Firefox / Acrobat Question

I have downloaded the latest version of the Adobe Reader , but for some reason in Firefox when I click on something that is linked to a Adobe file, I get a screen that asked if it wants me to open it in preview. It does not give me adobe as a choice.
Any way in Firefox to associate the pdf file with the reader for clicked links?

I don't think Rosetta settings are the issue.

Do you have PDF files set to open in Acrobat Reader by default? If you're not sure, find a PDF file on your hard drive, click on the file once to highlight it, and Command-I to get info on the file.
In the Info window, in the "Open with" section, is Acrobat Reader already selected in the dropdown menu? If Preview is selected, then this is the problem. Choose Acrobat Reader in the menu and click "Change all" to make this change affect all PDF files from now on. Click "Continue" in the dialog that pops up to confirm the change.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.
    *Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/

  • Muse/Acrobat question about interactive PDFs linked to in Muse...

So I made a link to email, gave it a blue rollover state, exported this in an interactive PDF which I then have a link to in Muse. When you click on it, it opens in a new window/tab, w/ this weird gray color behind it. Any ideas how I can remove this? See link below for a visual:

    Thanks!

When a PDF is opened in a browser, it can either use Acrobat/Reader, or something else such as the default PDF viewers in Chrome and Firefox. If it is being opened in one of these non-Adobe PDF viewers, be prepared for behavior that's different than it is in Acrobat/Reader, especially with interactive elements. The one in Chrome is better than the one in Firefox.

firefox non mi apre i documenti pdf da compilare.
mi dice sempre che devo aggiornare alla versione più recente di acrobat reader, ma la mia è già la versione più recente
il modulo da compilare in prova è sul sito del MUDE

    Hey maod68930687,
Could you please specify more on the same.
Are you first downloading the PDF that you need to fill on your computer?
Is the form fillable because only then the form fields would be enabled for editing.

  • Firefox 19 Questions

I have the Norton 360 antivirus and it has the Norton toolbar on my browser and they put a new update out for 19 a couple days ago. I been having issues having the Toolbar show up for me on 17 and I'm gonna upgrade soon to fix that. (I even asked on the Norton Community forums and they confirmed it was a issue with 18 and with my thread I had confirmed it for 17) I just have a question about 19 before I do.
My Flash player is still at 10.3 because I read about it crashing a lot with the later versions. Does this version fix that issue or is it still there? I know you can downgrade and all that if you upgrade but I was wondering if it fixed itself before I do decide to upgrade adobe. I use YouTube a lot throughout the day and wondered if it ever was fixed or not.

Hello demonicvampiregirl, for the flash issue, as Tylerdowner said above, ''The Flash issues are issues that need to be fixed by Adobe. In Flash 11.6 (the most recent version) they have fixed the majority of the issue they introduced in 11.3. ''
''In Flash Player 11.3, a protected mode was added as a new security enhancement for Firefox 4.0 and greater on Windows Vista and higher. '' as you can see : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0
basically the flash issues, from 11.3 and later, is for windows vista and later (win 7 & 8), personally using always the latest flash(in my xp) with no problem at all (not that that's saying something) but the problems is at 99% with windows vista or 7.
i think if you upgrade to latest flash you don't have any problem
    thank you

  • Acrobat question

Last year I was having problems with retrieving my statements online from my bank because the .pdf file wouldn't generate. Somehow I managed to remedy the situation and had no problem launching them in Preview and I removed ALL traces of anything Acrobat when I fixed the problem.
Now I discovered on two sites, one being the bank -- and another biller, I have to use Firefox to generate the pdf file since the "open in Preview" option is grayed out on the context menu when I reload in an attempt to possibly have it reconnect to the file.
This is a hassle for it to all of a sudden reverted and forcing me to use Firefox to view and save these files. What's the point of going paperless if you have to go through as many steps as opening an actual envelope to see a document ONLINE?
Again, I have no traces of Acrobat anywhere on my system: no plug-ins, no library files, NOTHING. I refuse to download Acrobat 8 just to be able to retrieve these files monthly.
Any suggestions as to how I can get them to open in Preview AGAIN, since it did work up until the other day? And I know on most other sites than my bank and this one biller, the pdf launches within Safari with the Preview "controls" where I can zoom/save/open, etc....
(And pdfs are set to launch in Preview already, so it's not the global setting).

Let me clarify --- when I click the link to view/open it launches a new window where the statement is generated as a pdf.
The problem now is that the file is not being generated so I get a blank window. So, I have to use Firefox to access these two sites where I utilize this function.
I was able to generate a pdf at my bank's site from within Safari as recently as the last cycle, so I know it DID work in the past. It's just that when I went to retrieve this month's, it had stopped altogether & the empty window popped up and you cannot print a blank window. Believe me, I have racked my brain wondering what could've happened within a short period to cause this without having to accept it might be the programmers modifying those sites....
Also, this site works fine -- so it is not corruption within Safari on this user account
    http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf
there is just something funny about those two sites refusing to generate pdfs now and it's annoying

  • Adobe Acrobat Question(s)

I am evaluating Adobe Acrobat 9.0, but I have a couple of questions:
    1.  Is it possible to simply resize an inserted picture?  (Like I can do easily with Word?)  Specifically, I'd like to be able to set the height and width in pixels, not have to resize with the mouse.
    2.  Is it possible to add a frame around a picture, like I can with Word?
    3.  Is Adobe Acrobat Extended available in one of the Creative Suites?
    Thanks in advance....

Most of what you want to do can be done, but not easily. To adjust the size of a graphic, the graphic has to be included as an image on a button, not as a main part of the document. As is mentioned by the other post, what you are trying to do is not the purpose of Acrobat. The main purpose is to create a portable document format that can be read by almost all. When you start trying to do other things, you are going beyond the original intent.

  • General Adobe Acrobat questions

Hi, just heard about this seemingly unreal program as a
possible way to help streamline some of our office
    procedures/paperwork. Two main questions.
    1. Is Adobe designer bundled in with the Acrobat 9?
    2. Licensing -- we have a work server, is it something that
one can be put on server and everyone access or would we need to
buy a license for every computer. It would only need to be about 10
    users max.
    Appreciate the feedback in advance.
    Thanks, Joy

    Hello Joy1974,
    Thank you for posting!
Allow me to inform you that these forums are specific to the
Acrobat.com website and its set of hosted services, and do
not relate the Acrobat family of desktop products.
Ultimately, this question would best be asked in the Acrobat
    Forums.

  • Exporting from InDesign into a PDF to be used in Acrobat question.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if there's a way when exporting to PDF to leave fields open/editable(not the word im looking for) so that when the form is opened in Acrobat the form can be typed on/on top of, dont want to change/edit the actual document.
What i have is an InDesign doc, that just a form for college classes (things like Course #, Course Title, Credit hours, Final Grade, College, ect) So there are blank spaces in the Table we made that need to be filled in at a later date, those In past times the completed form would have just been printed out and the person filling it out would just write that in. What i'm wanting to know is if there is way that i can set up the document for export to the PDF, that the program recognizes that those spaces need to be left so that we can type in it in another program, like Acrobat. Its for college office work so our office ladies dont have indesign and use acrobat regularly.
I hope that makes sense i can try to explain again if need be. A pic of the table is attached.
    Thanks

Yeah that's the best bet, though if you don't want to make a bunch of fields, you can also just save it with the Typewriter tool enabled in Acrobat (Tools > Typewriter > Enable Typewriter Tool in Adobe Reader).  Then, the person viewing it will get a little typewriter tool that they can use.  I think they have to have version 9 of Adobe Reader.
But it looks the best to add in all the fields individually.
    Hope that helps,
    Phyllis

  • New Firefox 4 - Question is anyone also have an issue with it unlocking the lock in my network preferences on Imac?

This happens every time I start my computer - I check my Airport Status and find that the pad lock is un locked - this is new since I installed the new Firefox 4. Was previously on Firefox.
Has anyone else reported this problem?

I've seen this, as well, on an iPhone 4s.  Eventually the high-data-usage went away, seemingly on it's own (and after calling AT&T a couple of times to get the overage removed from my bill).
Having said that, one thing to check is to turn "Documents & Data" off...  Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data.  I'm thinking this can push and pull a lot of data to/from iCloud very quickly.  Photos under iCloud might do the same...
    Hope this helps...
    Bob

Hello. I am currently using Adobe Reader XI, and I am not able to combine files into a separate combined file. I am also having trouble extracting pages as separate files. Als, I am having trouble printing to pdf. I had to install CutePDF writer.

This means that you probably had Acrobat installed.  Or a subscription to the Adobe PDF Pack service.

  • Firefox-Lion Question

    I'm running Snow-Leopard 10.6.8, When it's released I plan on running Lion..
I'd like to know if Firefox can be used with Lion ? ? ?
    TIA-George

Anyone who has a definitive answer will not be able to share that knowledge because they would be violating an NDA (non disclosure agreement); having said that, I don't know why it wouldn't. There may be an update necessary, but other than that, a browser usually works longer than for one OS version.

  • Firefox Updates Question

I received a msg. today from firefox that said:
we strongly urge you to update firefox. So I clicked on the update button. It took me to a screen that said:
    connecting to update server
I came back 1.5 hrs. later and it was still working on trying to connect to the server?
Can anyone help me with this problem?
    Thanks

    '''Do we need a designers petition?'''<br />
Firefox 4 is rendering at least Arial fonts wrongly.<br />
'''Please''', solve this problem! We can't change all the CSS from all our websites. Google Chome is gaining market share, and it renders quite awesomly, so please, give us users support! You know how hard is to make a website viewable the same way in all the most common browsers...
I don't know if this helps, but I tried some CSS and the problem seems to be this:
If you set: "font-family:Arial;" with "font-size" set to:
    * "normal" or "100;" to "500;" you get Arial
    * "bold;", "bolder;", "600;" or"700;" you get bold Arial
    * "800;" to "900;" you get Arial Black
    * "bolder;" in a nested element which was in bold Arial you get Arial Black
I'm attaching how I see it with webkit (left) and mozilla(right) (if someone wants, I can copy the code... it's simple but long).
Chrome, Safari and Opera render correctly (as we were used to). Chrome and Opera though have strange 600 and 700 weights...
'''Interestingly''', '''''Internet Explorer''''' is showing me the '''same problem''' that Firefox (are you planning to be bought by Microsoft? Skype was bought and started giving problems... I'm just saying)...
