.2.1 - RSOD
APEX 4.0.1 - ok
RSOD (red screen of death) was visible in a few previous version and its back. you get it in SQL workshop or any code window. any workaround ladies?

Raids do not really help benchmarks unless you considure hard drive benchmarks. Most games and benchmark proggies load everything they need prior to running. So unless you have a low memory condition that forces the game or benchmark to use the swap file the only place that you would typically see any gain in speed is during the loading of the game or benchmark. That is hard to quantify other than through experience.
Where a raid shines is in file tranfer situations. When you create and save large files such as movies, Reading or copying large files, defragging, or any other massive file effort. Overall the gains can be very small compaired to the rest of what you do with your system. However that is not to belittle what a Raid does. It does give a finer sheen to the overall computers operations and will make sluggish file transfers seem much more bearable overall.

How do I fix the red screen of death issue?
iPad Air, 13 mo. old: working fine yesterday, plugged it in to charge (left it on) and about 8 hrs later I went to use it. When I opened the case, I had the red screen of death. No error messages, can't see any of the icons. just red screen. I finally got it to turn off using the home and off button. turning back on goes right to red screen. Attempted multiple times to restore using iTunes. Each time it gets stuck in "waiting for iPad to respond"? Anyone have a fix?
Hello konagirl64,
It may help to put your iPad into recovery mode prior to restoring.

Ok, so basically today i had my iphone 5s in my friend's food bag, then i took it out and i noticed that my phone had restarted itself for no apparent reason. then it was fine, then later on in the day, i realised that my phone was hot and it was on the apple logo. i didn't know what to do as it just stayed there so i pressed the lock and home button, then i got the blue screen of death. obviously i was freaked out as my phone is only a month or so old. then i've kept trying to reboot it, and now i constantly get the red screen of death, then it will switch back to the apple logo, and this will keep on happening. i cant charge my phone without it turning on, and getting extremly hot. i have tried to restore my iphone through itunes, which i did the first time but this just went back to the apple logo and red screen of death. then i tried to do it a couple times again, then just won't work! i'm honestly really unhappy, and i want to go to the apple store... but if i'm not on insurance am i still able to go it? PLEASE HELP!
The iPhone includes a one year warranty.
Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. -

However I think you have a hardware issue. If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.

I have an iPhone 5s. i was out today and the battery died. I plugged it into the car charger. When it awoke all I could get was the error message that the phone did not shut down properly. i tried holding down the power button, but nothing happened. Now, I have a red screen. What do I do?
Press and hold both the power and the home button for approx 20 seconds
Do you still have warranty on it? You can take it to Apple Store -
Firefox.exe is causing a blue screen of death in Windows Vista.
I was browsing the internet a few hours ago when my computer bluescreened. This is the first time this has ever happened on my 2-year-old system, so when Windows booted up again I searched for a way to diagnose the problem. The resulting Windows Debugging Tool cited Firefox.exe as the cause of the crash.
Has anybody else had this issue? Is there a solution?
Please and thanks! :-DI have this problem for 3 weeks now.
Blue screen occurs 2/3 times a day, only when FF running (tested with IE : problem disapears).
More blue screens occur when playing a video, but happens without Flash player anyway.
Seems to be a minidump / AppDataLocal Temp... error.
Any idea ? -
VIA Raid 0: Red screen of Death - fatal error during boot sequence
I have been using two Maxtor 120GB SATA drives in a RAID 0 array on my Athlon 64 MSI MB. I have occasionally had messages saying "Hard disk error. Can't find drive 0". I've assumed that this has been a driver issue because if I power down, wait a while I can reboot and continue without issue (other than chkdsk running during boot up). However after the last such error, when I next tried to reboot I got an error message as the RAID was initialising. The error message was in a red box on a black screen and stated that there was a fatal error and that the raid relationship and all HHD would be destroyed if I continued. Naturally I switched off at this point, but on rebooting got exactly the same message. Eventually, as I have backups, I continued past this point and sure enough the RAID had gone. So I rebuilt the raid array and everything seems to be OK.
However, I'd forgotten that my MSI DVD burner was incapacitated due to a failed firmware update so had temporaril;y replace it with a DVD rom drive to get access to my backups. BUT the drive won't read all my backup discs, in particular it won't read the Drive C backups .
Has anyone else had this RAID erro. Is it a driver error or is it a dsik failing (even though they were new at Christmas).

I am getting red screen while previewing a full motion
recorded movie and also after published the movie. the movie is
quite lengthy with 90 Slides, i getting the red screen from 25th
Slide. Even, i am using a high configuration computer for
recording. please advise...Hi Powered by India and welcome to our community
Sorry, but the "Red Screen of Death" (RSOD)
is a phenomenon we see when recording longer movies using Full
Motion Recording (FMR). Basically it is an indication that the
computer resources have been exhausted. I believe it's an issue
with the Flash Player. What happens is that as each full motion
segment plays, it is loaded into memory. The next segment plays and
is loaded into memory. But the first wasn't released. It's still
loaded! After several of these occur (for you it seems to happen 25
slides into the movie) all the memory is used up and no room exists
for loading more. Hence the RSOD.
The only way around it as far as I know, is to create smaller
projects, then link them together. You may also wish to avoid using
the Full Motion type of recording, particularly for projects that
are very long.
Hopefully this was helpful... Rick -
Fix red screen of death?
Hello there, Psansburn.
The following Knowledge Base article provides great steps for troubleshooting your issue:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281
Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
Pedro. -
Powermac dual G5 crashing in Firefox, grey screen of death
Since the 10.4.9 update, my Powermac dual G5 2.0 Ghz machine
has begun crashing in Firefox. I get the grey screen of death that tells me to power cycle my machine. When it boots, it offers me the choice of reporting the crash to Apple, which I have done.
My machine only crashes in Firefox. When it crashes, I am always opening a Firefox window, opening a firefox tab, or following a link in Firefox.
I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.4.
I presume that someone actually reads these crash reports, and gets a memory dump when we send our report in?
So far, I haven't found a place to open a bug report on Mac OS X...
Thank you,
Chris Shaker

Why does Firefox show a red screen briefly on startup?
Whenever I start Firefox on my laptop, it briefly shows a red screen before heading to my home page. Is this normal for the browser now or should I be looking at my hardware rather than the software?
That may be related to Firefox switching to hardware acceleration. If the screen buffer that is used isn't empty then you may see older content of it displayed until that screen buffer is cleared.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver. -
Trigger edit red screen - missing xml mime types from installation?
trying to edit some trigger code - red screen displays. I've seen this in the 'regular' htmldb when the two AddType lines were not added to the httpd.conf file. But in OracleXE Windows, where would I find these to check or add to what file?
Wayne Lintonanyone know how to add the HTMLDB mimetypes to firefox? I know how to do this using Apache/httpd.conf, but I'm using a remote windows box over the web. I think I need to add them to the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile but don't know how.

I also have the RSOD issue :( very strange i could only narrow it to few thing's ,after having my MSI gtx670 for over a month with no issue's whatsoever,Then BAM RSOD hit me while playing bf3!, i rebooted thinking that was strange first red screen i have ever seen in 12 years of pc gaming... thought was one time insodent..hour later playing bf3 RSOD again with sound stuttering and system locked up forcing cold shut down like previous RSOD did :( i thought it was my recent bought sound card causing it, took it out didnt fix issue, i had just been messing with widgets and temp monitor programs such as speedfan and couple other,s, so after google the RSOD issue i uninstalled all the monotor apps including afterburner, still random RSOD when playing bf3 and now once in mw3 rsod!.. so now i formatted my HD and fresh installed my windows 7 64bit and installed only bare min of nvidia drivers and no temp monitor apps, worked ok for 2 days ...thenm BAM RSOD again :( so needless to say i'am in middle of RMA now for my MSI gtx670 oc and will update on how it all goes....
back to start after RMA :( i got a replacement gtx670 oc back and worked ok for few days, but from start it barely allowed any stable oc! like +40 core max and +200 ram max, but i could live with that,,and did...till poof red screen while playing borderlands 2....now card wont allow no oc on core at all, only lets some ram oc? 400 bucks to not oc? pimp afterburner on box that it comes in, have oc app afterburner on driver cd? and yet cant use it? my question is before RMA #2 ...anyway i can update bios. or flash to better oc bios? something has to be done for me to live with this card!also bought a new psu in vein :( tough power 675 xt single 56amp rail...thought my old 3 rail antec 550 was causing this card to fail me...nope not the case!..any insight will appreciated...any bad attitude reply will be ignored!

Is there an alternative to Gracenote (or a way to correct it)?
I find that all too often the metadata for imported CDs is wrong (or at least, irritating). For example: Each disc of a multi-disc set being classified and named as distinct albums - for example, I'm currently adding Springsteen's "The River" to my
