Firefox (7 and up) does not remember last download foler
Prior to firefox 7, downloaded images would continue to be saved in the same user selected folder until the user changed to location.
Firefox 7 and above changes this folder location when changing to different web pages. It appears as if firefox is attempting to determine the best folder to use based on past browsing history.
Will this be fixed, or an option added to disable this? It's very disruptive when surfing for different content and always having to check the folder before downloading.
You will have to wait a few version to have the pref browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite available to disable this new feature.

Reader 9.3.2 does not remember last page visited for scanned pdfs
Using an old school PPC Mac, OSX 10.4.11. Reader 9.3.2 does not remember last page visited for scanned pdfs. It only remembers the last page visited for searchable pdfs, but not for scanned. I have the box checked in "Preferences: Restore last view settings..." I cannot upgrade Reader on this system, or my OS, so I'm stuck using what I have for now. I have to read huge documents for my work, that will include hand written notes in the margin and other marks on the page. The documents are hundreds of pages long, so it's a bit frustrating that it can't remember the page number for this type.
Are there any fixes for this? Something else I can try?I tried to find the download for 9.5.5, but my OS is not in the list. I'm on a non-intel PPC mac. I tried finding that version on the web, but most of the links lead me back to Adobe, where it doesn't seem to want to be found. It obviously exists somewhere, but Adobe isn't making it easy to access!

I keep getting download error and it does not want to download. I tried deleting anything that might have creative suite links and reloading but I keep getting the same error message.

Hello. I am receiving "error codes" when trying to dowload songs. It charges me but the songs never download and I have restarted itunes and it does not automatically start downloading as instructed online. Help?
I don't know exactly what they said b/c they are nolonger on my screen. It said something to the effect of "incomplete dowload, there was an eror during the dowload of *Song*".
The songs purchased were showing in my purchased list with an "exclamation point" by them, which I believe indicates the download was incomplete. I restarted iTunes and the songs are no longer on my "Purchased list".

I have tried to download the podcast "Ab Trimmer" from Exercise Tv and it does not allow the download to be completed. Comes up with Unable to Download podcast prompt. I now just want this to be removed from my download list, how do I do this?
The fix was to completely remove all Apple Software following guides in previous posts.
Then download and re-install latest iTunes 64-bit, making sure to Run As Administrator.
This fixed it. Now the next thing seems to be that as I move from one device to another to close and restart iTunes between each one. Treat it gently. It seems to break easily and a lot. -
There are several sites where I now have to type in my username and password each time I return, such as turnitin.com. (I'm a teacher and use this for grading). Friefox used to be able to remember this for that site and it still works at my office where I have a windows machine. Not working on my Mac OS 10.6.8 and it is really annoying to have to retype every single time; it's not a financial site or anything so why can't the Firefox browser remember and re enter my info?
And no, turnitin does not currently support Firefox 7 but it is only up to firefox 4 and up until now firefox at least worked to remember passwords.
I looked at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Username%20and%20password%20not%20remembered and I have checked all the recommended browser settings and am not set to private browsing; the sites where this happens are not set in exceptions to remembering, and they are not set to be cleared automatically
So, what's up and why doesn't Firefox remember passwords and usernames any longer?Now up to Firefox 8 and the problem persists. Cannot go to the www.turnitin.com page and login as I used to do -- Firefox does not remember my username or password.
Still works on Windows, and with other browsers... It would be great if a fix is available. -
LR3 does not remember last filter setting
When accessing image folders in the Library module, LR3 does not remember the filter settings that were in used during the last visit. This was a great feature in 2.*. Is there any way to restore this desirable behavior?
Excellent. I don't mind them dumbing things down for the "where did my files go?" crowd,so long as they leave us the option to do things the faster way.

I click on firefox icon and it does not open
When I click on the firefox icon on the bottom of my screen nothing happens. It started acting up a few days ago. I have tried restarting the computer and it does not resolve the problem. I shut down the computer and restarted and was able to access firefox when clicking on the icon. When I existed and later tried to access firefox again nothing happened.
Can you start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> by holding down the Shift/Options key?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that works.

Windows 7 does not remember last "Save As" location
It's really the only thing I want my machine to do– just remember the last place I saved to- nothing else really!

Bridge does not remember last folder opened upon reboot of the OS
I recently re-installed Win 7 64 on a new HD, and after all the folderol of that operation (Windows updates, SP1 etc) Bridge does not seem to remember where it was when the computer is rebooted. When I open Bridge, all I get under Favorites/Folders is Desktop and Computer, under which I have to run down all the HD's, folders, subfolders again to find where I was last. It works correctly in XP but not Win7 64 Ultimate.
Am I missing something in the setup?Yep.
Checked XP and it is unchecked there as well.

This webpage [http://example.com http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/central/ ]shows what Firefox 4 should look like. My Firefox 4 does not have the menu items grouped and I have no app tab. All in all, my Firefox 4 is not what it should be... does anyone know why this might be and how I should go about fixing it? thanks :)
To get the new UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them. -
My disk on my computer said there was no more space. It wanted me to force quit what I was using. When I did that, firefox lost all my history in sites and bookmarks. I can't make bookmarks when I press the star. It won't let me. It won't save my history of any site. I tried reinstalling firefox on my computer but it did not work. The back and forward buttons do not work, so i have to re-type the site of use another tap. I basically can't customize cause these buttons and things do not work.
If there is no space please free up some space, free space especiall over to c drice (System drive) is really necessary not only for firefox but for each and every program, for instance if I am right your computer must be running slow right now.
Once you have free up some space I would also recommended you to basically check "Is your antivirus is uptodate ???" if it's not please update it.
If problem persist I would recommended downloading a fresh latest version of firefox from www.mozilla.org

Finder does not remember last save location.
Hi all,
When you save a file into a folder, the finder default remembers this location so that this is the new default patch when you save or save as the file again or save a new file.
On a business mac, this is not working for one account. The other account that runs on the make does not have any problem.
Anyone an idea how to fix this for the user?Ever get a reply to this? It's driving me crazy, I don't remember this in previous versions of the OS. Thanks! E

Firefox 8 upgrade file does not start after downloading it.
I am using Firefox 3.0.19. I tried to download the .exe for firefox 8 in order to upgrade, but when I start the exe, the only window that pops up is asking if I want to run the upgrade under this user or another. When selecting my user (I have admin rights), the window closes and nothing happens.
Do I first need to uninstall Firefox 3 ?
And also, will my bookmarks be kept when upgrading (of course without first uninstalling ff 3). Or which file should I backup and where should I place it back?Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You may have to start the installer as administrator via the right-click context menu: Run as Administrator
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
