Firefox 7.0 incompatibility with ZoneAlarm

I just received a notification that Firefox 7.0 is available.
When the installation starts, it gives a warning that: ZoneAlarm Security Engine 1.5.324.0 is incompatible and will be disabled if Firefox 7.0 is installed.
I imagine the consequences of continuing with the installation will disable ZoneAlarm.
When will this problem be overcome?
I won’t update Firefox if it disables my system security?

'''jbility''':
Zone Alarm has a "screwy" way of dealing the their toolbar updates under Firefox's "rapid release" program
*The Zone Alarm toolbar is compatible with only one Firefox version at a time since the release of Firefox 4
*There have been 2 versions of Zone Alarm version 10.1.079.000
**The '''''first Zone Alarm 10.1.079.000''''' toolbar was compatible only with Firefox 9
**The '''''current Zone Alarm 10.1.079.000''''' toolbar is compatible only with Firefox 10
*You must download and install the entire Zone Alarm version to get the compatible toolbar for Firefox 10

I recently upgraded to firefox V8.00 now my Zone Alarm community tool bar site check button is greyed out.

Hi, you need to ask Zone Alarm when their product will be compatible with Firefox. It is their responsibility to update Zone Alarm.

  • Is the latest firefox down load compatable with zonealarm extreme

I would like to know is the newer firefox which keeps telling me i need to update to compatible with my security package which is zone alarm extreme?

It is the other way in the program and any Extensions it provides for Firefox in needing to be compatible with a new major Firefox Release.

  • Firefox will not start, even in Safe Mode. Evidence suggests that this is due to an incompatibility with the latest update of Java.

Firefox will not start in WinXP. (I am sending this from an alternate browser.)
I believe that this is due to some incompatibility with the latest update of Java. I believe that one of the tabs from my previous session included a Java application, and this is causing the difficulty. In recent days, since the last update of Java, I have had difficulty in loading linked pages with Java applications into Firefox, and have needed to switch to a different browser to do this.
Now I cannot even start the browser, presumably due to the presence of a Java application on one of the restored tabs.
When I now try to start Firefox, my ZoneAlarm security s/w presents the message "Java(TM) Quick Starter binary is trying to access the Internet." I click "Allow", but Firefox will not start. If I click "Deny", the same result. The same thing happens when I try to start Firefox in Safe Mode, I cannot even start Firefox in Safe mode.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== after recent update of Java

You can try to disable the Java Quick starter and the Java Console extension in the Control Panel > Java.
Control Panel > Java > Advanced tab > Miscellaneous >Java Quick Starter (disable)
You can also disable the Java plugin in Firefox: Tools > Add-ons > Plugins

  • Is Firefox 4.0 now compatible with ZoneAlarm Browser 1.5.260.0 and Windows Vista Home Premium, 64Bit System, Service Pack 2?

Is Firefox 4.0 now compatible with ZoneAlarm Browser 1.5.260.0 and Windows Vista Home Premium, 64Bit System, Service Pack 2? Earlier when checking for updates there were compatibility issues. Were these issues resolved to allow me secure operation with Firefox 4.0?

I also am a zone alarm user and was not to happy about the issue with 4.0
I use sky .fm for music and was not happy when it would not play. required update to latest flash, which didn't work no matter what. even the suggestion in another thread.

  • Captivate incompatibility with Firefox

Is there a chance of Adobe solve, for the version 9, the incompatibility between the content generated by Captivate and Firefox browser? Or is there a productive solution for this incompatibility?
It is a shame for a so expensive product, from a so respected company, to present some very basic problem such as incompatibility with a so important and use browser, which has 25% of the global market share of browsers. What I read in the Adobe Community forums is users working around this issue with limitations in the use of Captivate features and making changes in the Captivate code. If it was a free software, I would understand this kind of fact. But for a so expensive product, it is simply unacceptable, especially because I cannot find any explanation or excuses from Adobe about it.
Please, if someone has some productive solution for this Captivate x Firefox issue, responde this question.

I believe it is due to Mozilla not wanting to pay for the licensing of the MP3 audio files, among other things.
I've seen workarounds for Cp6 but haven't yet replicated the efforts in Cp8's newer installation files.

  • Just updated to firefox 5.0 and my google toolbar has disappeared, went to reinstall it and error message says google toolbar is incompatable with firefox 5.0. Any solutions? Thanks

Last night I opened firefox and it said there was an update (5.0) available, so I updated. When I opened the browser this morning the google toolbar was missing, so I went to the google site and tried to download the google toolbar for firefox. A message appeared in the next to a piece of green jigsaw saying the google toolbar is incompatable with firefox 5.0. Is there some way to make it compatable? Regards, Peter.

You would need to install the Addon Compatibility Reporter, but you need to start working on those workarounds because ...
'''The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up''', you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.

*the-edmeister posted a brief evaluation of the situation<br>https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/841736
In any case you can find several alternative solutions, and you can start working on them now, see

  • Should I upgrade Firefox from v 8.0.1 to v 11.0 which is incompatible with ZoneAlarm Add-on, or continue to wait?

Have not upgraded Firefox because get warning of Incompatible Add-on -- ZoneAlarm Security Engine 1.5.350.0 . OS = Windows XP; ZoneAlarm current version; Firefox = v 8.0.1 . Want to upgrade Firefox but concerned about the ZoneAlarm not providing protection. Please advise.

This solved the issue. Installed latest ZoneAlarm that just became available. Then was able to update to Firefox v11.0 with no issue of the ZoneAlarm add-on being incompatible. Thank you!!!

  • Is there a way to create hyplinks in documents automatically with firefox, as you can with IE?

Is there a way to create hyperlinks "automatically with Firefox, as you can with IE (with, for example, Ctrl + K, then go to the website, then back to the document, and it automatically populates the url)?

If you create the folders as a child within the main pictures folder, then they will show up in the app separately. I have many folders with pictures in.
You will need to move the photos manually - they will automatically go in the Camera folder.
    Hope that helps.

How do I access websites that warn: "Firefox is NOT compatible with this application. For best performance, please use Internet Explorer 5.0 and above...."? When I try to download any alternate browser, all I get is another warning that the alternate is "not compatible with your operating system." Is Firefox preventing this? The site listed below is a job application site. I've had this same problem with other job application sites also.

There should be a User Agent Switcher menu item under Tools, which gives you the browser names you can impersonate.
The menu item name changes to the browser UA you are presently using.
There is also a User Agent Switcher button, you can add it using View -> Toolbars -> Customize, and dragging the button to your toolbar.
    See http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/features/ and http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/help/
You can just start trying IE versions (or the versions it says on the site) until it lets you in.

  • Compatible issues firefox v37.0.2 with att yahoo mail

Compatible issues firefox v37.0.2 with att yahoo mail
Hello: this is my first post, hope I am doing it properly.
I am using W7pro OS and ATT DSL 3.0Mbps dl
I noticed this week that I was unable to save attachments from my ATT Yahoo mail I could view them but no choice as to ware to save them--only choice (save to my comp.)But no ware to be found.
I reinstalled v 36.0.4-preventing auto upgrade-But still had same problem.
At this point contacted ATT support supervisor-we spent about 4hr working on problem--He was using your v 31.5.0--and had no problem accessing and saving attachments using remolt access on my comp.
We also found using my comp.FF v 36.0.4 & v 37.0.2 browser, that we could without any problems access an save attachments--AOL mail-- & mail2web.--& IE--Even when forwarding inaccessible mail to above sites.
He informed me that (ATT mail Yahoo)only uses resources to make them compatible with--Google IE & Chrome &Apple? (basically he was saying, that they would NOT commit resources to FF--any version)BUT he was not allowed to commit.
PS: The last time I know it worked ok was 3-18-15 I have 3 comp.2 wxp pro 1 w7 pro the same problem on all 3--so feel confident not OS related-but compatible problems with FF & yahoo mail.
The ATT support supervisor-was unable to determined the date they may have made changes on their site.without extensive research-which we decided wasn't worth the effort as they wouldn't look in to it.
I hope someone or FF will be able find a workaround-as I do not want to use the browsers they suggest. I LOVE FF.
    Thank You Gary

I have no idea what you are asking me to do ??--can you explain at a dummy
    level--I wont be offended.
