Firefox closes after printing web pages.

Firefox 12.0 is my browser. Up-to-date. After printing a web page, Firefox closes. Doesn't happy with other printing i.e. Word docs. Virus/malware protection enabled and up-to-date. I don't see any setting that would be asking Firefox to close when finished, so what could be causing this?

Wow, that's incredibly inconvenient.
To be clear: Firefox is shutting down completely without displaying any error message? When you restart Firefox, does it work or do you get the error that Firefox is already running? Does Firefox suggest resuming your previous session or resume it automatically (i.e., Firefox recognizes that it crashed)?
Usually the first thing to try when printing misbehaves is to reset the various settings Firefox saves for your printer. You can do that in the about:config preferences editor with a lot of right-clicking.

Acrobat File Not Found After Printing Web Page

Here is my problem:
I am trying to print a web page from our intranet but once the process is complete, a log file opens saying:
"The system cannot find the file" and then it lists the file I just tried to create.
The page is basic HTML with a small amount of Javascript. Disabling the Javascript had the same problem.
The page is about 30 pages long. Only printing the first page had the same problem.
Printing to PDF on an external site had the same problem.
I tried the same process in Office and ran into the same problem.
Here is what I am doing:
I am opening the web page in the browser. I go to File > Print. I select "Adobe PDF" as my printer. I do not make any edits to the settings.
Here is my environment:
Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard
Windows XP SP3.
Tried it both in Firefox 3.6 & IE 7.
"Acrotray.exe" is running in the background.
Acrobat is completely updated.
Is it a setting issue? Possibly a software conflict issue?

Here are answers to your questions:
No, I cannot print to PDF from other applications.
I do have have the checkboxes to request filename and open in Acrobat selected.
I do not get an error from Distiller during the process of creating a PDF. It isn't until it is completely done that the log file pops up that simply says, "The system cannot find the file" and lists the file location (i.e. c:\users and settings\desktop...).
Beyond that log file, it looks like everything is running fine.
Let me know if any other information that will help.

Why won't Firefox let me print web pages on my Mac? Safari works fine...

Every time I try to print a web page or image or anything on Firefox, the printed version comes out mostly blank with things like "file:.... and 2 of 15 and Dates and 11..." in very small letters on the bottom of the page. It is not printing what I want it to at all. I looked on support.mozilla and went to about:config. There was no print.print_printer option for me to choose when I typed it in the filter field, and all of the rest of the print options there was available, the reset option was unavailable to click (it was all grey). Now what do I do? I need to use Firefox because one of the websites I need to use only uses the Firefox browser for Mac. Help please??

Installing nightly builds is not recommended for most people. If you install a nightly build you will get updates every day. Though the current nightly builds are stable, it is not unusual for them to be very unstable and at time unusable.

I HAVE NOW SOLVED THE PROBLEM BY RUNNING WINDOWS REGISTRY REPAIR TOOL WHICH HAS OBVIOUSLY REPAIRED CORRUPT REGISTRY FILES.

Printing web pages hogs the cpu. Only after printing is completely finished, I can access firefox again. Otherwise I get "not responding" error.

The print dialog comes when printing web pages and only when it goes away and printing finished, I can access the browser again.

Since the last update, to 7.0.1, I can't print web pages or e-mail from my Yahoo! account. The computer says it can't communicate with the printer. I guess I should have written that I had tried the tips on 'reset printer' and 'does not print to paper at all' before I posted the question - to no avail.
The printer starts as normal: it's the right printer selected, the dialogue window shows the progress of sending the data to the printer - and after that: that's it. It simply vanishes from the queue, and nothing happens.

When editing '''prefs.js''' you need to use a simple text editor program. WinXP Notepad messes up the line formatting of prefs.js, so I use Wordpad - but you need to save the edited file in a Text-Only format (Wordpad asks about that when you go to save the edited file). I never used Win7, so I don't know if that version of Notepad messes with the line formatting of prefs.js or not.
Another thing - make sure '''''"Hide extensions for known file types"''''' is de-delected in Windows file / folder options > view -> advanced settings. How do i get Firefox to print web pages in black and white only (colors are interpreted in grayscale and some are too light to be read)?

i have a black and white laser printer. Firefox prints web pages by sending color images to my printer. The printer uses greyscale to interpret the colors. i really want Firefox to send black and white images to my printer, because with greyscale some of the colors are translated to print that is too light to be seen clearly.
Can this be done?

i just tried disabling adblock and checking if i had any no script or noscript sort of addon. i do not have a script killer. disabling adblock did not solve the issue.

Why can't I print web pages in Firefox 5.0 or 6.0?

I have tried to upgrade to 5.0 and, most recently, to 6.0. But I end up having to downgrade to 3.6 because I am not able to print from either 5.0 or 6.0. When I click on 'print preview' or 'print,' nothing at all happens. No print preview screen nor print dialogue box. I really wish this problem could be fixed. My advice is to uninstall that extension. IMO, you have too many extensions installed, and are asking for problems with Firefox. I am not against using a lot of extensions in Firefox ''(I typically have 45 to 50 extensions installed, but the mix of extensions you have scares me as potentially problematic.)''
