FireFox 5.0 with Yahoo - clear history works OK with Tools BUT

When I enter say "Yahoo.com" it show about 4 entries in the
browser drop down - it appears nothing here is being deleted
and keeps on adding more - how to clear this what I call
is my browser history - it shows all for months on back ? ?

'''''Thank you - it is the location bar history (not the browser history) for
windows 2000 - the highlight and delete won't work and all on the location
bar seem to be starred weather they are bookmarked or not '''''

I installed Firefox sync and then used iphone app called FireFox Home and I can syncronize history, tabs and bookmarks. But I am NOT able to syncronize passwords from Firefox in my Macbook to FireFox Home on iPhone so I am very terrible to input my IDs and Passwords with my hands on FireFox Home when I log into Facebook, Twitter etc... Is it issue or something like that? If you have some solutions to make it clear, can you tell me how to syncronize memorized IDs and Passwords for the webs. Thank you.

Hey thanx for the help, it worked like a charm.
I think firefox changed the application lay out, as I used to be able to choose my PDF opener from the list at " Adobe Acrobat Forms Document' where I could choose Nitro-PDF reader, but it has now moved all the way to the bottom like you suggested to the obvious place of "Portable Document Format" section.
If someone didn't tell me , I wouldn't have scrolled all the way down to be able to find it... it really should be with all its cousins up the top...
    Cheers again..

  • Cannnot exit firefox, maximize or minimize without clearing history. Also cannot adjust desired time on videos such as fast foward, rewind or maximize screen.

Firefox started acting weird like this two days ago. Like I said, videos are being made to be watched all the way from the start with no option to adjust desired time, as well as the top right X esc button on the firefox browser, maximize and minimize will not work as well until the history is cleared. I just reset firefox and it is still having the same complications. Also before, I was able to center click the mouse wheel to open new tabs and thus it is not working any more. All help is greatly appreciated.

  • IPad background is red rather than black. I cleared history and cookies and restarted but the background is still red.  How do I fix this?

IPad had a black background.  I lost the internet yesterday and now that it is back up and running, my IPad background is now red.  I cleared history and cookies and  restarted and it is still red.  Software is up to date according the the IPad.  How do I get my black background back?

Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox

  • My browsers keep freezing up until I have to forcequit. Firefox freezes at start-up and safari works for a bit but usually freezes when opening tabs. When I try to submit a crash report in either case, it always tells me "submission failed".

This started yesterday night. I tried to restore firefox to yesterday morning's time machine version, but no dice. No idea what's causing it, I haven't installed anything.
The refusing to submit my crash reports really confuses. I don't know if it's applicable to everything or just browsers - browsers are the only thing that have crashed.
    Thanks for the help!

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • Since I upgraded to the new Firefox, the Chat on Yahoo no longer works.

I upgraded to the newest Firefox for my Dell computer with Windows 7.
When I went to use the chat section of my Yahoo email page...the chat section will NOT work.
When I went back to the Explorer (instead of Firefox)..it works fine.
The new upgrade did something to the upgrade of Firefox.

    Hi,
Please try changing the '''Options''' > '''Messenger Options''' > '''General''' between Small Window and Tab in Yahoo. The Tab setting opens the chat window in a new tab on the right side of the last tab. Also try a '''Ctrl''' + '''F5''' refresh if necessary.

Problems with Flash content, media files (Facebook photos etc.), streaming media (iPlayer) and MobileMe/iDisk uploads

    Hi Tracy,
I don't suspect Malware yet, Id guess Disk corruption or failing Hard Drive with Files not found.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

It keeps saying that is having conection problems and will return, but it hasn't. I downloaded the yupgrade today. Logged off a website and then it would not load firefox again. I have to ouse interet explorer. However it works fine on the other user accounts on my computer.

Is your iMac OS current?  Your MBP isn't:  (10.6.2)
Use Software Update to update your OS to last version of Snow Leopard - OS 10.6.7.  Install all the other updates that goes along w/it.

  • I have just downloaded Firefox and browsed with it but in the box headed 'a little housekeeping' the green line is only approx 90% complete. Does this matter please?

Today I downloaded Firefox and successfully accessed my online bank account which IE wouldn't allow me to do so. However, whenever I logon, the box headed 'A Little Housekeeping' appears which has the green line indicating the progress of a little housekeeping frozen at 90% completion. Does this matter?

So what could be causing it to crashin SQL/PLUS through PUTTY? This makes no sense to me.
I've also ran it through the code formatter, as this will often show the ugly face of something that is hidden. But no such luck.

I removed the one that was listed, thinking that it was implicit to that line. BUT of course, I just went back and removed EVERY empty line, even between the comments and all...and it worked.
So the lesson here is that PL/SQL could care less about white space, but SQLPlus is picky....
Thanks. :)Exactly. And I have to make note of that in my written procedure for restoring some of our test databases from a cold backup of production. Turns out the control file trace script (backup controlfile to trace) inserts a blank line ... then sqlplus chokes on it when executing ..

  • How can i clear history. also how can i make Firefox my default browser

i had some answers from i think from one of your Forums, however i must not of had the steps clear. there are really had those clear

If you want to clear history go to Settings-->Tools-->Privacy-->Clear Data and now choose what you would like to remove.
And if you want to set firefox as your default browser try this article [[Make Firefox the default browser on Android]]

  • Can't get Firefox to not remember my browsing history.

My Firefox browser settings (under tools and options) are that it should never remember my browsing history.
Nevertheless, every time I open Firefox (even after the browser has been closed and the computer shut down) and open a new tab, there is a grid of tiles showing sites that I have previously visited. Also, if I click on history I can see my browsing history.
If I go to options and clear history, these things disappear. But after a period of browsing, they are back, even with the setting "never remember history."
How can I get Firefox to respect this setting and not remember my browsing history?
(I have tried creating a new profile, but this hasn't changed anything.)
    Thanks for any advice,
    Matthew

You can set another page as the new tab page by modifying the browser.newtab.url pref om the <b>about:config</b> page.
See this article about the New Tab page (about:newtab):
Do you have any software installed on your computer like Advanced SystemCare that might be causing this?

  • Clearing the "Work Offline" checkbox

I just installed Maverick Meerkat, which comes with
    Firefox 3.6.10. I have a dial-up connection, which
does not depend on Ubuntu's Network Manager.
Whenever I start Firefox, the "Work Offline" box is
checked, whether I'm already connected to the Internet
or not. If I uncheck the box and start a new instance
of Firefox, the box will be cleared in the new window.
But if I close Firefox before opening it again, the box
    will always be checked.
I went into Firefox's about:config page and changed
    "browser.offline" and "browser.offline-apps.notify" from
"true" to "false", with no change in behavior.
I also turned off startup of Network Manager at logon
    with no change in behavior.
How do I get that checkbox to start out clear?
    -- Jeff, in Minneapolis

There was no existing entry for network.manage-offline-status,
so I tried changing toolkit.networkmanager.disable, and so far
    it has worked.
    Thank you!
