Firefox and adobe interactive forms

Hi,
I am trying to get a web dynpro application to work on Firefox 1.5.
When I ran the application the first time in IE I got a popup asking to install a java object. I refused and got an error message in the browser saying it could not render the form. After installing the java plugin, everything was OK as rendering is concerned. But in FIrefox I still have the same  rendering problem...
Have you any ideas of why this is occuring ?
Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas
in NW 04 any online scenario using an Interactive Form in Web Dynpro for Java can only be run in Internet Explorer after installing SAP's Active Component Framework (see SAP Note 766191) on the respective frontend.
This limitation will be lifted with NW 2004s SPS 7. Until then, if you want to combine Web Dynpro and Interactive Forms in online scenarios you'll have to work with Microsoft.

  • Comparision matrix of Webdynpro Java and Adobe Interactive form

    Hi Experts,
In our project we have to choose the GUI between Webdynpro Java and Adobe Interactive forms. Can anyone help me out with strong comparision parameter's in order to select the right technology.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi ,
Depends on your project requirement : if you project is simple and want to use  less UI controls  then use Adobe Interactive Forms (AIF).
But In your project needs large number of UI controls and to show huge amount of data then best option is  Web Dynpro Java.
Web Dynpro provides wide varieties of UI controls for designing your web application . Adobe Interactive Forms have limited controls .
Web Dynpro take care of your Client side eventing which is not possible in AIF . AIF Developers needs to know Adobe scripting too.
If your Client data is huge AIF take so much of time to render your content and also this depends on your reader version installed on the end user too . Web Dynpro Java is Client neutral & it won't take much time to render the content.
Use AIF  to show/process Business data in any Web application. ideally it is not suited for complete GUI of your project  .

  • Loadrunner 11 and Adobe interactive forms

I'm currently on-site for SAP Italy and the client wants to use Loadrunner 11 to test a business process that requires Adobe interactive forms.
eCATT is not acceptable to the client
Can you advise me if the question about this being possible using Loadrunner 11 has been answered ? Has anyone actually done this using LR and if so would you share details ?
I note that in the HP Forum that this topic is currently live.
    jc

    Hello Brenda,
yes, we've tested eCATT with interactive forms. It works so far, but the question is what is the goal of your test?
Using eCATT ADS, the application, and the business logic behind is tested. If that is your goal, using eCATT is an appropriate solution.
Regarding Loadrunner-Tests I'm not the expert. But within the solution an ActiveX does posts to the server using encoded URLs. So there are several problems:
    - is loadrunner able to record those posts?
    - is loadrunner able to modify URL parameters dependend on the current session?
    - is loadrunner able to use the response of such a post and dynamically adapt a post parameter of the subsequent post?
So I think it is at least very difficult and complex to use loadrunner. I recommend eCATT as the solution for automated tests of InteractiveForms.

  • Webdynpro and adobe interactive form

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where i have to develop an interactive adobe form using webdynpro.
In the layout of a view , i created an element of type "Interactive form" and do the necessary setting.
In the properties of  "Interactive form" i have "ENABLED" field, once i uncheck it and execute the application, i get the PDF but non editable mode.
Once i check this field "ENABLED" , i am not getting PDF,I only get a CROSS button on executing the application.
Can any one please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks
    Mahesh

    Hi,
By default always Use 'ZCI' Layout as form layout and Choose Display type as 'native' in Interactive Form UI properties when you design and develop interactive forms using webdynpro abap.
If form layout is 'xACF', then choose Display type as 'activeX' in interactive form UI properties.
If the form is designed using xACF layout then you can run the report "FP_ZCI_UPDATE" by entering form name and choosing update radio button. This will add some script to your form that is required for using native controls.

  • Business Graphics and Adobe Interactive Form

    Hi Friends,
I generated charts in webdynpro using business graphics.
Now, I need put this charts into a Adobe Form using Interactive Form Component. Is that possible? How can I do this?
    Thanks,
    Cristian

    Hi Cristian Teles,
YOu can use the Business graphics even in Adobe forms. In the Adobe Designer you can find the various graphical UI elements. Please go through them.
    Structure of the Chart Designer
The Chart Designer is divided into three areas:
    ·        The graphics preview
The area on the left-hand side in which the business graphic is displayed. This area is used to display a preview of the Customizing settings. Changes to these settings are displayed immediately in the graphics preview, which lets you implement necessary changes in the business graphic display instantly.
    ·        Overview of graphical elements
The area in the upper-right side that contains the list of graphical elements. For a detailed description and list of all graphical elements, see SAP NetWeaver ® Application Platform (SAP Web Application Server) ® ABAP Technology ® UI Technology ® Frontend Services.
Each graphical element, in turn, has one or more properties. To change a property, select a chart element either from the chart window or by name in the chart element window. The properties of the chart element are then displayed, and you can edit and change the values of the properties.
    ·        The property list
The properties are listed in the area below the graphical elements. To change a property, select a graphical element either with the mouse in the graphics preview or from the overview of graphical elements. The properties of the graphical element are then displayed. You can change the values of these properties.

  • Web Dynpro Java and Adobe Interactive forms Which Tool Should I Use?

    Hello Experts,
Can anyone help me with deciding the right technology to use among WDJ and Interactive form by adobe. I want to prepare a presentation to showcase the strong and weak points in order to decide the final technology.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I personally prefer Web Dynpro Java without Interactive forms in most cases.
Interactive forms are developed on top of Web Dynpro, so you are including an extra tier with the complexity it adds.
PDF files tend to go big and performance tends to go down. In average, my forms weight between 1 - 5 Mb so network traffic is a bottleneck.
The scripting environment is very poor.
On the other hand PDFs interfaces are nicer than WDJ, but I think navigation is worst in part because of the performance issues. Considering this, reporting could be a good use of Interactive Forms.
The best scenario for using Interactive Forms is for off-line applications, which can't be done with WDJ. For example, if you want your customer to fill an order list, you can send automatically an offline pdf file wich he can fill and submit to your company, initiating a bpm.
    Best regards, Aldo.

  • Business Objects and Adobe Interactive forms

    Good day,
Is it possible to use a Business Objects report output and post it into Adobe forms? We would like to use a report output and allow users to comment per report line  - online - or is there any other application in Business Objects which will make this possible
    For Example:
    Report Line                                       Comment
    Sales   9999.9999                             ______________________________________
    Expenses 99999.99                          ______________________________________
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I would suggest you post your question into the corresponding BusinessObjects client tool forum.

  • Latest NW Sneakpreview SP16 and Adobe Interactive Forms

    Hi there,
    The installation of finished correctly.
    But i got some problems:
    1. The location to store the credential file("usr/SAP/J2E/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices/TrustManagerService/trust/credentials")is not created on the harddisk. I created it myself.
    2. When i want to test if the ADS is correctly running (http://localhost:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config) i got an error. I found out that the service IIOP needs to run. After starting it manually and starting all the other "Document Services" manually it worked.
What the biggest problem right now is, that if i configure the service "Document Services Configuration" and i push the browse button to locate the credential file i get the following error:
<i>com.adobe.service.sap.ConfigurationException:An error occured while indexing the credential files</i>
<i>com.adobe.service.sap.ConfigurationException:An error occured while locating the document trust manager</i>
<i>com.adobe.service.sap.ConfigurationException:An error occured unable to locate the document services trust manager</i>
I hope somebody can help me to solve this problem.
    Thx in advance.

  • Web dynpro with adobe interactive forms and button submit

    Hi,
I'am new with webdynpro and adobe interactive forms so i just trying some example with an adobe interactive form with a submit button event handler inside the webdynpro. But i can't catch the event handler submit that i creaate on onSubmit property of the interactive form.
    Can anyone help please.
    Thank you very much.

I think I understand but just to make it clear. I use texts created using function module "SAVE_TEXT". In my Web Dynpro I  select one or more of them and use the button "insert text" (with appropriate functionality behind it) to insert them to specified location in my PDF form opened in this Web Dynpro. Considering what you said it is not possible to replace this "insert text" button by drag and drop functionality. Am I correct?
Btw great job with the book "Next Generation ABAP Development" Thomas!

  • Adobe Interactive Forms and 4.6c

    Hi to all,
I have to develop and adobe interactive form within a web dynpro project with SAP WAS 6.40. This interactive form have to call an R/3 system 4.6c (via RFC) to retrieve some datas. My question is: can I use interactive forms with a 4.6c (using JCO/RFC) or I have some restrictions?
    Thank you very much,
    Antonio

    Antonio,
I cut and pasted the below response from the SDN FAQ on SAP Interactive Forms:
Can Interactive Forms work within, for example, an SAP R/3 Enterprise or 4.6C system? Or is it possible to run a stand-alone SAP Web AS 6.40 instance with a lower-release SAP system?
Interactive Forms is shipped as a part of SAP Web AS 6.40. SAP Web AS 6.40 can be connected to lower-release backend systems to exchange data (using RFC).
If you want to use forms in interactive scenarios, you can use technologies such as an RFC connection to exchange data between your application system (for example, SAP R/3 4.6C) and the SAP Web AS 6.40, which includes the required Adobe technology. Note that this does not apply to the use of Interactive Forms in the Internet Service Request framework, which is extensively used in SAP Manager Self Service (e.g. Personnel Change Request).

  • Developing Adobe Interactive forms in SAP R/3 4.7

I have a client requirement of developing Adobe Interactive forms for automating exisiting manual processes. The SAP version being used is SAP 4.72.
Could anyone please let me know what all is required to implement it and how that can be done in brief.
One of the related links to the topic without much details is 4.7 and Adobe Interactive Forms.
If anyone has worked with such requirement, his inputs would be valuable

    Hi,
You will have to use WD Java for integrating Interactive forms with SAP version 4.7
NetWeaver developer Studio ( NWDS) is the tool used for this integration. Data can be passed from SAP to WD Java using RFCs.
This link will be useful for you:

  • Do you have to buy License to use Adobe Interactive Forms in WebAS

    Hello,
Im testing at the moment the NetWeaver Java Trial with Web Dynpro (Java) and Adobe Interactive Forms.
You have to download Credentials and install it to use interactive forms in the Trial version. These are valid for 2 month.
I would like to know if you have to buy and install the Licenses to use (in the full amount, with digital Signatures etc.) the Adobe interactive Forms in the Fullversion of NetWeaver ?!
A Link to a document of SAP or Adobe to this topic would be really helpful.

    Hello,
You will find the Adobe Forms Licensing information at links below:
    1) Licensing Adobe Document Services
