Firefox closed and now it says that I get a connection error. IE and AOL work just fine but I use my Firefox won't connect
I use Firefox for going online all the time. Now, suddenly, when I try to connect it says the server can't be found. Internet Explorer and AOL are working just fine. However, I don't want to use them.
How do you fix this?

To turn on/off retail mode, go to settings, general, legal.
Do not open legal, just put the cursor there.
Then, on the remote, type this sequence : right - right - left - center.

Hi, I m using an iPhone 4 and my yahoo push email was working just fine but for the last few days I am experiencing some problem that is the emails are not getting pushed , I have to manually fetch the mails. So what could be the reason for this.....I have set the email setting to "push" mode. Moreover I can't edit the mail server address ....current it's on Yahoo SMTP server

The only way to install OS 9.2.2 is using the install CD/DVD that came with the Mac, since these are special versions of OS 9.2.2.
If you just want to run classic mode, copy the System Folder from another Mac that has OS 9.1 (or better with 9.2.1 or 9.2.2) installed. A USB thumb dive works great for this. Transfer the folder to your Mac. It won't interfere with your OS X system which is in a folder titled System.

Well, I have an iPod Classic, it gave me the error -1436 error and would not restore on iTunes.
I did the following:
My Boss (@work) has a fairly old iBook but it has OS-X, so I decided to give it a try and connected my iPod to it.
The system showed a window telling me that the disk is not MAC formated and needs to be validated prior further action. Snce it is a Mac product, I thought "yeah, go ahead".
It then opens the disk manager utility for the Mac and showed the disk. It's window has some tabs, one is to verify the disk, so I verified it. Guess what, it had some invalid clusters.
Then I formatted the iPod to OS-X Plus file system (next tab to the right). After formating the iPod, I "ejected" the iPod and reconnected to my PC. The Windows iTunes found an iPod with Mac file system and asked me to restore it. As I clicked on the "restore" button, I crossed my fingers as this was the last resource I have.
Finally, after the file extraction was done, it began to restore the iPod!!
I'm so happy about being able to restore the iPod that I decided to share with all you guys this solution as it is the most usefull, in my opinion.
Hope you can find someone with an iBook or a desktop Mac, so you can fix yours.

Ok so recently we were having problems with our phone. We had to disconnect our modem in order to fix the phone lines and when that happened, our airpot extreme disconnected itself from the internet. No matter what I did i could not get it to connect back. I would power down the modem, I would reset the AE and nothing would happen.
I tried changing the DNS server and nothing happened. I always get the same messages in the airport utility app: No internet connection and no DNS server
Nothing I seem to do works. I do know for a fact though, that the problem is not the modem. I have connected it through ethernet to other devices and the internet has worked just fine.
Please please please if anybody sees this help me out!!Since you feel good about having internet access up to your Airport, I would suggest as a next step checking your Airport's status light to see if it is giving any clues as to what may be going on. Below is some info on what the light can indicate

I am running Mac OSX 10.5 and have never had issues with firefox. Then I noticed it starting to run much slower and having issues freezing, yet if I used safari there were no problems. I decided to uninstall firefox and all of the folders that go along with it to get a clean restart with a new download. Everything seemed to download fine, but when I attempt to open firefox it just opens a warning that says "a copy of firefox is already open" and my only option is to close the program. Yes, I have quit ALL applications and even restarted the computer to make sure nothing is running first.
This may be completely unrelated, but another issue nonetheless, shortly before I started having issues with firefox, it no longer would go to the hotmail login page to check my email. I didn't change any settings, but it would not load that webpage even though every other page works fine. I know it is not a problem with the hotmail site because every other computer in my home will go to the site and login, plus I can get into my email by going to MSN and logging in from there.Make sure that you haven't left a profiles.ini file.

The battery drain issue is really bad for my phone and I thought I would finally get round to downloading the new software...but now I can't. It says it's up to date when I know it's not. I tried re-downloading iTunes but that didn't work, and of course deactivating firewalls and stuff. Can someone help me?

I started firefox this morning just like normal, I didn't change ANYTHING on firefox or on my computer. Now all my bookmarks were randomly erased, and now Hulu is not working. This is the error message from hulu:

Firefox settings folders are called profiles. If you can switch Firefox from whatever pretty much empty profile folder it is using now back to your previous profile, this should resolve your issue. Hopefully with that context in mind, the earlier replies will make more sense.
Also, Java is a plugin used to play certain applets and JavaScript is a technology built into Firefox. For now, you can ignore Java and focus on JavaScript.
