Firefox can't but Safari can view "statements." CGI files. In Safari open as PDFs. How do I view in Firefox?

Several banking and utility company websites' statements open as PDF's in Safari. In Firefox they download only as CGI files. How do I view/open these statements in Firefox?

I wasn't able to open the files and since the documentation says you can't manually add a file type I saw no way to implement this solution. If I could get it to work, it seems it would be a better solution then downloading the file, renaming it with a PDF extension in order to view the file.

  • I tried moving an album from iPhoto to Pictures.  It took the entire iPhoto Library.  Now I can't use it, and I cannot open it.  How do I get it back to just iPhoto?

I tried moving an album from iPhoto to Pictures, but the entire iPhoto Library moved.
I now cannot open iPhoto.  How can I get it back?

A folder named Library popped up in Pictures.  I didn't want the entire Library, just the one album.
When I open the Library Folder in Pictures, I get sub folders dated with years.
When I open the subfolders, I just keep getting more folders.
This looks like you were viewing your iPhoto Library; the contents of the Masters folder. Is your original iPhoto library still there?
Where do you keep your iPhoto library? In the default location in your "Pictures" folder?

  • Open a pdf - how can I stop Windows Media Player ASSUMING default

I download a pdf - and I want to store it in a file I keep for Adobe pdf's but I download it and it comes in and Windows Media player ASSUMES - it is a job for Windows - how do I fix this - because Windows Media Player - is not all it is cracked up to be and I want to choose all the defaults for myself - would it be better to uninstall Media Player - I have Media Monkey - and the only program to download a pdf - IMnsHO is Adobe so I would want to make Adobe my default for opening and storing - pdf's
My Purpose is to download and store in pdf format - recipes from Noreen's Kitchen - for this I MUST have Adobe and I do - the latest version - but When Windows Media dives in - it seems to cut Adobe off
    Bad that - please help

Thank you cor-el you have helped me AGAIN and I am - as I was last time BEST PLEASED - the solution looks simplicity itself and all the best solutions are supposed to be the simple ones - what I must do now it to save the two on my Top Sites Homepage until I can print them off - they will need saving they are so good

  • Can a mind map file .mgmx be opened on an iMac?

I received a mindmap file .mgmx from a friend.  Can this file type be opened on an iMac?  Do I need a special app?

No, however according to http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/mgmx your friend can export the file to PDF which is easily read.

  • How can I convert JPG files in multiple subfolders into PDFs with a batch?

So here's the situation. I'm sitting on 400+ files, each in its own individual subfolder which also contains 4-10 other files. Those files I don't care about, only the .jpg file. I want to be able to take all of those .jpg files and convert them into PDFs, saving them in the same original folder. I've tried making an action to do this but it selects all the files in the folder and converts them as well.

Should be, yes... It's one of the options of the batch processes. I believe
it's under the first step, the one where you select which folder/files to
process. There should be a window there to select which file types to
process as well. Untick everything except for JPG and it should work...

  • Safari opens my PDF files but it's blank. Why?

I use safari and I was trying to open a PDF file on my schools website. When the page came up (still in safari) it was blank. Why? I haven't changed anything that I know of.

    Hi...
    Go to  /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin (or just PDF Browser plugin) to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari. Try a PDF file.

  • Why won't safari open a pdf

I've downloaded reader-- checked the 32-bit deal, made sure pdf's are opened by reader and still safari won't open a pdf.  What have I missed?

I am a developer who has been sending Livecycle Acrobat documents to users over the internet. The upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7 and Safari 5.1.2 has caused this problem for many of my users.  The only solution I've been able to find so far is to use FireFox and Acrobat Reader.
Our software does not provide a link to a PDF.  Instead, we send the PDF with header for inline; and a type of application/pdf and a generated file name.  Safari INSISTS on opening this in the viewer.  The viewer doesn't open LiveCycle documents.
I've tried removing the pdf plugin.
I've tried making the appropriate changes to the Acrobat Reader preferences under "Display PDF in browser using," but this option is actually greyed out and automatically selects/deselects based on the existance of the plug-in.
I've tried doing CMDl-I on a PDF file and changing the "Open With" to pdf reader.
I've tried adding code to the .htaccess directory of my web site forcing the header based on the .pdf extension.
In short, I have not found ANY solution to this.  Safari will not use Acrobat or Acrobat Reader and Safari will not open a LiveCycle document.
If anyone has another suggestion I would LOVE to hear it.  This is a major problem for us and I hate to try to tell our entire user community that they have to switch to FireFox if they want to view our documents.

  • Users open shared files but they get an error that file is already open when actually its not

we have a windows 2012 r2 environment with a hyper-v cluster with 4 virtual servers (2012r2) that are located on an hp storage.
users in the office work on windows 7 pc's and sometimes (more than once per day) when they try to open word or excel files from a shared folder they get a message that the file is already open so it opens in read only mode and they cannot save it. we are
pretty sure and tested that that folder is not open from any other user, because some users tried to open files randomly back from 2012 and they got the same errors again.
i cannot reproduce when i want the problem. i may try reopening files for an hour without having problems.
i tried also to write down the hours that the users may have mostly the problem but i couldnt figure a specific time on the day that the problem occurs.its random.
i want to also notice that we have symantec backup exec 2014 and taking backup on tapes and on deduplication folder with the advanced open file option set to "let VSS to select automatically the provider"
the file server does not record any events in system or dfs replication tab. they only events we got once per 1 or 2 days are in the application tab and its exactly this "the volume recovery was not optimized because an error was encountered:
the file move failed 0x89000016) event id 257,defrag"
i hope i gave u an accurate description of my problems. i really have to solve this.
    kostask

    Hi Kostak,
Have you tried to use Process Explorer?
    More info: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
Simple usage: Part 1: Using SysInternals Process Explorer to solve issues
when trying to clean up files and folders...
This is what I am using to track file handles when tried to open or deleted. Normally I am finding that backup/vss process has taken, antivirus was scanning, or indexing services were working.
I would recommend you to do the next:
    - Disable Windows Search from: Control Panel> All Items> Programs and features> Turn Windows Features On or Off> Uncheck Windows Server. Go to services.msc and Stop Windows Search service.
    - Exclude affected folder(s) or drive(s) from antivirus scan/protection, at least 24h.
    - Disable backup/vss operations on the drive(s) for at least 24h.
Hope it helps, I know how itchy can be this kind of issue at the office :)

  • SAFARI: opening of pdf files

    My Safari version is 2.0.4.
Previously all pdf files opened automatically in Adobe Acrobat 7.0. During the past couple of weeks I have been compelled to "control click" on the document to open it in Abobe PDF format.
This is inconvenient. Surely there should be a default setting whereby pdf documents are opened automatically in an Adobe PDF format?
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I'm not sure if I've got this right but it sounds like you are opening the .pdf file in your browser. Instead of left-clicking on the link to the .pdf, try right-clicking (or control-clicking) on the link and choose "download linked file."
If that is not what you meant, check out this link:

    Hope this works.

  • How can I get a file to automatically open on startup?

I have a WORD file with my internet passwords that I want to automatically open when I start the computer. I did this once, but I can't remember how to do it. I've checked the System Preferences and the Finder, but I can't find any way to do it again.

Add it to the list of login items for your account in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences.

i would like to know why the application has this elay i really want to avoid it
because every tome i want to oppen an image there is a risk it would take a minnute or two

In the finder right click on the iPhoto library and show package contents, find the folder named import (or importing) and drag it to the desk top. Do NOT make any other changes of any sort. Launch iPhoto and you will Be fine. Open the import(ing) folder and if there are any photos in it you need import them to iPhoto then trash the imoort(ing) folder.
