Firefox 8 Crashes immediately after clicking the icon. (Won't load safemode either)

Firefox 8 crashes immediately after clicking the icon. It does not even show the windows for a second. It immediately goes to the crash reporter. I tried holding shift while opening firefox to load safemode, but the problem is still there.

Firefox 3.6.10 died it will not launch after clicking the icon nor does it launch in safe mode, unknown causes W XP.

(Laptop runing W XP SP3.) Firefox 3.6.10 died, I mean totally dead. It does not launch from any of the icons in the desktop or the quick launch bar, nor does it launch in safe mode either. I uninstalled it and tried with 4 older versions of Firefox to no avail. I defragmented the disk, I ran a full antivirus scan, also ran chkdsk but the issue persists. Looked all over the internet and Mozilla KB but found no answer, nothing that worked for me.
Going crazy because I like my Firefox browser and I can´t believe I will have to use another browser which is not as fast and which I am not used to. Please help me find a solution, I like my Firefox Browser.

Firefox crashes immediately after I try to open it. I have tried uninstalling it and installing it again, restoring my system, and nothing has worked. Help please!

After upgrading to Firefox 4 it initially worked, but I had to restore my system to deal with other issues on my laptop. After I did that, I reinstalled Friefox 4 and it is now crashing as soon as I click on the icon. I tried installing the 3.6 version which did not work. I also looked to open in safe mode, but cannot find anything relating to firefox safe mode on my computer.

Firefox not starting on clicking the icon, in windows 7, though it is listed in firewalls allowed programs list, how to make it work?

I have been using Mozilla firefox with Windows 7 and it was working fine till yesterday. But now its not responding when I am clicking on the icon. Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Firefox crashes immediately after upgrade

We upgraded firefox so the latest version last week on a few of the PCs in the office. After the upgrade, Firefox continues to fail upon launching. Creating a new Firefox profile doesn't help. This problem does occur with other users that login to the same machine. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help. Safe mode does not work either. It is just a continuous loop of crashing and we can't get past it.
Both machines with the problem so far are running Windows 7 64 bit.

Firefox crashes immediately after program startup

Tonight Firefox crashed after trying to open a new tab. Since that initial crash, I have not been able to open Firefox without it crashing within 5 seconds of startup.
I opened the program in safe mode, disabling add-ons and it still crashed. After that I updated to the latest version, (I believe) 7.0 for Mac OS X. After the update I tried opening FF but experienced the same result.
I have not tried uninstalling and re-installing, but I would hate to lose all of my bookmarks.
Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated, as I am currently stuck using Safari in the meantime, which is just.... inadequate :)

Hard drive -> Users -> Your username -> Library -> Safari
and delete both the history files present there.

I've gone through and used the Adobe cleanup tool to remove both Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat and then did a fresh install of Acrobat, but I am still getting the error.
Any suggestions that point me in the direction of fixing this issue are highly appreciated!

If you don't have any other Adobe Products installed (Like Photoshop and InDesign) then please try following steps:
Delete all the files from following folders:
C:\PrgroamData\Adobe\SLStore
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD
Launch the product and activate again.

Im having trouble downloading firefox from my internet explorer. the icon to down load wont show up.

it seems that icon to try and down load will not apear in my internet explore. i dont know whjat to do to get fire fox on this computer. im a advent firefox user and have it installed on all my computers.

Nothing. when i click on a windows in the usa language it sends me to a page with "Need help" tips and trick and about firefox. with that little monster with the world in it's chest.. but nothing poping up to "run" firefox..

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Firefox will not load up when i click the icon on my desktop, but still the same problem, i have checked and its loaded in the task manager and just wont load up, any help on this matter is strongly welcomed thank you mark

Now it will always ask if you want to Open or Save the file.
b) If already downloaded, check what's under Get Info > Open with
It should say Open With DiskImageMounter (see pic)

IChat crashes immediately after launching

Hi there,
I've already searched the forum a bit but did not found exactly what fits
my problem. On a mac of a colleague (OSX Tiger 10.4.11 on PPC), iChat 3.1.8
crashes immediately after launching the app. Strangely, the icon of the app
has the same icon as iCal. I don't know why though ...
What I've tried already: Starting with new prefs, deleting the plist-files
in the preference folder of library. Searching for the iChat cache but did not
found such a folder. Repairing the disc permissions ...

By the last version of Tiger (10.4.11), iChat should be updated along with the OS Update to 3.1.9
At 10.4.10 it was one less like you quoted (iChat version 3.1.8).
My mistake about what you posted at first.
However where you say it is working the specs don't add up here.
I would still run the Combo Installer at the OS level you are at.

IPhoto is not showing up when I click the icon

IPhoto is not responding when I click the icon. It loads and shows at the top of my header, but nothing shows up on the screen. I am able to see my photos in FINDER under iPhoto library, but not within the iPhoto program. I have already attempted to "repair my iPhoto library" and attempted to put my start up disc of iLife '11 in the drive, but it will not let me install. Any suggestions?

If the Menu bar up top is showing iPhoto then the usual reason is that the window had disappeared from sight behind the dock or similar.
Try going to SystemPreferences/Displays and choosing another resolution for your display. This will force the Mac to redraw the screen and the various windows should then show up in the centre. You can then change it back.

Firefox crashes immediately when I click on the icon

On 9/21/2011 firefox worked fine. On 9/22/2011 when I clicked on the firefox icon I immediately got the mozilla crash report. In firefox help, under firefox crashes I have followed the steps listed:
Update Firefox
Update your plugins
Update Windows
Update your drivers
Update your Internet Security software
Check for viruses or spyware
Check to see if the crash happens in safe mode
The crash still happens in Safe Mode
The crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode
Get help fixing this crash
None of these steps have helped.
Firefox does crash in safe mode.

There are quite a few reports with that crash signature:

Look like a problem with running JavaScript.
Does it happen on specific pages?
Does it help if you disable the JavaScript JIT compiler temporarily as a test?
Try to set these two prefs to false on the about:config page to disable the JavaScript JIT compiler for scripts on web pages.
javascript.options.methodjit.content
javascript.options.tracejit.content
If you still see the crashes then do the same with these two for Chrome content (browser and extensions):
javascript.options.methodjit.chrome
javascript.options.tracejit.chrome
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.
