Firefox 4 seems to be missing the Alpha tag.

FF4 slows down after awhile, maybe a couple hours.
I'm guessing it's leaking.
Memory never gets low, over 3g free, out of 6g total physical.
FF3 worked fine.
Not sure what you guys were thinking taking this out of beta.
Is it safe to just reinstall 3 overtop 4?

You can install 3.6 over 4.
The only problem I had was treestyletab had to be reinstalled. I reinstalled from the last stable previous version.
Still waiting for the beta tag on the FF4 download.
To suggest this is a release version is a lie.

  • Reference monitor seems to be missing the setup option

    http://imageshack.us/f/11/referencemonitor.jpg/
    My reference monitor seems to be missing the setup option also it is displaying in a format I do not understand.

    I'm based in th UK and working with PAL mini DV. I imported the footage in and then created the sequences using a clip, so the sequence settings should be correct and having checked them, it seems they are. Admittedly, I've never used this function before and this: http://library.creativecow.net/articles/devis_andrew/YC-Waveform-graph-Premiere-Pro/video- tutorial is my frame of reference. The problem I have is I cannot convert the scale he is working with (IRE) to what I'm working with (V).

  • I don't like the look or utility of Firefox 5.0. I miss the addons that I had in the earlier version. How do I go back to a previous version?

    Since I upgraded to FF5, I have found it difficult to acclimate myself to the new look. The Home button is moved and I can't move it back, for instance. The refresh button is in a different place. These things make the newer version awkward to use. Also, I had certain add-ons, specifically one that automatically opened my Home Page whenever I opened a new tab, that I especially miss. Is it possible for me to use the earlier version of Firefox that I had before this one? I know that you think you improved your product, and maybe you did in some unknown fashion, but Henry Ford said almost 80 years ago that "change for the sake of change is not progress".

    To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
    You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
    To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
    For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • I cannot install iTunes 10.5. Get error message: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application support\webkit.resources\inspector\images\timeline Pill Orange.png"  I seem to be missing the "image file."  How to fix.

    Teh problem seems to be tht I am missing the "images" file.  Installs to that point and stops.

    That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
    XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
    Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
    Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Firefox 4 seems to have omitted the little progress bar at the bottom right of the monitor which indicated how close you were to getting the web site you had just clicked to retrieve. What happened to it?

    In former versions of Firefox, there was a little rectangular window at the bottom right of the screen which got progressively filled with green squares as your latest command was being processed. This enabled you to know that the computer had received the command and roughly how close it was to completing the requested task. No such window appears in Firefox 4. Was that omitted or do I have to do something to get it back?

  • Firefox 4 seems to action on some html tags that are included within a html comment tag which it should not.

    Consider the following html code where I open a textarea and include a comment tag within the textarea. Within the comment tag (which Firefox 4 should ignore) I've included a close textarea tag. Firefox 4 (unlike FF3 and IE) closes the textarea.
    The following code is also available at
    http://www.cems.uwe.ac.uk/caa/ffbug/index.html
    We are about to start a textarea....<p>
    <pre><nowiki><textarea rows='20' cols='40'>
    Here is the textarea.
    Inside these comment blocks I'll put a close textarea tag which Firefox should ignore but does not.
    <p>
    <!--
    We are now inside comment blocks...
    <br>
    This code should be inside the text area.<br>
    </textarea>
    <br>
    and so should this code be <b>inside</b> the text area (but is not in Firefox 4).
    -->
    </textarea>
    <p></nowiki></pre>
    This code should be outside the textbox.

  • New Firefox seems to be missing the ability to create a new bookmark folder--any help is appreciated.

    I just updated to the new Firefox, and now, when I try to create a new bookmark folder, the option is no longer there (I can see all my old folders, but the option "New folder," which used to be on the bottom of the drop-down menu, is gone. Nor do I see it anywhere else.

    Hi, Matt,
    I really appreciate the speedy response. I did go into the Bookmarks Folder of the Knowledge Base, but actually don't see any article (I skimmed each of them) that deals with folders. The frustrating thing is that I've been able to create bookmark folders with no problem up until I updated Firefox to the latest version yesterday. Now the option to create a new folder does not appear.
    I'm enclosing a screen shot of the dialog box; previously, when adding a bookmark, an option to "create folder" would appear at the lower left of this box.
    I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious. I really appreciate your time.
    Best,
    Kathy

  • Updated Firefox and seem to have lost the "restart w/ previous session" option. Can I reactivate this feature without risk?

    This convenient feature was in the previous version but does not appear in the current. Is it just gone or now must be chosen from a secret menu ... or what? Any thoughts suggestions or efforts to assist will be much appreciated.

    Hi moodzw,
    You should try typing this in the address bar:
    about:home
    Set that page as your home page and restart Firefox. If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].
    Hopefully this helps

  • When going to a # link in the same page, Firefox 4 seems to jump to the wrong spot, and I have to scroll to find the actual anchor, usually one screen down.

    Visiting the Apple developer site, pages have a task list at the top of a very long page. When I click on a task which is linked to an anchor on the same page, the screen briefly flashes up the intended topic, then redraws content about a screen above what I wanted, so I have to scroll down to the topic I wanted to read.

    It happens when I open the topic in a new tab. There's a sidebar that's not drawn when the initial flashup happens. Then the sidebar draws and the content gets pushed down so the topic I wanted is now below the visible screen.
    When I jump to the anchor in the original tab, the sidebar is already there, and it goes to the right topic.

  • How to I completely uninstall an old bonjour program that seems to be missing the "bonjur.msi" file.  My PC uninstall/install program will not give me access to it without that file.

    I am trying to uninstall an older version of bonjour from my older pc but I keep getting a message "the installation package bonjour.msi cannot be found ina folder from which I can install the program."  I tried to reinstall ITunes hoping to be able to download the newest version -- which may remove the older version---, but it will not finish the installation without those old Bonjour files being removed.  Any help out there to get these files removed?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I have the latest version of firefox and I tried to follow the instructions for cookies, only the instructions seems out of date. How do I fix this?

    I have to adjust my cookies and I found the instructions on your site. When I followed the instructions, I found that it seems for an older version and not the new one. The privacy settings are not the same as they once were and I can't make any adjustments to may cookies except to delete them.
    What I could do was go to the 'Firefox' tab at the top left corner, go to history, Clear recent history, and so on. I can't make any adjustments to a single cookie. It's all or nothing.
    Are there any other ways for me to make the adjustments?

    To restore the classic menu bar, you can do any of these:
    orange Firefox button > Options > Menu Bar
    tap the Alt key > View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
    right-click a blank area of the tab bar or navigation bar > Menu Bar
