Firefox Android on Nexus 7 (2012) does not clear history/private data on quit even though I have it set to do so.
I checked for updates for the Android version of Firefox and I have the latest version. I changed the settings to clear privacy data on Quit but it does not work, history still shows when I reopen Firefox. Any suggestions?
Found the problem. Previous Android version of Firefox did not have a "Quit" option to close the browser. I had an add-on called 'Quit Now" installed. Latest Android version now seems to have its own Quit option which now shows up. I uninstalled the "Quit Now" add-on and when I close Firefox with its Quit button the history is cleared. Others having the same problem should check their add-ons under Tools to see if they have the "Quit Now" add-on. I only caught the solutions after seeing 2 different Quit options.

When I open firefox it is returning to the last viewed page instead of my homepage even though I have the settings set to clear history every time I close Firefox. I check and all of the previous history is still there and not deleted..
Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that that there are no longer Firefox or plugin-container processes left on the Processes tab in the Task Manager. Otherwise session restore will reopen the page(s) from the previous session.

Copy opening does not clear the destination data. It just appends so if i run the copy opening package twice i can see the signed data get doubled.

memory system, you could be having an issue there.

I have gone through all the tutorials to get iCloud to back up my music for iTunes, but it still shows I have 5.0GB available (even though I have purchased more), and when I go to "backup" it acts like it's going to do it, but doesn't. I now need to update my iOS but can't because there's not enough storage on my iPad, a bit of a Catch 22. Can anyone help me figure out why my music isn't going to the cloud? Thanks!
iCloud doesn't back up your music as part of your iCloud backup. iCloud only includes music in two ways. First, it allows you to redownload previously purchased music for free from iTunes (called "iTunes in the cloud"). Second, if you subscribe to iTunes Match on your computer, you iTunes library (up to 25,000 songs) will be available to download and play on your device anywhere you have a connection to the internet ( see http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/).

Despite settings, firefox does not clear history.
Had this problem with vista and now with windows 7 (full instal - not upgrade) - Security settings for firefox are to wipe everything when closed - firefox32.exe hangs when program closed and history (etc) is not cleared. System is 64 bit. Possible causes (symptoms I've noticed) are - MTV stream open when computer rests - divx or megavideo stream open when computer rests - none of these things work everytime so it's hard to tell what causes it - has been a problem with two versions of windows.
The sessionstore.js file that stores session data includes cookies from open tabs, so if tabs are restored and you haven't logged out then you may still be logged on unless the session has expired via other ways.
You can set the <b>browser.sessionstore.privacy_level</b> pref to 2 (never) or 1 (non-HTTPS) on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable saving cookies via session restore in the sessionstore.js file.
The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen the previous session automatically via "Show my windows and tabs from last time" and uses the same values.

If I Reset Safari or Empty Cache or Clear History when I go to the address bar and type any letter--I get a long list of all the websites visited. While this is not a big deal for my home computer I do not like this to occur on my work computer. Is there a way to erase all the sites visted from the address bar?

I have this same "problem," resetting, clearing the history, etc., and still getting a huge list of autofill possibilities. Of course, anyone else who uses my computer gets my huge list of autofill possibilites, too, so if I had something quietly buried in a bookmark folder, it shows up as anyone begins to type. I can't believe that typing in "www" is really bringing up every single bookmark I have! If Apple is listening they should certainly have a Preference setting to keep this from occurring in the next Safari update. It is junky and annoying to me and evidently to some others, too, since I see several messages referring to the same issue. It looks just like a huge "history," which is what I thought it was.

Does not start up with last viewed Tabs even though chosen in options?
V 4.01 with Vista. Even after choosing the correct option in options>options>General FF does not start up with the last session of Tabs and Windows. It always opens with a single blank Tab. What am I doing wrong?
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Browsing History" if Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.
If you use CCleaner then make sure that Session is unchecked in the settings for the Firefox application. -
I have tried everything Mozilla has suggested. Still when I click on a pdf, I get the message that the browser cannot open a pdf. I have gone through the help protocol, and it does not work.
I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, and still not able to open pdf files within the browser.
What else do I do, except go to IE or Chrome and just leave Firefox completely???A possible cause is the presence of a PDF plugin from an older Adobe Reader plugin in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.

I successfully imported messages from Opera Mail. Initially the Sent mailbox was not showing in Thunderbird. A quick removal and fresh installation solved that, but Thunderbird does not save the sent messages to the Sent box, where the imported Opera Mail messages are stored. Even though messages are not saved, they are sent correctly. The image attached shows the error message.
Probably a name-confuse If you store sent on mailserver it has to have the right name. (subscribe)
You could set up under Account settings / copies and folders (maps) Sent pointing to the right local folder. -
My email does not come in until I click on get mail. I have the check mail set automatically in my preferences under general. What am I doing wrong? Cheers John

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.

I have Firefox set to automatically look for updates then ask if I want to install them. I do this when convenient (may also need to restrict downloads on another machine when paying for Internet use by amount downloaded) Until recently it did just this. Firtefox 6 seems to have downloaded & installed (& lost all passwords & cookies) I assumed this happened when someone else was using the machine & said yes. Today I went to the Verizon store to upgrade my girlfriends phone which is on my account b/c I wanted to use the edge plan to buy the iPhone 5c. I had read in several different places that I could upgrade using edge and not loose my unlimited data, turns out I was misinformed, which the guy at the store told me after he had my information pulled up using my cell number. I told the guy I was not willing to give up my unlimited plan AND pay full price for the phone, I thanked him for his time and we left. When we left the store I called the Verizon number that is given on the website and told them I was interested in the edge plan for the 5c and asked for more information, ( I thought the guy at the store was wrong and I was checking). The woman I talked.......long story short, I talked to 8 people including 2 managers and none of them could tell me why I did not qualify for the edge financing (even if switching the plan), SO I was hoping someone on here might could help. I have been a customer since Verizon bought out Alltel, I have automatic payments set up with no late payments for as long as I can remember, and was eligible for an upgrade on 01/03/2013. Any experience or advice in this area would be appreciated.

Here is my advice, at least. Not sure if anyone will agree, but it is my take on the problem.
With the Edge program, there is a "possibility" that someone will pay full price for a phone. This is not always the case, though. IF you do not complete ALL of the 24 months of payments, then you WILL NOT have paid full price for the phone, but simply a portion of the full price. THAT is why it does not make the plan "eligible" to keep your unlimited data. With the Edge plan, technically you only have to pay 50% of the full price before you can trade it in for another phone on the Edge plan. The way the plan is designed, the majority of people WILL NOT ever pay full price for the phone, but only a portion of the full price before they exchange their phone for a new device. That is what Verizon is hoping for, at least.
As Ann154 has pointed out, you can use the Device Payment Plan and keep your unlimited data. At no time during your contract can you trade THAT phone in to get another phone. You would have to continue making the payments on THAT phone along with any other phone you upgraded to. THAT is the difference between the 2 plans. You WILL end up paying full price for the phone on the Device Payment Plan, where you can STOP making payments on a phone with the Edge Plan if you turn it in for another device.
