Firefox cant open google after updating to 13.0.1

I experience this after updating my browser yesterday. All the other sites work well. Only google.co.uk opens. Actually, none of google services (search, maps, gmail etc) is loading. It is working fine with no problem in IE.
The proxy setting is fixed (no proxy), but this still didnt help.
Scanning with antivirus didnt show anything aswell.
Cleaning history and cookies didnt help as well as turning all extensions and plugins installed.
Error console is also empty.
Trying to open google just times out, even without showing any info that page is unavaible or anything.
The weird thing is that entering google ip, the site works fine, so it must be the dns problem...

hi. I also had this problem and I tried everything. I uninstalled ff then reinstalled it (*all my settings were saved but I had to download it via ftp cos IE wudnt let me download directly- pain in the neck are IE.) this didn't work. so don't try it. Its more stress than its worth!
After reading thru this thread, i got a solution, but some of you may have overlooked this, I think.
SOLUTION- Go to Tools/Options/Advanced
-and if both SSL and TSL are checked then -DO NOT THINK THAT THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM! which is what I thought at first, but IT IS!
this is what I do and it works every time (but I often have to do it every time I start FF)
first uncheck SSL, then try to open google, or other website that wont load, a page will load that says SECURE CONNECTION FAILED, then go back to Tools/Options/Advanced and check SSL again, then OK. Then go back to Failed page and press TRY AGAIN, and Voila!!!! page shud open. this works for any google related site!
hope Iv been helpful, and lets just hope that this big bad jungle world we live in will change, and make things easier for us little ppl.

• Firefox cannot open google

Everytime i type in www.google.com I get this:
The connection has timed out
The server at www.google.com is taking too long to respond.
I have a laptop which runs firefox and opens google just fine. I have cleared my cache and cookies and tried all the other suggestions on the forums with no luck. I even tried getting there through a proxy server but had no luck.
HELP?!?

You have to delete your cache and cookies: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=7151a96597e7c798&hl=en
I tried deleting various subsets of cookies and, in the end, deleted all cookies. After that, everything worked OK.

How I can closed all open application after update to iOS 7.0.2.0?? Before this v iOS7 we was can closed any application's open :(

There's no good way to do it. But you don't need to. iOS 7 automatically handles whether an application takes up memory or has files open. There's no real advantage to you ever closing an application yourself.
If you are having problems with a particular app, please describe them.

Note: You will not lose any data.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > sign out and sign in again.

Do you have the latest version of iBooks (version 3.1.1, released August 20, 2013)?
If not, go to the App Store and update all your apps.

• Firefox is unbearably slow after updating to version 27

After updating to Firefox 27 all webpages take a few dozen seconds to several minutes to load. When loading a webpage Firefox's status displays "connecting" and the CPU gets maxed out with 95 to 100% of its cycles taking by Firefox.
The computer is older so it is a little slow but Internet Explorer 8 has no trouble opening the webpages and neither do other computers on the LAN so it is not a network issue. I have tried restarting Firefox, disabling add-ons, deleting add-ons, disabling hardware acceleration, restarting the computer, and reinstalling Firefox after wiping every trace of it and its user data from the hard drive and registry.

Rather a long thread so I will add some comments here where easily seen.
* For general problems please see my post [/questions/985969?page=3#answer-546520]
Updated 30th April 2014 to mention the outstanding known issue (aka the bug with only three votes)
* Just below that ''jigebren'' has kindly summarised some workarounds at that particular time and the issues found from this thread [/questions/985969?page=3#answer-546599]
Modified June 18, 2014 6:08:41 AM PDT by John99
* Workaround,
A chrome hack to disable the throbber may resolve the issue as a workaround allowing pages to load quickly. See my post [/questions/985969?page=4#answer-595327]

I had a very similar issue on a similar computer (Windows XP SP3, Pentium 4 2.4GHz, Nvidia GeForce FX 5500), and it came down that in my case the slowdown was simply introduced by animations (I believe the simple rotating icon on the tab was enough to slow the loading of a webpage).
The CPU used to reach around 100% in [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Task_Manager#Performance Kernel mode] (for info this is the red line in the Windows Task Manager. To enable it go to the "Performances" tab then in the "View" menu ensure "Show kernel times" is selected).
To know if you face the same issue:
* Type "about:support" in the address bar and press Enter.
* In the "graphics" section check the line with the entry "AzureContentBackend".
* If the value is "cairo" you may well face the same issue than I did.
In that case I have found a workaround:
* Type "about:config" in the address bar and press Enter.
* Search for "gfx.content.azure.backends".
* The value should be "direct2d,cairo". Edit it to be simply "direct2d" (ie. remove "cairo"), then restart Firefox.
I have already filled a bug report which can be found here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=973149
Feel free to add feedback if you have the same issue.

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

• Firefox Not Loading Websites After Update

''locking this thread as duplicate, please continue at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1053378 /questions/1053378]''
Firefox has stopped working after latest update. I can open it up but then it wont load any websites. It just keeps loading. After if I close it and try to re-open it I get the following error message: "Firefox is already running, but not responding. The old firefox process must be closed to open a new window" and it never opens. If I try to end the process in task manager I can't as it doesn't do anything when I attempt to end the process. Then the only way I can get back on firefox is to restart my computer. This is happening on both my PC and my Laptop both running Norton Security Suite.
Please HELP! as I have tried everything and nothing fixes it. I have tried the following troubleshoot solutions with no luck:
1) Reinstall Firefox
2) Refresh Firefox
3) Removing Firefox from the list of accepted programs in firewall and then adding it back (this was done through Norton as it is managing my Windows Firewall)
4) Creating a new profile and using that one instead
5) Starting Firefox in Safe Mode
6) Updating firefox
7) Updating Norton
Nothing seems to be Working and I'm starting to get frustrated. Any Help is appreciated. Thanks

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

• Firefox won't start after updating

Firefox recently completed an auto-update, however now the software won't load.
If I click on the Firefox icon, I get the Windows egg timer for about 10 seconds, then the pointer reverts to normal and nothing happens. If I open Task Manager at the same time, when I click on the Firefox icon, I see the application listed for approximately 5 seconds, then it's removed from the list.
I have tried running in compatibility mode, as well as removing and re-installing, neither of which have helped.
Can you advise, please ?
