Firefox can't get my location on geolocation oriented websites

Hello,
all html5 getting position codes are not working with me here, like this page : http://www.browserleaks.com/geo
it always returns error (2) POSITION_UNAVAILABLE on other browsers and it is returning nothing by firefox.
the same page is working for my friends abroad, i am located in Syria, and i don't know what blocks me from getting my position.
maybe it is not firefox problem but at the end i have to ask browsers venders about my issue, so please help me to know the reason because i need to solve it that i am developing a geolocation aware website.
thank you.

I can't get my location bar or back/forward buttons to show up.

    * If, on Windows, in Firefox 3.6 the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down or press F10, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" and check-mark "Menu Bar" with a click on it to make that permanent. See [[Menu bar is missing]]).
    * Make sure that you have the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window
    * If you see the missing item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window onto one of the toolbars.
    * If, in "View > Toolbars > Customize", you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button

Can i get mouse location and event outside JFrame?
any related link or document? thx~

what I figure out from your question is that, you want to get the coordinates even if the mouse is not directly interacting with any of the java components of your application.
I would consider this as an interaction with the OS so that it sends a call to your java program as well when ever the mouse event occurs. If you use JNI to catch system events, I think it should work.

  • How can I get my display to change orientation vertical to horizontal

How can I get orientation of display (vertical to horizontal) to change with phone position

It should change automatically when you turn the phone but note that there are some screens such as the home screen that do not rotate and some apps that don't support rotation. Also the orientation can be locked. You can turn the lock on or off by opening Control Center (while on the home screen swipe up with one finger starting from below the bottom of the screen). The orientation lock control is on the right end of the top row in Control Center and looks like a lock inside a partially circular arrow. When on, the same icon displays in the menu bar.

  • Can't get CS3 to activate online or on the phone and can't get a human being via this website

I said it all in the header. Is anyone out there???!!!! I've been going in circles on this useless site for 30 minutes.

This is a user-to-user forum, so they are under no obligation to do so. However, in my experience, Adobe employees do occasionally pop their heads into some forums.

    I'm a human! I can't help much, but I'm a human.
I can't see that link you posted - as it appears to be a direct message. Try posting a screenshot.
If you want help on these forums from people, sharing more information might also help. When you say that you can't get it to activate, what do you mean? What steps are you taking? What is happening in response to those steps? Are you getting error messages? If so, what is the text of those messages?
I mean, I don't have a copy of CS3 laying around the office to follow along (I mean, that's five versions ago!), but it's possible that some others here might. (I might actually have it at home though, now that I think about it. When I get home tonight, If I remember, I might give it a go)
I assume you've already gone through these steps from the Activation & Deactivation Help page:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
    Start the application.
Choose Help > Activate. (If this option is dimmed, you've activated your software)
Log in with your Adobe ID (usually your email address) to activate your software. If you don’t have an Adobe ID, you see an option to create one.
Optional (CS5 & earlier): After you activate, also register your Adobe product for faster and easier access to support and upgrades.

  • On my work computer, on the work network (not at home), FireFox can't get into gmail, nor see graphics on this site or ones like Linkedin. Settings to change?

Got a new computer at work that is very locked down. I am running Firefox off my USB since they give us only IE 8 and a very locked down Chrome that has no access to extensions,
At work (not at home), when I try to get into gmail, I get all these certificate errors. Granting exceptions doesn't work.
Another problem is when I go to sites like this one, or like Linkedin, it is all text, no graphics. But when I use this same computer on my home network, there is no problem.
Would appreciate if there is some setting I can change on this to enable access.

On your work computer, you're probably behind a proxy server. When you make exceptions and proceed to a site, often you will get an incomplete page load because many sites now use multiple servers and the exception only covers the main one.
Assuming that is the problem, you may be able to import whatever certificate IE and Chrome are using to get around this problem. (They both share the Windows certificate store.) In particular, there would be an master certificate that the proxy is using to sign its fake SSL certificates that you could export from IE and import into Firefox as an Authority. I assume this would work on a Portable version of Firefox, but I've never heard of anyone trying it.

  • Firefox can't find my location

Firefox recently updated itself to the newest version. I don't know which version that was because I already uninstalled it and installed an older version, which does not have the problem the new version has. And that problem is that Firefox no longer can determine my location. A weather site and a hotel that wanted to obtain my location were not able to with the new version of FF.
These sites work on IE and they work with my now-installed older version. There used to be a small popup that would ask if it was ok if Firefox shared my location, but this popup no longer appears. Believe me I tried a great many things to fix it, all of which did not work. But installing an older version works just great. Anybody else having this problem? Any fixes?

Disabling and then enabling my sensor did not work either.

  • How can i get my location to work on my ipad?

I am trying to use an app on my ipad that uses my location.  I have turned my location on but it still isn't working.  I have tried turning off and back on, but that doesn't work.  Any suggestions?

It appears you have a WiFi only iPad.  Location services are often dependent on the router.  There a couple things you might try.
    1.  Reset Network settings on your iPad.  This has helped others who experienced the same issues in the past (you will have to re-input your router login, so make sure you know it).
    2.  In Safari, open Google Maps and see if it finds your location.  This has also helped others who had location issues.

  • Website will load but can't get to other pages in the website?

Am using a bank site for paying credit card bill, etc. Initial site will open after entering username, password, etc. but cannot continue on to other pages. Receive this message "This page is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. " and have tried later but with same result. Have went to add ons and disabled, re-enabled and tried to update but this hasn't helped. Recently updated to Firefox Version 22 (Mac) and this problem showed up after doing that. Can still do what I need to on Safari (haven't tried Chrome) but would like to get back to using Firefox so don't have to go to different browser to complete certain tasks. Thanks for any help.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • How can I get rid of BlockandSurf on some websites?

On some websites ads will pop up and they say "Ads by BlockandSurf". I tried to remove it, even went into the Registry editor on my pc and found it and deleted it, but it still comes up.

Hmm, sounds like either a bad add-on or a service of some kind (e.g., a proxy).
Here's the method I suggest for investigating a possible bad add-on:
    (1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Add/Remove Programs. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
    (2) Open Firefox's '''Add-ons page''' using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click '''Plugins'''. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Any improvement?
    (3) You can search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case.
To check your Firefox connection setting, you can use the Options dialog:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" setting. You could try "No proxy" to see whether that works better.
