Chris, I have the same problem and the previous solution is not helping because with "get info / rosetta was never checked".
Flash video from Adobe and ESPN will not play for me. Mac 10.6.8, Safari 5.1, Shockwave Flash 10.3 r183.
I am using Ad Blocker. I have read to uninstall it and try Flash but this was not effective. So any solution would be appreciated.
Sid
Hi Sid,
Where you able to get Ad Blocker removed?  If you go to the About Flash Player page, do you see the spinnng red F?
Thanks,
Chris

    Hello
I was trying the latest version of Mathmagic pro edition for indesign. I found that the leading is not automatically done in Indesign, Ihave attached to files where equation have overlapped while working with mathmagic. Do you have a solution for this?

The forums don't accept attachments. You can embed an image in a post using the camera icon in the editor, like this:
or you can provide a link to an external file on a hosting service.

  • Frequent Fails when installing Adobe Flash Player (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1)

Constantly see the following error message from Adobe Flash Player Installer:
Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again.
What in heck does that error message mean?
This message occurs most of the time when I try to update to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
It would be one thing if it was only occurring on Windows XP, but it shows up on Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1 frequently.
Just for curiousity looked at the Windows 8.1 Event Viewer and NO error message shows up there.
    Would be nice to:
    (1) know what the error really is so that it can be reported to you to get it fixed once and for all.
    (2) have Adobe Flash Installer NOT to delete itself every time that the installer is run.
    (3) have an OFFLINE download installer to download and install Adobe Flash Player without the MacAfee installer.
    (4) have Adobe UNCHECK that the Install MacAfee installer that you have to opt out of each time you do an Adobe Flash Player download. You should make it to OPT IN not OPT OUT! Don't need another program installed without my permission. This causes issues when I have to uninstall MacAfee on computers that others in my family use.
It seems to takes up to 20 times to download the Adobe installer over a period of many days or weeks to get it to install properly.
I have written software for over 36 years as a computer programmer and now Senior Software Developer. I have do installers on my own and have to figure out how to solve my own issues on the installers to get them fixed.
This issue doesn't seem to be tied to any particular version of Windows... Same issue occurs on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1! The ONLY commonality seems to be Adobe Flash Player.
Certainly Adobe should be smart enough to fix this issue once and for all.
If the issue is that there is a network congestion error that it cannot download the installer, please say so and please please please DO NOT delete the downloaded installer every time that it is run on a PC.
I'd like to fix the security issues with the Adobe Flash Player AS SOON as there is a patch for it. I don't like having security issues over a long period of time.
Please address this issue so that I can put this to bed and not have to keep sending you messages that once again the Adobe Flash Player Installer is yet again broken!
Certainly you have a staff at Adobe that CAN fix this problem quickly!

more information about errors can be found in the FlashInstall.log file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (and the SysWOW64 equivalent on 64-bit systems)
the offline installers (below) do not delete themselves
you can find the offline installers
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
the offline installers are not bundled with any 3rd-party crapware

  • Why does Firefox freeze every time I try to install Adobe Flash player? I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it with and without the plugin container.

When I have Adobe Flash player installed and I open Firefox it will freeze up as soon as I open an additional tab other than my home page tab. In order to close Firefox after it freezes I have to use my Windows Task Manager to end process. As soon as I uninstall Adobe Flash player and reboot and then open Firefox it works fine.

Does it help if you disable the plugin-container process?

  • Installed newest Flash Player, "An error occured" message on Youtube videos not working

I have the latest version of Flash Player (12.0.0.70) and Firefox (27.0.1) installed but I'm getting the "An error occured" message within 1 or 2 seconds of playing a YouTube video. If I uninstall Flash from the computer it works perfectly. Why is this happening? This isn't happening on my other computer which has the same versions installed.
I tried disabling ProtectedMode for Flash Player, completely uninstalling/reinstalling, clearing the cache and cookies, etc. It just won't work if Flash is installed. I'm stumped. Help would be appreciated.

Did you also try to disable hardware acceleration in the Flash player plugin?

  • I can't install Adobe Flash Player HELP!

I just got my MacBook Pro and I'm trying to install Adobe Flash Player but there seems to be a problem and I dont know what it is, it starts installing and it says it is fully installed but when I open youtube it says I need to download it. Does someone know whats wrong

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    Step 1
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 2
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 4
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 5
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 6
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    Step 7
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Cannot sign in to install adobe flash player

I have a mac and I need to install adobe flash player. I cannot watch videos on my mac, I keep getting message on the screen that says "flash out of date."  I looked online and I am supposed to install adobe flash player, but I cannot sign in. I cannot figure out what "name" I am supposed to use when I get to the sign in pop up box. The pop up box says: "Install Adobe Flash Player wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." Then I have to type my "name" and "password." I have already changed my password, but I am guessing it is the "name" that is incorrect. I do not see an option where I an update the "name." I don't recall making an adobe account so I tried to create a new one, but when I used my email address (the same one I use for everything), adobe already has it on file. So I am assuming I already have an account, but I cannot figure it out or finish installing adobe flash player. I cannot sign in, please help!

  • Problems instaling adobe flash player 11

I have been trying to down load adobe flash player 11    ( i have windows internet explore 9  and 32 bit   windows Vista )    and it almost downloads but when it gets right down to the very end  it tells me i already have the most current adobe flash player downloaded?  BUT..... i do not have it downloaded no where on my pc?  ive looked in my programs and it is no where?     so therefor adobe flashplayer will NOT download.
if anyone has any sugestions id appreciated it!
    Thanks

It's not a separate program. It doesn't have an icon or an entry in the start menu. It adds itself to your browser. But you should see 'Flash Player' in your Control Panel.
The Flash Player has nothing to do with Acrobat - this is an Acrobat forum. If you have any more questions I'd recommend looking for the Flash forum.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

This is a known problem, but we don't have a solution for it. If your device has the Toshiba Market app, you might be able to download a (possibly outdated) version of Firefox from there.
