My life was in that tool bar. I can't log into any site now. I need this tool bar. Not to mention, I paid for it.

Firefox 4 destroyed my Norton tool bar and I cannot access my passwords
don't like the way it no longer allows the delete function in email, my saved passwords in Norton security are gone; too cumbersome
Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

After automatic installation of Firefox 19 the Norton Toolbar has disappeared.
The extension of Norton Toolbar 2013.2.4.2 has been set off.
I use Windows XP, everything is fully updated including Norton Live Update, but nothing works.
You can find the same problem with older versions by others.
Why don't they work together to avoid that my weekend vanishes in searching for solutions.
All these automatic 'solution finders' are a ruin for an old user.
Perhaps you can help, thank youThank you all for your reactions. This morning the problem is solved by the helpdesk of Norton Symantec. The problem on my Vaio XP was extra: the old toolbar was set off by Firefox, but could't be removed.
Therefore they had to remove Norton completely and then reinstall the whole program.
That deliverd the solution: extension 2013.2.4.2 was removed and replaced bij 2013.3.1.3.
I think that these kind of problems could be avoided when we could remove the disabled extension, so it wouldn't block the new one??
My problem is now solved. I hope someone else can use this. Thank you! -
When I received notification (about a week ago) to install the latest update to Firefox, the update stated that I would lose the Norton Tool Bar with the installation of the update. The issue is that I use the Identity Safe feature in the Norton Tool Bar for the majority of my logins. To lose this feature would be a hardship. Is there any way I can maintain the Norton Tool Bar?

The norton tool bar feature which identifies problem sites
(safe web) is a good tool and has saved us from many problems.
From past experience I feel it is something I must have.
I loaded firefox 4 and while I like the program I removed it
because of the lack of that feature but would like to use FF4.That's not good enough, Tony! Firefox should have let me know before I downloaded the firefox 4. Now I can't go back to the 3.6 or what ever it was. I have gone back to IE until FIREFOX resolves the issues of compatibilty with Norton. I love my norton and will not go without it for even one day!
Adios! -
My norton tool bar has not loaded when I switched from IE to Firefox
My Norton tool bars, for phishing and Identity Safe, disappeared when I switched from IE to Firefox. I reloaded Norton to see if this would help but nothing changed.
You can import the IE Favorites via
*Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser
You can also export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.<br />
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites.
* Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
* Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

Is Norton Tool Bar supported by any Firefox version(s)?
I previously used some of the lower numbered versions of Firefox. The versions which I have used didn't support Norton Security; especially '''Norton Tool Bar.''' Are there any versions of Moxilla Firefox that DO support the Norton Tool Bar with its "Identity Safe" feature?
Thank youNorton supports Firefox 10, for details see this article from Norton support - http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-10-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/648241

Are you going to reestablish compatibility with the Norton tool bar?

Version 4 seems to have lost this compatibility, which version 3 had.It is down to Norton to make their add-ons compatible and they are working on it. Hi flkeen, Did you try to uninstall that program which you install to improve speed ..see if that works after un install that program....and restore the firefox after uninstalling that program.
see link here for reset firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-preferences-fix-problems?esab=a&s=restore+firefox&r=1&as=s#w_solution-1-reset-firefox-to-its-default-state -
on my other version of firefox it gives me a tool bar with my norton stuff and one to access my yahoo page and mail. I would use this alot more if I could get that here. instead I get error messages every time I start up
You are talking about Norton Safe Web, right? Well you have a way -
Download Add-on Compatibility Reporter
(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/)
and restart Firefox. Restart Firefox again and Norton Safe Web should be enabled. -
I downloaded firefox 5 but lost my tool bars, how can i get the old version back?
I downloaded firefox 5 but lost my tool bars, how can i get the old version back? It said my tool bars are not compatible. I want them back.
That is the new appearance Firefox 4 and now Firefox 5, you can easily put things back because Firefox is customizable.
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and '''Firefox 5.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)]
