Firefox 4 won't open on my Mac; says it's not compatible with my system (Mac OS4)
I read the system requirements for Firefox 4. My mac should be compatible. I had Firefox 3.6? on my mac. Am running Mac OS 10.4.11. I downloaded Firefox 4; when I tried to install, it said there was a "newer" version of the software on my machine (but it is/was version 3.6) and asked if I still wanted to proceed. I said yes, thinking Version 4 would replace 3.6. Well, it did this. Now, Firefox is in my apps folder, but the icon has a / sign across it and the app won't open up. Just says it cannot open because it is not supported on this system.... Now what do I do? I can't go back to the 3.6 version because I can't find a version of it to download and I can't open 4. Help! How do I get Firefox back on my computer?
4.0 needs 10.5 and an Intel processor. <br />

For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

When Firefox 4 was proposed, I immediately checked the system requirements for Mac user:
"MacOS 5
MacOS 6"
So I downloaded it, since my OS is 10.5.8 (PPC), I thought I was fine. When downloaded, the Firefox icon showed a Stop sign in the middle: maybe a new logo? But when trying to open it, a window popped up saying this version was not compatible with my system. Therefore, using Time Machine, I reverted back to Firefox 3.6.16.
If this is the case, you should absolutely warn '''PPC''' users not to download Firefox 4. Your version is probably for '''Intel''' versions.
Unless you come up with a fix, I won't be able to use Firefox 4 until I change computers, having updated my system to the last possible upgrade.Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html -
I need to update my current version of firefox for the Mac and when I do it says it is not compatible for my system but I can't find anywhere that it says what the system requirements are for the new version of firefox for the Mac.

Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com
For the full system requirements see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html -
I use G4 MacIntosh, System 10.5.8. I keep getting pop-ups asking me to upgrade my version of Firefox. But when I try to install I get the message that Firefox cannot operate with my computers architecture. How can I stop the pop-ups?
I believe Firefox 4 is Intel only. That means it will not install on a PPC Mac. You can get TenFourFox, which is made for PPCs.

Want to be able to open tabs in multiple rows, rather than in a single row. I used tab mix plus before, but it says it is not compatible with New tab Homepage. The older version of Firefox allowed this very easily.

I created an image in Photoshop and saved it as the PSD file. Now when I try and open it it says it is not compatible with my version. How could this be when I created it in this version?
That depends on why it won't open. Most of the time it means the file is corrupted and unlikely to be recovered. If you saved it right after adding or copying a LOT of layers - then it might just be the layer limit and we can attempt to recover it.

I have an icon on my MAC desktop called disk utility. When I click it on it a message says it is not compatible with this version of OS X. Can I then delete this set of files?

I did upgrade and here is the current version: OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)

I thought the disk utility icon on the desktop may be related to my old software. I was going to move it totrash but it had over 2000 files and so I did know if it was still being used or could be moved to trash.
What kind of files are in there? Sounds like a carry over from your last system. DiskUtility should only be kept in Utilities with a shortcut in the dock or an alias on the desktop, idealy.
Cheers

I have an iPhone and new iPad. Epost mail will not open on my devices. Epost says Safari is not compatible with epost. Please address this issue. It is most annoying.
Hello:
You need to contact "epost." The issue is not an Apple issue....the epost software needs, I assume, to be updated.

If MF4150 is correct...

Verify or choose Yosemite 10.10 - then click the [+]
Again verify Yosemite > click agree > click [DOWNLOAD]
The rest should be self-explanatory

FF14.5 says it's not compatible with the Kaersky virtual keyboard and the URL adviser. I think the URL adviser is part of the anti virus. I have chose to stay with 12.0 because of these notices?
thanks. There is no Firefox 14.5, I'm assuming you mean Firefox 14.0.1?
As to your question, you should always update your Firefox, as it fixes security holes that can leave you and your data at risk. As to the Kapersky, you should be able to update firefox, then update Kapersky and your Kapersky add-ons will work. I should mention though that the Kapersky add-ons are not part of your actual anti-virus protection, and do little to nothing to protect you. Even if they are disabled your anti-virus application still runs just fine and you are still protected from threats. You should update to Firefox 14.0.1 (and subsequent releases) as soon as possible. -
