Firefox closes existing window when you open and close a new window

When I'm using firefox and need to open a new window (or a website opens a new window) and I'm done with that new window and close it, Firefox attempts to also close the previous window that I am using. I've tried reinstalling, but other than that I don't know what to do. What usually happens when I close the window is that I have multiple tabs open in the other one and it asks me if I would like to close all my tabs. When I hit cancel, it asks me again. Once I hit cancel the second time it stops bothering me.

I thought it was doing that also. But I found that if I start a new chat with someone I was messaging before, then the old messages re-appear in the messages window.

    I prefer to use Firefox and very seldom use IE-9. but now I might be forced to remove Firefox 4.0.1 and resort to using IE-9 because of this situation.
    I don’t know how spammers can use our website to exploit their spamming, but I can only imagine the complaints I am going to get from our Board of Directors and members about this.
    Can you make them stop, or at least explain how it is that anyone can do this without our permission.
    We have never allowed advertisement on our website and don’t plan on starting now.

    I would appreciate any expediency in the return of an answer that you can provide.

    The "MySearchDial" app needs to be removed in 4 places.
    1) Go to "add / remove programs" in your windows control panel select mysearchdial and remove it.
    2) Open your Firefox browser then click the Firefox tab at the top left and select options. You will need to change the start page settings back to your preferred start page.
    3) Again under the Firefox tab select "add-ons". In the add-ons manager you will need to remove mysearchdial from both "plugins" and "extensions"
    4) In your search bar (top right of address bar" use the drop down menu and select "manage search engines". You can restore your preferred search engine and remove mysearchdial from the menu.
    This should remove all the components of the nuisance hijacker and restore your browser back to your preferred settings. If you are comfortable with a more in depth removal I would also suggest going to your "programs" folder within the "C" drive of your machine and deleting the "MySearchDial" folder altogether. However, only do this AFTER you have uninstalled it from your system and if you are familiar with this type of removal.

    FF20.0.1 Installed 4/11/2013 and immediately started getting results as stated. Tried to play a you tube video while in Facebook and no sound.. after several restarts, I discovered that it does not mater what I open as soon as the second tab opens, the speakers stop.

    Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. In the settings Adobe Bridge - in "open RAW-files by double-clicking in Adobe Camera Raw» box is checked. When you try any changes in the settings Adobe Bridge system displays a message:
    Bridge's parent application is not active. Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.
    The entire line of Adobe products on my computer updated to the latest updates. Previously, a family of products Adobe Photoshop on your computer is not set. Computer - PC, Windows 7 Enterprises.

    When you open Edit, there are two choices: Web form and annotated.
    What is the difference?
    Then, there are fields for Host, Submit Prefix, Username, Password, etc.
    How do you fill in these fields?
    When you click to have the manager "Guess from Current Page," all fields don't necessarily get filled in, so is it just for username and password?
    I use the edit feature constantly, so it's a little odd not to see more detailed instructions here.
    When I click on Tools, the Saved Password Dialog is on the list, so it's on my toolbar all the time.
    I use it constantly.
    What is the latest in password security? I know there are competing ideas. What does Mozilla think?

    Hmm, could this be a feature of your extension, "Saved Password Editor"? The support article ([[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]) doesn't show those changes when I switch the version from 29 to 30 in the left column.

    Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
    A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
    A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

    Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work
