Firefox 4 Beta 2: Missing Feedback Button and UI is stretched

I had been using Firefox 4 Beta 1 since it was released last month and last night updated to Beta 2. I turn on my computer this afternoon, launch Firefox and I see something very strange. The feedback button is now missing and the back button which should be a circle is oval shape(stretched vertically). I am also not seeing the AERO effect that I did just yesterday and only the title bar is opaque.
== This happened ==
Not sure how often
== Today

I just removed the Test Pilot addon. My Feedback button returned!
It seems that in the Beta versions, it's not Test Pilot, but the "Feedback" addon which gives you the option to send feedback!

  • I have firefox 4 Beta installed on my computer and I can't get the new Firefox 4 to install, so some of the functions don't work, such as dropdowns on Google Toolbar? How can I fix this?

I installed Firefox 4 beta when it was available as a tester before Firefox 4 was released, so I had two versions of Firefox on my computer. When Firefox 4 was released this week, I installed it and it replaced Firefox 3.6.15. For some reason it seems it didn't install the full version of Firefox 4, instead it's a similar version to the Beta version. For example, the drop down on Google search doesn't work when you click on an item in the drop down. Also the orange button that is supposed to replace the buttons on the top left of the browser is not there. It still has the 8 buttons, ie File, Edit, etc. How can I get the full version to install on my computer? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and I get the same result. My computer runs Windows XP Media center Edition OS. Please advise me on how to fix this. Thanks.

Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

I also have a question. Have you ever been able to access these sites from the Firefox on that computer?

  • I have somehow managed to delete/remove the feedback button and cannot figure out how to put it back.

I was going to provide feedback regarding a webpage that does not display properly in Firefox, but does in Explorer, when I noticed the feedback button was gone. The button was there when Firefox was first installed, but is now gone. Any suggestions or do I need to uninstall and then reinstall Firefox?
    Thanks,
    Sandra

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I tried it there was no Feedback Icon to add back . I even tried restore default with no success. Any other ideas?
    Thanks again,
    Sandra

  • Missing Print button and scroll bar

I am using Adobe Reader X version 10.1.9 on a Dell laptop and cannot see the print button or the right vertical scroll bar.  How do I fix this?

One other thing: I know that WebHelp does not allow a Print
button, and at one point we had to try WebHelp as a substitute
while we solved another bug. This is why I deleted everything in
the output folder (to get rid of WebHelp files that could be
interfering) and reran the output, but no change in the
    results.

  • Missing genius button and artwork bug

I just updated my iPhone and I noticed somethings that annoy me. Firstly, the Genius button that used to be in the middle of the bar when a song was playing is now nowhere to be found. Second, now when I add artwork manually to my albums the artwork is misaligned with a little strip of the rightside of the cover art appearing at the beginning of the left side. Help?

I read some other posts and one guy said you have to create a playlist in the side bar, then open the play list. Once you do that the burn disc button will appear. If you are showing you entire library, the button will not show.
I just tried it and it works.

  • The test pilot feedback button no longer shows up

After installing test pilot the feedback button was clearly visible and worked but only until i closed the web browser On March 2. When i opened Firefox on March 3 the feedback button for test pilot was no longer there. I checked to make sure test pilot was still installed and it is. I have tried closing Firefox and reopening it but it didn't work. Since I'm using the beta version I guess it could be a bug in the system. Here's hoping the problem gets fixed so i can continue to give feedback on Firefox 4.

basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.

  • The Feedback button in my 4.0b7 version suddenly thinks I'm using an old beta, but FireFox Help states I'm "up to date"

A week ago I installed 4.0b7, and used the feedback buttom twice. Since then, my children have used my lap top. This morning to my surprise FireFox 3.6 was launched, even the Firefox 4.0 Beta 7 desk top icon launched the old 3.6, and even opening the C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta 7 directory and running firefox.exe first started 3.6. After closing all FF windows I retried running firefox.exe from Explorer, and this time I got 4.0 b7.
When I wanted to report this behaviour through the Feedback button I got the reply that I was not using the correct B version and was redirected to the download page - F1 tells me I'm already up-tp-date.

You need to wait until beta 8 is released before you can submit feedback, which barring any issues arising should be later today.
By default the beta is installed in a different location than 3.6, so you need to ensure that the shortcut you use to launch Firefox is for the version that you want to run. You should also avoid using the same profile for the 2 versions, if necessary create a new profile for Firefox 4 and set the shortcuts to open the correct profile.

  • I don't have the feedback button (Firefox 4 Beta)

Running the latest beta, and the feedback button is not around.

I also have this problem. It probably has to do with the fact that I upgraded from Firefox 3.6. When I start Firefox 4 with a new profile, the buttons are in fact available.

  • When I open firefox 4 beta the webpage does not load and i am unable to click on any buttons or access menus

This has only started happening today. When I start firefox 4 beta it opens and begins to load my homepage (google.co.uk) but the page never fully loads and firefox freezes. I am unable to click on any buttons on the navigation bar or access menus. Keyboard shortcuts are also unresponsive.
All that I am able to do on the browser is to use the three window buttons in the top right of the screen (minimise, maximise and close).
After closing the window if I try to open it again I get a message saying that Firefox is already running, but not responding. Once going into task manager and stopping firefox under the processes tab and then restarting firefox the window again freezes as soon as it opens.
I have tried restarting my computer and reinstalling the beta but with no success. I am still able to use firefox 3.6.13 as well as chrome with no problems.
Any help would be much appreciated

I had this too. Starting firefox in safe-mode and disabling all add-ons solved the problem. After re-enabling all add-ons did not bring back the problem.

  • Firefox 4 Beta (v9,10&11) opens on my PC (Win 7) and creates tabs but only the close button works I cannot click on any tabs or content in the "active" tab?

It looks like Firefox has started ok, all the tabs are populated, but nothing can be accessed by clicking except the Close button and the right hand scroll bar... it is frustrating. Firefox 3 works fine still.

Create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

  • The firefox button and the panorama view button are both missing in FF4 RC1

I updated to FF4 RC1 two days ago and noticed that the panorama view button was missing and the firefox button, which is supposed to replace the File, Edit, View etc. menus had not done so. So basically, I'm still stuck with the FF3 style menu buttons.

The Firefox button is default on Windows Vista and 7, but not on XP. The best explanation I can find was on one of the bug reports.
"In terms of external consistency, nearly every app on XP uses a traditional menu bar (windows explorer, etc.) While some users will prefer to switch to the Firefox button, I think we should stick to the native interactive style for each platform to reduce overall confusion and allow for an easy transition to the new version."
There were a few reasons for not displaying the panorama button by default. It can be confusing to those who have never seen it before if they click on the button, and there are some issues concerning memory usage that have still to be sorted out.
