Firefox 5 on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop locks up. Have not be able to get on the internet for days.

I have used Firefox for 3 years on all my computers. However, Firefox 5 on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop locks up. I want to uninstall it and use an earlier version. Also, the "key' in the address bar to 'remember the password' for this site will NOT behave! No matter what I do, it continues to crop up. I dislike Firefox 5 because it is causing me delays, using up my time with constant problems. What previous version do you recommend I use?

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)

I have not been able to get to the Firefox Sync setup page. I can't find the right Firefox button to push. A number of buttons and Can't see "Set Up Sync"

I have tried to find the page where I can click on the Firefox button and get to the "Set Up Sync" page. I have tried every Firefox home page and web page I can find and there is no button that gets me to the "Set Up Sync" page. Please help me. I just got a win.7- 64 bit laptop. I have a T3 Palm. What version of Palm desktop should I install on my new laptop? I know there is a program written by Dimitry to be able to use a 64 bit machine. Can anyone tell me which desktop version to use? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Your response addressed how to fix this issue with earlier windows operating systems, but not for windows 8, so what ended up working for me was your advice applied a little differently. For anyone running windows 8 needing to know how to resolve this issue by repairing the Apple Application Support program, try following these simple steps - what a relief it was to have itunes working again after applying b noir's answer to the windows 8 operating system!
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Control Panel.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.)
2. Click the Programs and Features icon.
3. In the list of programs and features, find the Apple Application Support feature and click to select it.
4. In the gray title bar above it, click Repair.
5. Approve the window prompts that follow until the repair has been completed.
6. Relaunch iTunes.

Thx for suggestion... but it is two fingers on this one, and please note that scrolling works fine in Chrome and IE... the issue seem to be related to Firefox browser in some way.

Firefox automatically updated on my home computer last week and I have not been able to log on to Firefox since. I get a crash notice immediately.

It always updates automatically but this time it seems that Firefox won't work at all now. I cannot log in to even send this to you. I had to come to work to do it so I don't have a crash ID here because I didn't know I needed it. I have only used Firefox for several years now and am upset that this update messed it all up.I used to use Thunderbird also (which I loved) but I have over 750 e-mails that can't seem to download (they downloaded from the server, but couldn't get into Thunderbird. The first message took over 10 minutes...so I don't use it either because all my messages line up after those 750. Nobody can seem to fix that either)

I initially used the swipe gesture to go to the full screen, and since then have not been able to revert to the screen where I can see my program icons. I have reverted to using Firefox. Any suggestions?

When I installed OS 10.7.1 I used the gesture in Safari which displays the full screen. Since then I have been unable to revert this action in order to see my program icons. I have had to use Firefox since then. Any suggestions? Or will I have to wait for an upfate?

I recently upgraded some Adobe software (and I can't remember which one) and since that time, I have not been able to get videos on Firefox. I still can on Safari. What gives?

I'm sorry I can't remember which software I was requested to update....but it was an Adobe product. Now, Firefox is a little slow and fluky and I can't get videos at all. Sometimes, I can't google--it freezes, but intermittently.

Have you tried 4) and 6) on the list?
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.
