Firefox 9.0.1 is very slow to load some pages

I upgraded from FF6 to F9.0.1 and what a mistake.
Most sites, like www.bbc.co.uk, are very slow to load.
The upgrade to 9.0.1 is the only change I have made and would now like to go back to my previous version 6.0 but i am unable to locate the files to do this with to download
Can someone either make the older version of FF available or help me to get 9.0.1 up to speed.

9 is like Windows Me.
Epic Fail.
Adding nbrs to version is not a solution.
Better to go back to 3.6 and make that better rather than get in the version race with Chrome and IE.

  • Firefox 4 beta 10 is very slow to load compared to beta 9

Since the update to beta version 10 F/F is slow/erratic on first start up. Beta 9 had improved the start up time but now were back to the slow start up. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed. After the first start up it is OK.

I don't know if what I'm seeing right now is the same issue, but beta 10 is very slow for me too, takes alot to get up and run,is very unresponsive for a long time after startup and coincidentally there's some frenetic disk activity going on,with a huge delay after keyboard or touchpad inputs-I thought it was some Testpilot study running in the background, but there is none at the moment.
I also recall a bug report from some Minefield version a while ago talking about this frenetic disk activity, wondering if this may be somehow related.

  • Recently, all pages VERY slow to load (home page 1 min+ !!)

Recently - certainly since last FF update - all web pages are painfully slow to load. Even my Google homepage can take well over a minute. Kaspersky full system scan says no viruses, trojans or malware detected. Even after page loads, it can take up to another half minute before I can interact with the page (e.g. use the scroll bar). It's driving me mad! Any suggestions highly appreciated. Many thanks.

I have been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. Slow start up page! It takes a good 45 seconds to load, and then is blank and white for another 12-30 seconds. I do not have Kaspersky. I am running Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx. I have ran scans, and they say I am bug free.
I have been to many forums and firefox "Help" pages, and nothing (I can understand anyway) has helped! This is crazy! Can someone help?

  • Firefox is good at work, but slow to load some sites at home

Running Firefox 6.0.1 on a new Windows 7 64-bit laptop. When I connect to the network at my office, everything runs well. When I come home and use my cable modem ISP connection, there are problems. Certain websites do not load, or do not load completely, or return 404 errors. I have seen this mostly on uncommon websites, such as from small businesses. Websites used by other people in my neighborhood never have problems.
Even https://plus.google.com/ sometimes doesn't load completely (pictures missing, etc.)
I guess this means that my ISP is taking too long to look up domain names and load assets. Uncommonly used sites are not in the ISP's cache, and so it takes longer for the ISP to send the assets to my Firefox 6.0.1 browser. Something like that.
The problem does not affect my other browser, IE8. Also, if I use a tool like WinMTR to verify that I can access the domain name, it seems to "warm up" so that Firefox can access it.
This was never a problem before I upgraded to Firefox 6.0. Is there a configuration setting I can change, to resolve this?

  • CF 11 very slow to load web pages - up to 10 seconds

Running CF11  Windows 2012 r2 Data center IIS 8 4Gb RAM 4 cores no adjusments have been made to default CF11 - waiting from [email protected] to send me the hotfix hf1100-3776060.123 or hf1100-3776060.jar as services keep stopping
What can I do? My CF 8 is running way faster than this
    thank you!

    Hello,
This CF11 blog entry may help:
    http://blogs.coldfusion.com/post.cfm/coldfusion-11-iis-connector-tuning
I guess CF8 is on 32 bit and CF11 on 64 bit. So you could do well to adjust the initial and maximum memory plus PermGen. These settings in CF11admin >    Server Settings > Java and JVM
Minimum JVM Heap Size (in MB) 256
Maximum JVM Heap Size (in MB) 512
    JVM Arguments
    -XX:MaxPermSize=192m
    EG 1024 3072 and 512m respectively.
Well that is not exactly CF Java tuning more of a try this and see. You could always perform some CF Java and CF tomcat monitoring to know better what values to apply.
    HTH, Carl.

  • Web pages are very slow to load airport is fine and other users do not have any problems

my macbook pro is very slow to load web pages airport is running fine and other users do not have any issues?

Likely a corrupted cache, do #12 and #13 here, if that doesn't work run through the Steps 1+

  • Safari very slow to load pages

Someone who help me with my Safari. Always that I want to go to a new page my Safari is very slow to load that page. It's loading the page for a long time without opening. I have done everything to fix it, but nothing has worked.
I have a Macbook Pro late 2011 with Yosemite 10.10.2 and my Safari is 8.0.3 version.
Here is a capture of what happens

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If the Downloads button (with the icon of a downward-pointing arrow) is showing in the toolbar, click it and then click Clear in the box that appears. The download history will be removed. Any change?
If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If Parental Controls is active for any user, please turn it off and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
Follow the instructions in this support article. Any change?
Open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the boxes marked Safari and Photos, if they're checked. Any change?
Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Firefox 12 is very slow to load pages and if two tabs are opening it lags.

Firefox 12 is very slow to load pages and if two tabs are opening it lags. I've tried everything (e.g virus, defrag, I've created a new profile in "run", etc). I've had my router/line etc all checked and after 2 weeks of cleaning/testing etc its all pointing to Firefox as the problem. Please help as it's driving me nuts.

I have the exact same problem.
Not only does it load pages very slowly, sometimes the page will stop for a good 45 seconds and stop loading, only to finish it much later.
Something is wrong with Firefox 12, it shouldn't be this slow.
How is that each version is progressively worse than the one before it?.
Stop releasing so many versions Mozilla, release one that works and build from there.

  • Safari 5.0.5 very slow to load.

safari 5.0.5 has suddenly started to become very slow with either the page taking an age to load or the page loads but the spinning wheel just carries on for ever at the end of the address bar, so if you open up another tab the thing grinds to a halt. I ve looked through all the solutions in the forum and every thing is fine apart from there is no com.apple.safari.plist folder anywhere. Also I ve tried firefox and thats equally as slow, so I tried chrome thats faster but hangs now and again. All software is bang up to date. It is nt my router because it downloads at lightening speed with files etc. Can anyone help please.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
Right or control click your MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop then click: Get Info. In the Get Info panel, where you see capacity and available, make sure you have minimum of 15% free disk space.
If that doesn't help, try Safari in another user account. Same problems there then log back into your admin account, launch Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk. (not Verify Disk Permissions). If the startup disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

  • Since upgrading to ios8, pages very slow to load, and can no longer read items in my reading list when offline. ?????

SI since upgrading to ios8, Safari pages are very slow to load, Kindle crashes upon opening, and I can no longer read saved artices from my reading list when offline. Big disappointment. Is it possible to downgrade to previous ios?

I actually managed to fix it! But unfortunately I don't know what I was that I did that helped.
Anyways, this is kind of what I did.
    1. I tried to reset form bakup via iTunes, no change.
    2. I tried to reset as a new iPhone, problem still there and reading list also as bookmarks!? (several hundred)
    3. Noticed that I could delete a bookmark, once in a while, the other times I got the 'Bookmarks are being synced. Please edit the bookmarks once syncing has completed.' message.
    4. Because I figured that it was a memory problem, I thought it made sense to delete as many as possible, witch I did.
    5. Noticed that it was more likely that I coould delete a bookmark if I restarted Safari.
    6. Notice that it was even more likely that I could delete a bookmark if I turned the Safari sync with iCould off (with option detete information on iPhone) and then back on again.
    7. When I was about half way through deleting the bookmark list I suddenly discovered that all but one of the items in my reading list was 'waiting' and one was downloading. I kind of was 'unstuck' now.
    8. I started to delete items in my reading list, but every other time I got the 'Bookmarks are being synced. Please edit the bookmarks once syncing has completed.' message.
    9. It took a while to delete all bookmarks and items in the reading list.
Hope you guys could use the info here to fix your problems too!

  • PS CC 2014 very slow to load and operate after 2014.2 update

I updated my Photoshop CC 2014 64bit today.  It was working perfectly up to the update.  Since the update, PSCC 2014 has been very, very slow to load and slow in use.  I have uninstalled PS used the PS Cleaner and reinstalled through CC Desktop.  The speed problem remains.  Interestingly, 3D is the Menu feature that seems to take the longest to load.  In other words, the program eventually loads, but 3D appears 6 or 7 seconds later.  I don't know if this is significant.  The setup was working fine up to the update.
Grateful for any ideas about what may be the problem and what I can do about it.
My system is a 3770K, with 32Gb ram, x4 SSDs one dedicated to OS and programs and the others to data, and an Asus GTX660 (2Gb) graphics card.  I am using the latest driver from the Nvidia site.  OS is Windows 7 64bit.
I am getting no error messages - just great sluggishness.
    Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in responding.  I had to get some sleep.
Changing "sniffer" made no difference I'm afraid.  I have put it back to "sniffer.exe" having tried reopening with "~sniffer" twice with no success.
Resources.  The maximum cpu resource used during the period from clicking the desktop icon to the menus in the program becoming usable is 23%.
At the end of the splash screen when "initializing panels" is briefly on the splash screen, the line for the resource meter for the cpu went red and said "not responding" - the red disappeared once the workspace was active:

I want to buy MBA 11'' which model is good.  i.e.  i need speed.  I am using Lenovo netbook s-10. Is very slow in opening web pages an also in operating other apps.

Put your first emphasis on memory. Don't even consider 2 GB.
Second, maximize your SSD size according to the ability of your wallet. Lastly is your processor.
For what you describe the MBA is plenty fast.
