  • Received the following Error Msg: Platform Version '6.0' is not compatible with minVersion =6.01, maxVersion =6.01

When I brought up my machine this afternoon, it started to download 6.0.1 and then I received an error msg from ZoneAlarm requesting that I upload an error file. • I tried opening firefox this morning which it would not let me do, instead I received an error message that read: error-Platform version 10.0.1 is not compatible with minversion =10.0,maxversion =10.0" I am not sure what I can do. Thank you

I noticed that firefox updated last night before I shut down my computer, then when I turned it on this morning I received the error message I described above. It will not let me open firefox.

I solved the problem by reinstalling the updated version and it now works fine. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

This problem occurred shortly after updating to Firefox 5.0 I kept getting reminders to update to 5.0 When I finally decided to update, the first 4 or 5 attempts failed for one reason or another always with a different error message At some point after and extended shutdown of the computer 5.0 was initiated.

  • Firefox doesn't start and I get this: "Error: Platform version '18.0.1' is not compatible with minVersion = 18.0 maxVersion 18.0

Firefox worked and then when I shut down and restarted I suddenly started getting this message. What can I do?

Such an error is always caused by inconsistent files in the Firefox program folder (application.ini and/or platform.ini and possibly others) and your only option is to reinstall that version of Firefox, either via the software repositories or the Mozilla server.<br />
Be sure to delete all files in that folder before copying the files from that tar.bz2 archive.<
