Firefox 4 will not go to selected webpage; it just stays on the same page. I had to go back to Internet Explorer.

When I booted my computer up from cold and click firefox to run it sat there and tryed to load instead it sits there and does the nor responding thing. I have totally uninstalled the program a few times and re installed a new download and the same thing happen. I can not run firefox any longer and i have run it everyday for a very long time. This seems to be the only program with an issue.
None of the stuff in " http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite " helps. I have tried and tried and I have even wipe the computer clean still didn't help. I got the same problem as he/she has got in the first posted. Can add some web pages but not all the web pages I want.. I should have never updated to 3.6.13... That's when it all started for me, from that version..... Now Version 3.6.14 is out, I was hoping the version 3.6.14 might would fix the problem wrong again....
Funny thing is i can not even Bookmark Firefox.com!!!!!...lol
So any ideas on how to fix it other than the link giving would help.

Firefox will not show links to flv files. I get the error message for each flv file: "File not found. Firefox can't find the file at http:// (path) .flv." Any mov and swf files in this same path will show. I can see the videos in Safari so the paths are correct.
Is this a webpage that contains a link to a flv file? Please post a link to the page and tell us which link(s) are the problem flv files or else post a link to the .flv file itself.
Alternately, click on one of the sample FLV File links on this page and tell us exactly what happens:

It might also help if you post the exact error message, including the path to the flv file.

Depending on how you have Firefox set up, clicking on a FLV File link will either save the FLV file to your computer or Firefox may open it automatically in an external application right after downloading (Firefox may ask you first). What kind of peripherals are you connecting? Sometimes if an external device is drawing too much power, then it will shut down one of the USB ports. Make a test connecting two usb flash drives, it should work ok.

I try to open up another webpage on the same window, by clicking on the + Tab Button next to the current webpage Im viewing. For some reason it will not do anything. It will not open up.
This problem has been associated with the Ask toolbar. You could try disabling it here:
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions
You may want to update to 3.6.17 to take advantage of security fixes. -
Shape does not stay on the same page
How do I get shapes to stay where I put them? Specifically:
1) How can I draw *circles around words* and make them STAY around those words, even when I add text and page-breaks above those words?
2) How can I draw *arrows ON my pictures* and make them STAY on my pictures, even when I add text and page-breaks above those pictures?
My dilemma is that "+moves with text+" ensures that they stay in the same place, even when I add text or page-breaks above the circles and arrows, BUT the circles and arrows are treated as text and I can't place them AROUND/ON my words and pictures.
The only other setting, "+fixed on page - no object wrap+" lets me place circles and arrows to be AROUND/ON my words and pictures (instead of beside), but they don't move WITH my text and pictures.
ARGH!!!!

And the feature I'm describing (having a shape linked to text so that it moves with the text) is a feature I have used in MS Word. In their terms, you "anchor" your shape to a spot in the text. When that spot in the text is moved, the anchored shape moves with it.

Firefox will not copy pictures from webpages

Also if I rollback Firefox to ''version 11.0'' It will work properly and not just paste in the picture URL. So it's made obvious that there is another bug with Firefox 12.0.As a new feature in Firefox 12, when you copy an image, Firefox stores HTML code for the image so that it can be pasted into Gmail (and presumably some other online rich text editors). As you have discovered, there were some unintended side effects to this change. Your best workaround for Word is to use the Paste Special feature. In Word 2003 and earlier, it's on the Edit menu. In Word 2007 and later, use the little drop-triangle under the clipboard icon. -
Firefox crashed. Closed all my windows - did the auto update thingy with accompanying message. Brought up the windows that had closed as usual - all said "problem loading page". Firefox will now not connect to internet. It's not a problem with my connection etc - internet explorer is working fine. Anyone else have this problem today?

is a very common problem and I find it hard to believe Apple has not responded with a fix. I may have to take it into a Genius Bar and see what they can do but I do not have high hopes.

Some webpages, for example newegg.com, will not open at all. But if I close ff and then restart ff - newegg.com will load up almost instantly. Yahoo's pages have problems as well - especially if there is a video with a news article. Many times - there simply wont even be a placeholder. I will read the article - and then realize there should be a video accompanying it - I'll have to view in IE - which I hate.
I can press ctrl for a new tab but otherwise a new tab does not open. I actually need help regarding this new Synch which apparently will be in Firefox automatically in an upcoming version so I am asking how that will synch with people who use LastPass-of course because I use this very successfully and really am not eager to change the set up that I have in place at this time.
I have read through endless FAQ trying to find anyone else who has this question or concern but have found nothing. Can you please tell me how that service will get along with LastPass which does basically the same thing as Synch-it is probably spelled wrong as it looks wrong to me but if I click back to where this issue began, I will lose all of this question so please respond for the upcoming service synch. -
The sound works -- it's just that video is replaced by a solid green screen.
I found the problem, and I don't think it is with Firefox or Adobe. I have Radeon Graphics running on a Intel Core i7 computer and I was able to solve this problem by opening the Catalyst Control Center and clicking on one setting and applying.
Open your Catalyst Control Center (it may be an icon on your desktop, in the start menu, or accessed via right clicking the desktop and selecting "Graphics Properties") and click on the "power" icon. From there you select "Switchable Graphics", and there should be an area for "recent applications". If you do not see any recent applications, I would re-download the flash player, access a website that uses it, and then retry the above instructions. There should be a "button" to the right of the Flash Player Application and select it until it says "power saving" and select apply. I also tried using "high performance" as a setting and the green screen remained. I am using Catalyst Control Center version 2011.1205.2215.39827, and cannot say if the above instructions will work with any other version. -
Last time (a few weeks ago) I had to uninstall firefox and reinstall it. Today I moved the last version to the trash and reinstalled the new version, but it still won't work. I obviously can't do this every time there is a new update. When I click on firefox, the icon bounces in the dock (like it's trying to open), and then nothing happens.

my firefox was working fine till about 5 days ago and when i tried to open it up it would not. No matter how many times i clicked it. It would never open. I then proceeded to uninstall the program and then i redownloded it. I never got the set up wizard to pop up to finish. I have now tried to redownlod it again and still no change. I have the Icon on my computer but it will not open. Also I have even tried to uninstall it again and it will not uninstall. PLEASE HELP!!

I installed Firefox today and as of yet, I haven't been able to use the Enter button in the address or search bar. I can use every other key except that one.
