Firefox 7 + youtube

This keeps happening to me:
Can't go forward or pause the video and this happens, can anybody help me? I know there's a lot of people with problems with flash, I tried downgrading flash, unninstall and start firefox in safe mode, keeps happening. Unninstalled real player, just don't know what to do anymore.
I do have internet download manager integration though, don't know what's doing this, It started when I upgraded to the latest flash player version.

I do not have a Plugins folder in my Firefox profile, and I can still view Youtube videos with Firefox 7.
I suggest you try the following
go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550 and
download the 64-bit uninstaller
download the 64-bit installer
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller
restart Windows
delete any remaining files in
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash
now run the downloaded installer
Should be working now, without the copied dll in your Firefox profile.

  • How can I male Firefox open YouTube app for youtube pages and videos?

I tried to watch a video on youtube page, but I got a message saying that video wasn't available for mobile devices. I really wanted to watch that video, so I tried exactly the same page with android's browser... guess what? the browser sent the link to youtube app and I watched the video with no problem.
So, how can I make Firefox call youtube app instead of lie to me?
    An example: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2zI4Hl02898&feature=youtu.be&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D2zI4Hl02898%26feature%3Dyoutu.be

I just realize that it happens to vimeo too, except for the fact that there's no android little icon... and I have no vimeo app installed in my device (and I don't intend to install). And guess what (again)? Android's browser plays vimeo videos with no problem! I don't know if it calls android's video player (since it starts fullscreen right when I touch play button) or whatever, the fact is that Firefox keeps lying to me. it's disappointing... =/

  • After upgrading to Firefox 24, YouTube videos never load

I have Lubuntu 12.04 and Gnash. Up until yesterday (when Upgrade Manager uploaded the latest Firefox to version 24) all was well.
NOW, the page loads, I click on the large "Play" symbol superimposed over the video image, and all I get thereafter is the circling dots loading symbol.
Gnash gets far enough that it creates the "videoplayback__" file for the video, but it is typically only a few kb large (and it cannot be played, naturally).
If there is a workaround/solution, great - if not, please tell me how to get version 23 back (but also let me know when the problem is fixed so I can get the new fixed version)
    Thank you.
P.S. To get this question down to an acceptable size, I deleted all the printer-related Troubleshooting Information that for some reason Troubleshooter saw fit to include....
Before I did so, I was told to: "Ensure this value has at most 30,000 characters (it has 47,676)." ("Value" ???)

YouTube videos freezing up after about 30s
I am contributing the following observations both as information and in an effort to help FF find a fix for what broadly speaking is an on-going problem, but possibly not as some users have suggested specifically with FF or on the other hand with Adobe Flash. Please forgive the length.
After updating FF23.0.1 to FF24.0 and updating Adobe Flash Player from 11.8.* to 11.9.900.117 shortly afterwards I have found that when using my broadband dongle ANY YouTube video I play in FF freezes up after 26-30 seconds although the progress bar continues; if I give it long enough the screen turns green - a first for me - and I receive a message that the Adobe Flash Player has crashed. The SAME effect occurs in Google Chrome using its default Adobe Flash Player, v11.8.* (it recognizes 11.9.900.117, but I have not tried that in Chrome yet).
With Opera v12.16 and v15, however, with and WITHOUT the turbo feature on for slow connections, I have no problem with YouTube videos. In a single test using FF with an ethernet connection YouTube videos played properly. So, superficially, the problem would seem to be related to a slow connection speed with the dongle, although this does not explain the crashing of the Flash Player in FF and Chrome, but not in Opera: I have been using the dongle since December 2009 and have NEVER encountered this issue before. Also, with FF, I tried playing a flash video on another website at various qualities and the video did not freeze up. So, why this problem with YouTube? It might also be added that FF users have been reporting FF/Adobe Flash/YouTube problems for at least a few years and it is unlikely that they were all using broadband dongles. I do have some difficulty playing some Quicktime videos while using my dongle, which may also suggest an internet connection issue; nevertheless, as noted, this does not explain the persistent and unusual crashing of the Flash Player or the green-screen effect or Opera's ability to play YouTube videos.

  • Firefox opens youtube links as a file to save

While browsing youtube.com, I am getting a regularly reocurring problem. For a while it will work perfectly, but eventually when I click a link to a different video, a window will pop up prompting me to choose between saving or running a file (as if I had downloaded a rar file or something).
The file is usually named according to the action I'm doing. For instance if I type in the search bar and hit enter, it might open a file to download or run named "search" (or something similair). With videos the file is named "watch", and occasionally youtube.com's index will even try to save.
I have the Downloadhelper addon (quick download of youtube videos and conversion) installed and am wondering if maybe this is causing the problem?
Only fix I have been able to find so far is restarting the browser, which is annoying, as I have a tendency to spend hours at a tiem on Youtube.
Windows 7 32 bit, E8400, Radeon HD4850, Firefox 3.3.6 (or whatever most recent is).
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Why doesn't firefox open youtube videos, istead whole server get jam.

  • Will Firefox support Youtube in 60 fps anytime soon?

Will Firefox support watching HD-videos on Youtube in 60 fps in the near future?

I get 720p60 and 1080p60 offered in the current Nightly build that has MSE enabled by default.

  • Flash player not working in Firefox with YouTube

Help! Every since I updated to the latest version of Firefox I can no longer play any videos on YouTube - they hang and stall every few seconds and some never load at all. I have the latest version of Flash, have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, have clicked and unclicked the Global Settings options, have run Firefox in safe mode with extensions off and just Flash running and it still doesn't work. I am on a Mac running OS 10.4.11. What else can I do?

That's wierd, Adobe TV videos are much higher def than YouTube... so I have a pretty opposite behaviour at times at my end.
Could you try clicking something in the middle of the YouTube video progressbar, if the video jumps to that part and continues. Share results of that as well.
    Cheers

  • Firefox and youtube - adobe flash slowness

Recently youtube is so slow using the adobe flash. (i mean not the html5, as with html5 everything is fine). I have latest firefox 29.0.1 with latest adobe flash player. When i try to use the volume meter or pause-start the videos, it is laggy.

I have uninstalled adobe flash recently. When I need it, I start Google Chrome or Opera.
    Youtube works perfectly without flash.

  • Firefox and Youtube videos

Initially after installing Leopard Youtube videos would play fine in Firefox, now the Player window does not open in Firefox. Any ideas

No. YouTube does not use QuickTime. YouTube videos are VP3 encoded Flash videos. You need Flash Player. The current version of Adobe Flash Player (Version: 9,0,47,0) can be downloaded here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW
Moreover, the current version of Flip4Mac WMV is not fully compatible with OS X 10.5. You must use the v2.2.0.39 beta, which you can download here: http://www.flip4mac.com/wmvbetaregister.htm

  • Firefox downloads Youtube videos.

Seems with the new Youtube .webm format videos, Firefox downloads the video causing less space in the hard drive, the files are in the C:/Windows/Temp Folder

    Safari > Preferences > Security > Internet Plug-ins
Checkmark the box beside "Allow Plug-ins".
    Best.

  • Okay. youtube videos keep crashing no matter what i do. i made sure adobe was up to date, i cleared my cache and cookies even reset firefox.

only some crash though, but those that crash keep crashing over and over again at the same point. when i play then they'll start playing fine but when it get to a certain point the video will stop, the audio continues for about ten seconds then it stop too. the the screen get kinda pixelated and green then the video crashes. sometimes it ask to stop or continue plugin. please help I've googled this numerous time and simply dont know what do do anymore. ive got rid of extension that shouldn't be there and disabled unnecessary add-ons aswell

I don't know whether it will help, but Youtube uses the DASH method of sending videos in small bits. The YouTube Center extension can revert to the older method of sending the whole video as one giant file. Maybe that will work more smoothly? (Or maybe it will crash earlier???)
