  • Need help with Firefox constantly crashing. Here is one of my crash reports 9df1066e-d25d-44fa-b05f-7d22e2110713. They all have this signature "_de_casteljau."

Firefox constantly crashing no matter what site I go to. Here are my crash reports - you can see the times and dates are pretty frequent.
Only 1 module doesn't have a version number, but doing google search there are ton of results for this file.
Google searched, checked for updates for firefox, add-ons, java, and flash..i've added these add-ons AdBlock, IE Tab, Webmail, and a theme(LavaFox V1 1.3.3).
    Ran virus scans and nothing.

The crashes seem to be related to garbage collection (i.e. cleanup 'unused' memory, but in this case the memory may still be in use) and such crashes are hard to diagnose.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

  • Firefox constantly crashes when it opens and when tabs are changed.

Ever since 4/19 of this year, Firefox has been randomly crashing when I open it, and after restarting it will crash randomly during sessions, generally when switching tabs I've noticed (though not always).

Here is a screenshot of all the crashes since this started a week ago:

    Any help would be appreciated.

One of the bug reports linked to your crashes says the HTTPS Everywhere extension could be a contributing factor. Would you try disabling it for 48 hours and see whether that makes any difference?
You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions.
Some of these crashes are related to the "Just in Time" (JIT) JavaScript compiler(s). You could try disabling some of those features to see whether that helps. Alternately, you could run Firefox in its Safe Mode for a period of time since that disables them automatically (but in that case, extensions also are disabled).
    ''To disable individual preferences:''
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''javas''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the following preferences to switch them to "false":
    * javascript.options.baselinejit.chrome (Firefox UI)
    * javascript.options.baselinejit.content (page content)
    * javascript.options.ion.content (page content)
There might be other relevant items but we're a little out of my depth here.
''If you prefer to test using Firefox's Safe Mode:''
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still run)''
In the small dialog that should appear after Firefox exits, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

  • Firefox Constantly Crashes

My Firefox (Aurora) Updated To The Most Recent version Constantly Keeps Crashing! I have Gone Through All Of The Forums And Tried All of The Suggestions Of Turning The Hardware Acceleration Off And Starting it In Safe Mode, Updating Graphics drivers, Clearing The Cache, And The Profiles, But It Constantly Crashes, Sometimes Straight Away Form When I Load It, And Most of The Time Flash Crashes Along With it, (I've Reinstalled And Checked That And It Seems To be Fine, But No Cigar) It Also Crashes On The Stable Firefox And The Firefox Beta.

  • Firefox constantly crashes and sends error reports

    Hello,
I've installed the latest version of firefox on my new computer (which uses Windows 8) but it constantly crashes and sends error reports. Often when I send the error report and restart firefox, it just crashes again before the pages can even restore. I've reset firefox but this hasn't sorted the problem. I even tried completely uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it but this hasn't helped either. I've tried running it with no addons too but this hasn't helped either!
I'd be really grateful if someone could help me. Thanks in advance.

If you installed Firefox 19, it has a known issue with certain graphics cards on Windows 8. Try installing Firefox 18.0.2 over your existing installation (no need to uninstall Firefox 19 first).
    http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/18.0.2/win32/en-US/

  • Crash report JSObject::defaultValue(JSContext*, JSType, int*) firefox keeps crashing randomly

firefox is crashing all of the time and randomly, not particularly when loading shutting down or certain web sites just random

    Hi
I looked too quickly at the crash report. Usually the appearance of cookie references in the crash thread point to that area as being problematic. This is the first time I've seen a thread lined up this way. Wonder if this is something new with Safari 4?
To elaborate a bit more with Bee's helpful suggestions:
SIMBL is not a problem, per se, however PithHelmet is not Safari 4 compatible. To remove it, go to your Finder: HD>Library>Applications Support>SIMBL>Plugins folder. There, move PithHelmet to the trash.
DuctTape is a framework installed as part of SIMBL.
Go to HD>Library>Frameworks and move it to the trash
SIMBL - HD>Library>InputManagers - move SIMBL to the trash, as there is no need for it.
Restart Safari. If the above Plugins were the problem source, Safari ought to be stable.
Next, as Bee mentioned, Flash is outdated:
    First, uninstall Flash.
Next, install the latest version from here.
After the install, go to your Applications>Utilities folder and open Disk Utility. When opened, highlight your HD, then in the First-Aid panel "repair permissions".
    Restart Safari

  • Firefox keeps crashing randomly. I've tried refreshing, reinstalling, and clearing redundant plugins. Help please...

    Hi,
My Firefox keeps crashing, seemingly randomly. It could be when I open a new page, or when just reading through a page of text.
I've tried starting in safe mode, doing multiple refreshes, reinstalling Firefox, and disabling redundant plugins like multiple shockwave.
Any help would be appreciated. I love Firefox, but this has been making it extremely frustrating to use.

hi Josh, that looks like a crash triggered by your nvidia graphics driver in relation to hardware acceleration in firefox - please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating the graphics driver]] for your model on the nvidia website, or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

  • Firefox constantly crashing to desktop or freezing when on YouTube

So every day, multiple times Firefox Nightly either crashes to the crash report, stops responding, or on rare occasions freezes my whole computer causing me to restart. The thing is, this only seems to happen when im on YouTube. Also, while on YouTube, videos that are in full screen mode sometimes freeze and when i try to exit out full screen mode the Firefox window goes black but i can still do stuff like pause and play, i just cant see.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
#Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. (Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the ID's. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)

  • Firefox constantly crashes on my htc droid incredible

i have an HTC Droid Incredible and have been using firefox for a while. all of a sudden, when i try to use firefox on my phone, it opens for a few seconds then the screen turns white then takes me to a page that says FireFox has crashed and allows me to restart or close the program. Regardless of closing or restarting, the it always crashes. I've unistalled and reinstalled FireFox to see if that would fix it but it doesn't. My other internet browser works fine. Does anyone have any advise on how to fix this?

    Have you rebooted the phone?

  • Firefox is crashing randomly and frequently, no matter what page I'm viewing.

My firefox has been crashing daily, and not just once or twice but constantly. It happens most when I'm on ebay.com, facebook.com, or myspace.com. But it is not limited to those three pages. I thought it might have to do with the Adobe problem, but I've updated my flash player (a few different times) and I'm still getting numerous crashes. I've even tried removing Adobe completely and reinstalling from scratch. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with this "www.wq32.com"... Occasionally when attempting to connect to a site, this URL takes over and redirects me. I'm sure it is some sort of spyware or virus but I haven't been able to pinpoint it, and none of my antivirus programs have detected any issues. I've even wiped the entire hard drive out and reinstalled Windows, still can't get rid of either problem. None of these issues occur in IE, only firefox. I refuse to switch though, I've been a die-hard firefox user for probably as long as it's been public. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, still getting crazy random crashes. I just got a notification for Java's update. Going to install now and hope and pray that it fixes it.

  • Firefox 14 crashes randomly

    Crash Report:
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-a97ab4a4-13be-4041-af12-12da02120711
Firefox 14 keeps crashing on random sites, even on the Firefox help pages:
    http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help
Tried in safe mode with add-ons turned off and still crashes. Updated flash player and adobe reader and all add-ons up to date too.
Any have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks in advance for any help given.

From the reports I can now access, it appears FlashPlayer is involved in at least some of your crashes. I suggest
    # as an initial troubleshooting step you create a new profile by using the Reset feature
    # ensure FlashPlayer is not enabled
    # try browsing and if you get any crashes please again paste a couple of the CrashIDs/Links into your next message.
If your problems are solved when FlashPlayer is put out of use my suggestion for a temporary workaround, until developers come up with a more permanent fix is to uninstall Flash 11.3 using the Adobe uninstaller, and reinstall the secure but older Flash 10.3 or the less secure Flash 11.2 by <u> '''following the detailed instructions from'''
    * '''[[flash 11.3 crashes]]'''</u>

** the information is subject to revision and change, revisit the link for any updates
** the Adobe unintaller may uninstall more than is expected, you may need to check Windows & IE may need further installs after this.

  • Firefox constantly crashing...

    Hi,
I've been using Firefox for man years, on all my devices.
But since yesterday, on my main PC, Firefox crashes constantly.
It appears to be random, on various sites, at various times (ie 10 seconds after restarting, or 10 minutes after restarting).
    I have tried:
    - Resetting Firefox.
    - Reinstalling Firefox.
    - Disabling/re-enabling extensions or plugins (though I don't believe I updates any since yesterday when the crashing started).
It's really annoying, and I've had to use Chrome (gulp) today. :-(

That is a problem with Trusteer Rapport
    *http://www.trusteer.com/support/rapport-installation-links
    *http://www.trusteer.com/support/en/report-problem
Try to update or uninstall and reinstall Trusteer Rapport and if that doesn't help then disable/stop the program for now.
Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport

  • Firefox constantly crashes even with almost all extentions disabled.

For months now Firefox has been crashing regularly. This seems to happen most when I am on pages like Google Images or Google Maps. Each time this happens I get the screen to restart Firefox and submit a crash report. After that process the "this is embarrassing" screen comes up but the tabs listed are old, sometimes by several days. I have disabled nearly every extension / plug-in. I am tired of having to babysit this program. It is a browser and I am just trying to browse the internet. I am not a user with a ton of extensions or other add-ins to Firefox. I use it almost "out of the box". I have had to reset Firefox in the past and I have had times where I have lost all of my open tabs. I am just about to the point of dumping Firefox for a browser which actually works. Firefox has become a very frustrating program to use. It is a browser. The user should not have to bend over backwards to keep it working.
I use Windows Vista Ultimate. I am submitting this from a different computer since Firefox just opens for a minute then crashes over and over and over again.

We need to see your crash reports from your other computer where Firefox is having the issue.
I don't know what OS the other computer is running but I'll put instructions for both Mac and Windows.
    <b>Windows</b>
Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
    <b>Mac</b>
#'''(OS X 10.6 or previous)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. Your home folder will be selected. In the right side of the window, click the Library folder to open it. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.<br>'''(OS X 10.7 or above)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the '''Go''' menu, hold down the '''option''' or '''alt''' key and select '''Library'''. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
#Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
