Firefox 5 touch support, how do i enable it?
on version 4 you could enable touch support, How or can I use touch on version 5, this is a major feature that I use for work everyday and I do not want to have to change browsers just for this reason.
It appears to be in the experimental stage at the moment as far as I can tell and a fully fledged version won't become available until Firefox 6.0 is released on August 16. That's my assumption based on the following docs.<br><br>

The reason I'm guessing it's still in the experimental stage is because if you look at the foot of the page under the heading "Gecko Notes" in the second link above, you'll see the following setting: '''dom.w3c_touch_events.enabled'''.
However, I've just checked in '''about:config''' and that value is not present in Firefox 5.0.1
But please hang on for a few hours until one of the Moderators arrives (either ''co-rel, the-edmeister or tonyAE'') and perhaps they can shed a bit more light on the subject.

You could consider temporarily disabling ''no script'' by using
* Firefox button -> Add-ons -> | Extensions| ... [disable]
As a more general note it is worth trying firefox's [[safe mode]] and also using the default theme, and disabling any plugins.

How can I enable multitouch support in Firefox for Windows 7?
I'm running Windows 7 Pro on a Fujitsu Q550 tablet. I would like multi-touch support, which supposedly was tried in Firefox 4 beta 3. I can't find an installer for that to try it out myself, and I don't seem to be getting the desired results from either the current Firefox (9) or the current beta for it (2). Does it exist as a feature that just has to be enabled? Is there another way (or another browser) that supports multi-touch on Windows?

So recently I have had a problem with Firefox crashing all the time and found out it was an add-on that was causing the problem.
I have tried opening Firefox in safe-mode to disable add-ons but they are already disabled, so I want to know how to enable an add-on and then to permanently disable it so Firefox will open normally again. . .

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

How can I enable high contrast themes in Firefox WITHOUT high contrast on the Windows Desktop?
Firefox 4.0 broke one of the best accessability addons that existed, AnyColor. Now I'm stuck with the closest I can get to it, a non-customizable theme which gets some things right but other things wrong.
Naturally, I'd like to make my browsing as comfortable as possible to my low-vision eyes. I thought that the reported "high contrast" Firefox theme might help. Unfortunately, it seems that the only way to turn this on is to turn on high contrast themes in Windows-- and I have adjusted my Desktop so that I don't need them. Unfortunately that would seem to be the only way to get it in Firefox.
Is there a secret way to force high contrast themes? The best solution for low-vision users, of course, would be to officially support AnyColor, or an addon like it.
As an interim solution I'm using Purple Fox, which at least has the feature of being light text on a black background, and has visible tab close boxes; but it has fuzzy edges and twiddly graphics all over the place. It's not bad, it's just not really good. But having tried all of the themes with the word "dark" or "black" in the descriptions, it may be the closest to a working LV theme.

As a point of interest, Chromium on Ubuntu recently started supporting touch-scrolling for web pages and throughout it's interface.
dom.w3c_touch_events.enabled sends touch events to the webpage, which is less important to me right now. In fact, others have reported that in situations where Firefox has touch-scrolling, enabling that option breaks the touch-scrolling for webpages that listen for the touch events (hence the default being 'disabled').
I'd really like to know if native touch-scrolling is possible under Linux as my current setup is functional but not ideal. -

I just installed Firefox 5 on my Macbook, and I'm trying to enable inline autocomplete (like that found in Chrome, IE, and Safari). Digital Persona went out of the touchpad software business without doing an updated version of their software for IE9 and Firefox 4.0 - so later versions of Firefox aren't supported either.
