Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*'''Windows:'''
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

What is the error? Are you following the Bootcamp instructions? Where on the "internet" are you trying to install from? Did you try downloading from here http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/downloads/?

  • Integrate Java standalone application when WIndows start

Hello everybody.I would like to ask you if it is possible to load a Java standalone application when any Windows platform (NT/2000/98/XP) starts.
How can I integrate an application when WIndows start?Do I have to include the bat file(which callls the java applictaion) into a Windows system file?
    Regards.

You can do one of several things:
    1. Write a native executable that runs the Java Archive (JAR) using the java shell command.
    2. Write a Windows shortcut that runs the java shell command (again passing in the JAR).
    3. Purchase software that will produce a native executable that will run the JAR for you.
    4. Integrate JAR files as executable programs into your Kernel. In Windows this is not easy, but again, there are solutions on the Internet, but you will most likely have to purchase these.
    5. Configure the JAR file type so that when any JAR file type is double-clicked (and the default action is performed), the Java runtime is executed with the JAR as a parameter.
5 is my usual solution, and for operating systems like Linux, and especially MacOS, it is much easier to get JARs to run 'more natively'.
The answer to your question is simply 'Yes' but it is your choice of how to do this.
As far as running the JAR when your desktop starts up (Explorer in this case), you can do two things - firstly there's a 'Run' item in your registery where you can place the location of your shortcut / executable, secondly, you can simply put the short-cut or the executable (I recommend a shortcut) in your 'Startup' folder of your Start Menu. (Start -> Programs -> Startup).
    I hope this helps.

  • Some app not automatic startup when windows start.?

I use dell touchpad but it don't automatic start when windows start. I allway manual open app.

In this build, when you are set to use the Start Screen instead of the Start Menu, apps in the "Run" area of the registry that normally automatically start will not start. If you switch back to the Start Menu, they will start. I have not seen
any documentation about this change so I am hoping it is just a bug at this point.

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
The switch /control indicates that you can take the control of the session which you have taken. Generally when we take remote desktop session we will already get the control of that session but in some case where some administrator will not give full access
or control of remote session to the user. At that if they know this option they can use to control that remote session.
Use command line parameters with Remote Desktop Connection

    Hope it helps!

  • OSDOfflineBitlocker.exe command line arguments ?

    Hi there,
I'm searching a referencial with the command line argument of the SCCM tools OSDOfflineBitlocker.exe (Pre-provision Bitlocker task in SCCM 2012).
My purpose is to set the TPM Owner password manually, I don't know if it's possible but I know that the task OSDBitlocker.exe (Enable Bitlocker) can receive arguments like "/enable /wait:False /mode:TPM /pwd:None".
    Thanks

    Pls refer

    Thanks, Prabha G
Thanks for the link but I use Bitlocker with MBAM and this method don't save the TPM Owner password in the database and it's not possible to fix it.

  • Can I open multiple tabs in Firefox when WINDOWS starts up? Command line limits to about 204 characters...

I know how to configure Firefox so that it opens multiple tabs every time you open ''Firefox''. I want it to open multiple tabs when I start ''Windows''. Or in other words, I don't want to connect to multiple web pages every time I open a browser, just the first time I log on for the day.
I tried appending the web sites in the command line of a Firefox shortcut in my Windows Startup folder. The problem is that in this approach, you're limited to as many URL's as you can type in about 204 characters ('C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe' uses up 52 of the 256 characters available in a shortcut).
Is there a way to open more tabbed web sites than that?
What would be cool is if there was something like a FFstartup.ini file or something, where you could provide a list of websites as long as you want, and it would open them all. So, the command line would look like:
    'C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe' 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\FFstartup.ini'
...and the FFstartup.ini file would look like:
    [Startup]
    etc...
If there's no current way to do this, how would I make this suggestion to be developed?
    Thank you!

Use a .bat or .cmd file to start Firefox if you need more space than the target line in a shortcut allows.<br />
    Separate the URLs with spaces.
    start "" "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" http://www.yahoo.com http://www.google.com http://www.firefox.com

  • A clicked link embedded in email (Outlook Express) takes forever to open in Firefox - the file type instruction is as follows: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -requestPending -osint -url "%1". Why is this corrupted?

I believe the above problem started after a recent Windows update to my PC. I found a solution. First I open My Computer, Folder Options and then File types. File types affected: (None) Hypertext Transfer Protocol and (None) Hypertext Transfer Protocol with Privacy. When I change the Advanced Application to be Used by eliminating "requestPending -osint -yrl" from the entry, email links open almost instantly again. The problem is that the change I make is not permanent. Something keeps switching it back to the corrupted form and links don't work properly from my email.

I suspect you may need to modify your Windows registry settings to make the changes permanent. That said, I believe the command line options you wish to remove act as safeguards, I would caution against removing them.
    '''-requestPending'''<br>
Tells the application that there will be a Windows DDE request to open the same url specified on the command line.
(Windows DDE is a method for transferring data between applications.)
    '''-osint'''<br>
Tells the application that it is being launched by the OS shell.
    '''-url URL'''<br>
Open URL in a new tab or window, depend on the browser option.
For more info, see [https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Command_Line_Options here].
You could try removing the -requestPending option (leaving the other options) and uncheck/clear the "Use DDE" checkbox. This may speed things up.
With regards to editing the Windows registry, please see [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310516 here]. '''Remember to back up your registry first!'''
I believe you will need to modify the following registry keys:
    Software\Classes\http\shell\open\command<br>
    Software\Classes\https\shell\open\command<br>
    Software\Classes\ftp\shell\open\command<br>

  • Firefox opens up automatically when windows starts up

Within the past 1-2 weeks when rebooting, or starting up windows 8 firefox opens up automatically, I went to startup and firefox isn't listed, need help on making firefox NOT startup automatically when windows 8 opens up, thank you.....

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]

    * [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

  • Why does Firefox force 8bit color quality when it starts and distort some elements of my screen?

Have no problem with other programs when I set color quality to 32bit. But when I start Firefox the screen looks like a low res screen. If I go look at the color quality in settings it will be at 8bit and changing it appears to fix things. Until I close Firefox and restart it then I am back to 8bit and poor looking graphics and even the windows start button will be messed up as well as the windows icon on the start button

Right-click on the shortcut that you use to start Firefox and select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab and de-select all of the settings.
If none of the settings are selected, repeat the above process, but this time using Windows Explorer right-click on the firefox.exe file, default location is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

  • Firefox keeps crashing. Even when i start it in safe mode

I have a Windows 7 64bit computer working with firefox for a long time. Yesterday they think they opened some SPAM message, firefox crashed and isn't working any more. I have performed all actions mentioned below without any succes:
    - Firefox does the same starting in safe mode. Removed the profiles and created a new one without importing any settings. same problem
    - Removed Firefox, removed all folders, removed all Firefox links in registry. Reinstalled firefox, same problem
    - Removed java and flash, firefox still crashes
    - created a new user account in Windows, logged on, still the same problem.
    - Scanned the computer with Norman Security Suite, McAffee Stinger, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, TrendMicro Housecall. Except for cookies, nothing was found.
    - Windows System restore wasn't configured so unfortunately no restore points available.
User was really happy with Firefox and really doesn't want to use another browser, but now she has to.
Reinstalling the OS isn't really an option, to much settings, software and connections to other devices in the network.
    Can Anyone please help????

We're sorry to hear that Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID into the reply window on the forums.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Since the last Firefox update, flash player crashes when I start my cam

When I start my webcam in a chat room, Adobe Flash Player crashes. If I do not start my cam, everything is fine. I have the latest versions of Firefox and Flash Player. I have windows 98
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I installed the most recent update

I have the same problem as well, however, I have noticed that the issues seem to be local to specific sites.
In my case, its tinychat.com, and tokbox.com. I have no problems getting into Tinychat, but when I try to cam up or even access the settings in regards to the camera dialog, adobe crashes.
So far, I can chat and cam anywhere else I please with no issues that Ive found.
Another thing i noticed, is it worked fine the first time i logged into Tinychat, but on the next subsequent visit, it was broken and remained so after.

  • I have installed firefox 8.0.1. When I start firefox up it says I have the latest version, but simultaneously there is a warning saying that I do not use the latest version?.

When I click the firefox icon it tells me that I have firefox 8.0.1.Under is written Firefox-is-up-to-date (shadow line) It also mentions that I use the release-update channel.
When i start firefox there is a warning that I do not use the latest version

This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I don't think it is being maintained by Google.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same.

  • Laptop stops stream to VGA monitor when windows starts.

Pretty much exactly what the title says. I broke the screen on my laptop so i have it set up as a desktop with a cheap vga monitor. I can start the computer and see the "Verifying DMI pool data" screen and such and even the windows vista scrolling load bar, but when windows goes to the desktop i lose all signal from the laptop. What could be causing this?!  BTW: the thing works fine in safe mode.  I have the most updated nvidia driver.

your graphics card may be attempting to use the broken laptop monitor once it can boot up, when you enter safe mode it prevents the graphics card program from booting thus it doesn't switch off of the VGA monitor, you need to start the graphics program in safe mode and set the VGA monitor as a second display and make it a clone of the actual display, i'm not sure if the settings will last once you restart the computer, nor do i know how to get the VGA monitor to be your primary display, but that's what i do know
