• Firefox cannot load a specific website but other programs can

I have a rare problem with firefox (3.6.18 at the moment)
I have to work with a modified mantis bug tracker and the site wont load (the tab says "Loading..." and the bottom status bar says "waiting yourdomain.com...")
I can reproduce this and seems to be related to the cookies: I have a page with a big image still loading, I submit a form from this page and that is were the problem happens.
From here no page from this bug tracker will load.
This only happens to me with firefox and not with other browsers.
If I clear the cookies, the site will load again.
Hope you can help me
Thanks, Fernando.

You can try to load that page in Private Browsing mode.
*To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
* Select: [x] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
In PB mode Firefox doesn't use the disk cache and the cookies from normal mode.

• Firefox cannot load a certain website, but other people I have talked to can access that same website.

I was at a chat site today, when it suddenly went blank. I tried to go back to that chat site, but I get the problem loading page error, that says Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at that site. I have asked a few people on my messenger if they can get to that site, and they can. Why can't I?

Other things that need your attention:
Your More system details list list shows two old Flash plugins.

Update the Flash plugin to the latest version.

You can find the old Flash 9.0 plugin file NPSWF32.DLL in the plugins folder within the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\) and remove that file.<br />
Also remove the flashplayer.xpt file in the components folder, if it is there.<br />

• Firefox cannot load only one website that I use often. It suddenly froze while I was on it. Now I can load only when I use another computer. All other websites load fine.

No further detail.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. This site is obviously a scam since it offers a 280% return on your capital in only 40 days. If that was true, the media would be alight with excitement, but if you do a search for investment reviews, you'll only come across a couple of very obscure sites which purport to show that the plan is 'real'.
Sounds like another Bernard Madoff scam to me. But at least he was realistic in offering only a 12% return on your invested capital.
To troubleshoot your problem though, try running Firefox in Safe Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

• Firefox cannot load websites, but IE can, even after I tried all the ideas in the current articles on this topic as of March 10, 2011!

Firefox cannot load ANY websites, but IE can, even after I tried all the ideas in the current articles on this topic as of March 10, 2011!
One day it was fine, and the next day it stopped working! I have tried everything suggested under the topic "Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can."

You should e able to install FlashPlayer separately on IE and Firefox. So you may use Flash 11.3 on IE and 11.2 or 10.3 on Firefox.
Work from the administrator account. First of all sort out Firefox, use the Adobe uninstaller to uninstall Flash before reinstalling 11.2 Afterwards check that IE is ok, the Uninstaller may have changed that so you may need to reinstall Flash on IE.
* see instructions in flash 11.3 crashes
You are apparently using an outdated Firefox 8. That is not secure you should update to the latest Release Firefox 13 (or within a day or so Firefox 14)
You may also encounter problems relating to use of RealPlayer software and that software may affect use of FlashPlayer 11.3
* see also Fix problems with RealPlayer add-ons
* a user blacksabath710 recently posted a workaround in [/questions/931055] suggesting use of free software from http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/
P.S.
When you finish set Firefox's FlashPlayer not to upgrade, and until this issue is resolved do not follow suggestions from Adobe, or Plugincheck etc. to upgrade Flash.
Use this test page form Adobe in each browser and account to check Flash is working ok
* http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
The test page will display version information and error messages or a Flash animation to prove flash is working.

Well, this is embarrassing. We tried to display this Web page, but it's not responding.
Tell Mozilla about this crash so they can fix it.
Or sometimes for the last tab it shows :
Websites show a spinning wheel and never finish loading
Of course other browsers works 'perfectly' onto loading sites.
What can I do. Is this an e10s bug, that I could help to qualify and how?
Also looking for a workaroud. I want to restore my tabs onto a non-e10s window, but really don't figure how to do that. Means, after relaunching FF-nightly, restore my windows and tabs.
He still give me this message :
Nightly is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. blah blah...
I want to disable e10s as of for now, until he will maybe work again.

If you would like to disable e10s please follow these steps:

Don't worry e10s is getting better every day. It's just a matter of time and hard work.

Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

• Firefox cannot load websites, but other programs can. Listed guide/faq not effective.

I went through the FAQ guide for firefox not loading webpages, but after having changed both boolean setting in the about:config section of the firefox advanced settings, deleting and re-adding it to the program permissions list in my firewall (mcafee antivirus 2011), and even attempting to completely disable the firewall for a period of time, I am still unable to browse the internet on firefox. Internet explorer, however, does work.

all website went "Not Found HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found." and the "Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can" page is not helping in any ways

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

All of sudden firefox would not work. When I click on the icon, I get a message that says Firefox cannot load, your profile is missing or is inaccessiable. I hate having to use Internet Explorer.

Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin. Read all of the following articles.<br /><br />
NOTE: Establish a habit of exiting/closing Firefox with Firefox button > Exit or File > Exit to allow an orderly shutdown of Firefox and closing of all of the files that Firefox has open.

• Cannot load iweb created website onto iphone.

Cannot load iweb created website with iphone. I have tried with 2 iphones and they couldnt load the page. I also have tried with windows 7 internet explorer, safari and in Leopard also, they'dd all work.
All I get from my iphone is : Safari could not open the page because the server has stopped responding.

I think I found your problem Safari on the iPhone does not like "framesets"
Safari on iPhone does not support:
Events: mouseover and mouseout, including :hover styles and tool tips, (but it does support onclick and event listeners). Safari on the iPhone does not support the document events of onkeydown, onkeypress and onkeyup, the form-field events of ondblclick, onmouseenter, onmouseleave, onmousemove, and onSelect, and the window events of onresize and onScroll. This is not an exhaustive list, so test your event handlers before listening to me.
window.showModalDialog()
Plug-ins: Flash or Java, and plug-in installations. Do not ask users to download Flash.
File-size: Non-streaming files of over 10MB. CSS, JavaScript and HTML files are limited to 10MB per file. JavaScript is limited to 5 seconds of execution time. Safari for the iPhone does support gzip compression, so compress!
The iPhone does not support gifs, png or tiffs over 8 MB and jpgs over 128 MB (but does support larger streaming media files).
You can use iFrames, but avoid framesets.
