Firefox becomes unresponsive (has timeout error) when trying to print very long webpages (e.g. 100 pages).

I need to print off one long webpage containing a whole load of customer invoices. For anything up to about 40 pages this is not a problem. However, if the webpage contains more pages Firefox is unable to cope.
While data is being sent to the printer a little green progress bar appears. This bar continues for a while and then stops. Some sort of timeout error appears (i can't remember the wording) and firefox becomes unresponsive. I have to start task manager in order to close Firefox.
I then have to open a different browser in order to print the long webpage.
Anyone know of any settings I can play with to fix this?

Hi,
Please also try this setting: Windows start menu or Control Panel > '''Devices and Printers''', right-click the printer > '''Printer properties''' > '''Advanced''', and select '''Start printing after the last page is spooled'''. In this case you can also close Firefox after spooling is over (usually much faster than direct printing), and printing will continue.
Also as a general case, if you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and its related processes/files in all the different configuration modules/areas of the security software like process monitoring, sub/spawned process control, virtualization, HIPS etc., in addition to the security software's main configuration panel. Instead create new fully allowed/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes in all the different modules/panels - a genuine/original Firefox installer as well as all the installed EXEs (Application) and DLLs (Application extension) are digitally signed by Mozilla Corporation (right-click > Properties > Digital Signatures). Even otherwise, some security software may also ask again when Firefox and/or its sub processes are started, and you may be able to allow/trust at that time. FireFox keep saying "unexpected error" when trying to print web pages. The print preview works OK, but when you try to print that "unexpected error" jumps up.
Please email me on what to do to get FireFox to work.

  • Firefox gives me "Content Encoding Error" when trying to navigate through websites.

I have been having trouble when using Firefox. I am continually getting a "Content Encoding Error" when trying to go from my home page to another page or even just going from the main page of a website to link on that site. I can't access facebook, yahoo mail, charter, google mail or any site without getting the "content encoding error" message at some point when on these sites. I am able to use ff on other computers in my house without any issues. I can't even run ff in safe mode. When I try to refresh some pages I get a box asking me if I want to open the application or save it to my computer. I never clicked anything saying I wanted to open it, I was just trying to refresh the page to get back to where I was. Is there a way to go back to the previous version of ff to get rid of the problem? Does that even fix the problem? Can someone please suggest something that I haven't tried so I can fix my problem? I didn't start having these issues until I got (at the time) the latest version. It has been giving me trouble for about 2 weeks now. Thanks

  • Rundll32 error when trying to print in colour, or trying to change/configure print settings.

    Hey there,
I just got a new Windows 8.1 computer.  I could print fine for a few days with my HP CP1215 in color.  Then I changed it default to grayscale, and when I went to change it back, it told me the driver is not installed.  I reinstalled the driver, and went to Properties, and it says RUNDLL32 ERROR.
Then it says the driver isn't installed.
And then I start all over again.
    Please help.

    Hi Divechickie,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you are getting a error when trying to open the printer properties on Win 8.1 after reinstalling the printer driver. I will be happy to help you.
If you are using the Windows built in driver then I would download and run the HP Color Laserjet Plug and Play Package. HP Color LaserJet CP1215 Printer Drivers.
If that doesn't work you could do a system restore back to when everything was working properly.
How to refresh, reset, or restore your PC.
    Hope this resolves your issue.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • I'm suddenly getting a "communication error" when trying to print

When trying to print a document from Pages, which I have done before, my computer is showing "communication error" in the printer window.

    HI Larry,
You have helped me before i remember with a whole iphoto NiGhtMaRe!
As i said to leonie i have solved it by deleting all the previously saved photos and then it worked.
After which i formatted the card as per your suggestion and everything seems okay.
It was all overdue. Leaving that many photos on one card was stupid.
    Anyway thanks all.

  • Hi There, I have a problem when trying to print either Email or from a web page.

    Hi There,
I have a problem when trying to print contents fro either Email's or from web pages, the problem started after i opened Google earth and it down loaded Google Chrome i do not like Google chrome so i removed it from my pc via add and remove programmes since then when i try to print an email i get what looks like the computer settings for writing the email and not the text same for web pages, as anyone come across this problem before i can print any word or spreadsheet documents but problem is with email's and web pages.
    Many Thanks.

Something changed on your system, possibly when Google Chrome installed. It could  be many things, but what it boils down to, is it needs to go back to the way it was. Either by removing whatever else might still be left from the install, or maybe by reinstalling the printer itself.

  • 'Printing Error' error when trying to print in Safari

Hello, I am running OSX Mavericks and ran into this problem tonight.  I have been using my new Macbook air for over a month and never had this problem happen at all.  Whenever I try to print something from a webpage Safari gives me the error ' Print error' and no other info.  No printing happens obviously.  I have deleted the printer and added it again, I have deleted the drivers and installed them again.  The only thing that seems to work is that if I restart the computer and try to print it will work 1 time and 1 time only.  Then I get the same print error warning.  Any ideas???  Thanks in advance!

Linc, thanks for the help.  I have kind of figured it out...maybe.  I have never had this issue at all on any of my Macs (3).  Last night when this started to happen I was attempting to print some reviews off of Amazon (which i had never attempted before either).  So I would print one page of the review on first attempt no problem but then have to shut the computer off to be able to then print the next page of reviews.  I then tried to print off other sites and I had no problem.  I just now printed our convo above and it cabme out no problem and I can print PDF's and word documents no problem.  So it looks like maybe Amazon has something that stops you from printing their reviews maybe???  I had to save the review webpage as a PDF file and then print it, which worked.  So looks like Amazon does not want their reviews printed I guess.  Cheers for the help though!

  • HP Device Not Found Error when trying to print or scan wireless- HP Officejet Pro L7590

Have had HP Officejet Pro L7590 All-In-One Printer for years.  Always worked fine and I had no issues printing via wireless connection.  Several months ago..  Possibly after a Windows 8 update.  From Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I have not been able to use the printers wireless feature.  When I try to print or scan it shows the printer as offline.  Also get an error message that tells me "HP Imaging device is not found".  I can still print when connected to USB.  Cannot scan or use features of the HP software suite.  I have tried several times to correct.  Reloading the software and drivers several times, but no success.  I just tried again and was able to print the test page wireless, so got all excited and thought I fixed it.  Then tried to print something and got the same error message I have seen in the past.  I have talked to certain supports saying that it may be a firewall setting within Windows.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks

  • Firefox 31.0 bug - FF crashes when trying to print Amazon web pages

Using Mac OS 10.6.8. Firefox crashing issue just started occurring for me after updating to FF 31.0 on 8-5-14. Prior to that FF has always worked perfectly for me with no printing issues or any other issues. Luckily FF does not crash when printing anything else. All other web pages work well so far except for Amazon.
Tried many different listings on Amazon but I get the same result; instant crash. Command P brings up the Print Window successfully, but as soon as I make the choice to Print, Preview or Save as a pdf, FF crashes. (By the way, my Safari browser works perfectly when printing these same web pages on Amazon. No crashes.)
Tried every single one of the Help suggestions regarding the printer settings, preferences, and other help suggestions for crashing issues but they made no difference at all. Cleared my FF cookies and cache, cleared my system and user caches, updated Flash Player and checked that all plugins were up-to-date, ran Disk Utility to repair permissions, and reset PRAM, but no luck.
Decided to reset FF last night but that resulted in no change at all. FF still crashes when attempting to print from Amazon. I reported this issue to Amazon, and they said they would contact Mozilla about it too. Thank you.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
#Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. (Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the ID's. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)

  • Error WHen trying to print a crystal report

I am trying to print a system crystal report and it is giving me the following error: "Error during printing; ensure all parameters are defined". And it prints the first page, but none of the consecutive pages if there are more than 1. Is there some type of setting that needs to be set for printing?

Hmmmmm it says "page range" ALL. I was able to print fine until I created a new layout and saved it. THen I went to print it and got the error. But it seems I get the error when I print any crystal report in any DB. Is this a setting in crystal, SAP, or printer itself? I can print the second page if I toggle through to the second page on the crystal report view, and go to print, and put 2 next to pages feild. Otherwise it is set to print ALL, however it is not doing that.

  • Windows error when trying to print

When I try to print from Photoshop CS6 (Creative Cloud) I get a Windows PopUp Error message saying That Photoshop CC has stopped working, Photoshop then shuts down.
My system is running Windows 7, 64 bit and has 16gb RAM. It all worked perfectly until last week and everything else with Photoshop CC and Lightroom appear to be working fine. Any suggestions to a possible cause and or fix to the problem?
    Many thanks
    Nigel

You have not provided any proper technical information, most notably details about your printer. It's more likely that your printer driver has changed or some outdated default printer settings have been stored that are incompatible with PS or the settings stored in the work documents. Could even be trivial stuff like your spooler folder and print quueu simply being full due to failed printer jobs.

  • I am getting an unknown error when trying to download a word document from mail to pages, any help

I am trying to download a word document from mail into pages and I keep getting an unknown error message, are there special settings for this? Any help much appreciated!

Not there aren't any special settings for this. You just use the Open In feature to save the document into Pages. You could have a font in the document that Pages doesn't like, maybe something that you copied and pasted from somewhere into the document that went corrupt. But there is nothing special about the way that you save a Word document into Pages. You save it like you save any document or file into a compatible app.

  • Error when trying to print a form

    Hi all,
I'm getting the following error when I try to print a form (transaction SFP - Form Builder):
Cannot find PDL type for output device LOCL
    Message no. FPRUNX113
Does anybody know why I'm getting this error? I get it for all forms I try, but not when e.g. I print some source code in se80..., so I guess it's not due to my printer settings.
    tia,
    Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,
Maybe you don't have in the TSP03 table the Printer Declaration for the LOCL Output Device (TSP03-PADEST field).
Please take a look at SE16 transaction to confirm it.
NOTE: Try to see also the ADS_GET_PRINTER_ATTRIBUTES function module and the LFP_PRINTPRI include, the error you are getting is occurring in the Line 60 of that include.
    Regards,
    Daniel Carvalho.
