Firefox 9 stalls when loading static pages, how do I fix it?

Windows 7 Firefox 9 beta worked fine up to about three days ago, now stalls loading static pages. Seems like Foxnews sites in particular. Have cleared caches and cookies. disabled realplayer with limited improvement

Try the Firefox SafeMode.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

The crash reports indicates the crashes may be caused by a file named mcbrwctl.dll, that file is part of McAfee Site Advisor. Try disabling the McAfee Site Advisor to see if that stops the crashes.
To do that, in the Tools menu select Add-ons to open the add-ons manager. Select the Extensions panel, then in the list of extensions select McAfee Site Advisor then click on the Disable button. Re-start Firefox to complete the process.

Firefox crashes when loading local pages (localhost)

Firefox crashes when I load local pages. This includes pages served by my apache server / localhost (WAMP). It also hangs when I load pages from complete websites that I have downloaded.
I was running Firefox 6 and upgraded to Firefox 7 before I discovered what the cause of the problem was. Downgraded to Firefox 4 and still had the same problem. Does anybody know how to fix this, developing with Chrome is driving me mad!!!???

I have tried to perform a standard diagnostic. Everything seems to run fine in Safe mode. Disabling Hardware accleration makes no difference. I can't check anything else because whenever I try to open Add-on manager, Firefox crashes.
I reinstalled again, just in case, but it's still happening.
Is it significant that the 'Update' buttons of the two outdated plugins won't work when I click on them?

Recently I downloaded some up grades for my computer and now FireFox crashes when I try to change pages on web sites. It crashes in financial sites, my earthlink email account and a business web site I manage.

Thank you for the replies. Everyone was correct about the jack, interface, and phasing problems. I have been unplugging my motu audio interface and then using headphones at work. I have not changed any detailed audio output settings in logic. When I read that the jack might be a problem I tried switching headphones. This actually helped. I am using dre-beats headphones and they seem to be having issues with the mac/jack-(the phasing/panning problems. I can use these headphones with other devices but not the mac. I have to use ipod ear buds and the phasing seems fixed. Hopefully this information is helpful to someone else.
If anyone knows how to correct this issue please let me know its difficult to know what my final mixes are going to sound like and I have had to keep bouncing everything into i-tunes- sync to ipod and then listen in my car radio.

Firefox hangs when javascript is enabled; how can I fix this?

I've recently had issues with Firefox hanging when visiting many webpages. With javascripts disabled it does not crash.
Things I have tried:
Refreshing Firefox
Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox
Using safe mode (did not help, still hangs)
Updating plugins (all were up-to-date)
Interestingly, the same thing happens with the same pages using Safari, but I'm not sure what this means.

I understand that Firefxo is hanging even though you have updated. There was another security release for Flash today as they are addressing some major security issues this week.
I would recommend changing your Flash plugin to a click to play status. Go into about:plugins and click "Always Ask to Activate" for your flash player.

Ok, one sentence, that's tough - I have gone through the 'firefox crashes when you open it' troubleshooting but my problem remains that firefox crashes when i open it, how do i fix this?

Several days ago firefox crashed when opening and it does so every time i try to open it now. I am able to use internet explorer perfectly. In fact one way i discovered i can still open firefox is by using Advanced System Care (which i installed after the crashing so it was not in any way responsible) and going to 'test bandswidth'. Because firefox is my default browser it opened it up. I was able to enter safe mode in this way and restart firefox in safe mode. I then set firefox so that all plugins and extensions were disabled but this did not help. I am running the default theme. I will be happy to provide any further information if anyone can help..thanks in advance.

Note that the Aurora (28.0a2) and Nightly (29.0a1) build are updated daily and can be unstable being alpha releases. 
You always need to install such a version alongside of the current release via a custom install and use a separate profile for each Firefox version.
Make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished and use the Profile Manager to create a new (separate) profile for each version.

Firefox crashes when loading any page with flash. I have tried all available fixes including plugin updates. If I disable flash the crashes stop, but no flash.

Firefox crashes on any page with flash. I have the most recent version of Firefox on OSX Snow Leopard. I have made sure that I have all the most recent plugins and extensions and I am not running any custom theme. I have completely un-installed and re-installed Firefox and flash to no avail. I think the problem is in some user preference, but I cannot seem to find it. If I log out and use a different user on my machine, Firefox does not have the flash crash problem.

JYOuyang: I have the correct plugin for Flash. My problem is not the "Flash crashed" icon, which would be generally acceptable, but FIREFOX crashing, usually rather dramatically. I have since regressed to Firefor 3.6.3. I am still using Flash 10.1, the newest version. This no longer causes Firefox to crash. Now then -- if the same plugin causes no crashes in the new version of Firefox and does cause crashes in the prior version, it is not exactly a humongous leap to conclude that maybe, just maybe, there was a bug introduced in Firefox 3.6.4? I mean, it's not as if a major feature of 3.6.4 was a significant change in how plugins interact with the browser or anything... oh, wait, there was, wasn't there? Hmmm. Saying "It's Adobe's fault!" rings a little hollow when the 10.1 plugin works correctly in the prior version of Firefox. Any kind of host/plugin model relies on a contract between the host and the plugin, and when there's a crash, it indicates one side or the other broke that contract. The optimised imagery content loads OK but the actual Thumbnails feature stalls when loading the page.

Hi folks I have a problem here with Muse. I have a Macbook Pro running on X.10.9.4
When I try to load my Thumbnails widget in a browser the feature stalls.
The full size imagery is optimized OK and will load fast directly on the page without any problem without the Thumbnail widget enabled. If I go to Preview with the widget enabled as a slideshow the whole thing slowly grinds to a halt, usually before all of the thumbnails load. When and if they do eventually load the preview window does not. I must be doing something wrong? That page will obviously not upload. @

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). 
You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. 
You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, just like you open a website.

Firefox crashes when loading certain pages and I can't get the new adobe flash to install so I can't listen to everything. I have a Linux system.

Do I need to install an other more update version? I just can't get adobe to install. Also I can't get ANY copier, printer, etc. to work on this system. I don't want to remove Linux or Firefox because they catch all the "junk". Can you help? I'm not the best at this and I will do my best.

I had that problem myself and was forced to download the installer for "other browsers" using Internet Explorer at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ . After I did that it installed correctly. You can also try downloading the FULL installers for flash at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html . Just make sure that all browser windows are closed before you run either of these.

hello Atomiclemon, the crash report that you've provided shows that the flash plugin is crashing - can you try downgrading to flash 10.3 as it is described in [[Flash 11.3 crashes]] and see if this resolves the issue?

Are you talking about app updates? Try closing the App Store from the multitasking tray:
1) Open App Store
2) Click Home button to close App Store
3) Double click Home button to bring up multitasking tray
4) Press and hold App Store icon in tray; minus sign will appear; press the minus sign
5) Wait 30 seconds and then open the App Store again
