Hello VNQ Software, please check if you have the same behavior in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode firefox safe mode].
also, you have in your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Windows profile folder] a [http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file User.js] file. The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create and write in the file also).
and, in order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.

  • Firefox crashes on Windows 7 when printing to a Windows 7 network printer.

On Windows 7 running Firefox 3.6.10, I cannot print to a Windows 7 network printer. Firefox crashes every time as soon as I hit print.
However, the situation is very specific. I can print from Windows XP using Firefox 3.6.10 to a Windows 7 network printer. I can also print from Windows 7 using Firefox 3.6.10 to a Windows XP network printer. The only situation that doesn't work is using Firefox and printing from Windows 7 machine to Windows 7 machine.
Firefox is also the only program that does not print. I can print using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, MS Word, MS Excel, and every other application just fine. Firefox is exclusive in that it is the only program that crashes and refuses to print. The drivers that are being used a PostScript drivers.
I have tried multiple versions of Firefox from older ones to the Firefox 4 beta and the program crashes every time.
Again, the only time it crashes is printing from a Windows 7 client computer to a Windows 7 network printer. Printing from XP to Windows 7 and from Windows 7 to XP works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The only program I've noticed the problem with is Firefox, so I'm assuming it's a problem at the application level.

Looks like a Windows problem, but not restricted to Win7 or 3.6.10 - there's one on Vista SP2 with Firefox 3.6 and another with 4.0b6 on Win7.

  • Firefox crashes under windows 7 on startup on only ONE account

In Windows 7. Firefox crashed in use and now crashes on restart, every time. But only on the account I was in when it crashed.
Please be clear on that --- IT WORKS IN OTHER ACCOUNTS ON THIS MACHINE. That rules out many of the suggestions I've seen for problems. It won't be a hardware problem or a driver problem if the other accounts are using the same hardware and the same drivers, and so on.
It won't start in Firefox's safe mode (hold down shift while clicking on icon -- it crashes).
I have since updated Firefox to version 23.0. Still works on other accounts, but not on this one.
I have tried disabling addons in the other accounts, and resetting them, but resetting won't affect this account.
I've run both Malwarebytes (finds nothing; in fact I run it regularly) and SuperAntiSpyware (found only tracking cookies, all of which I deleted).
Looking for crash reports, there's no actual crash IDs (nothing with 'bp-' on it), even in the one called "LastCrash" which has today's date on it.
In C:\Users\Glen\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports, the last 5 files with numbers in contain:
1376192937 - in the LastCrash file
1376188049 - earlier with todays date
1373320611 - from more than a month back
    1369950890 - from months ago
    1366156437
but just nothing with bp- in it
[Please note that any suggestion that needs me to start or be running Firefox doesn't work if I can't start Firefox. In searching for information I don't know how many times I've encountered instructions that tell me to do things which assume Firefox is running. So for example the section here for "Troubleshooting information" that assumes Firefox is running is pointless when Firefox won't start.
I have instead gone to another account (an Admin account) and manually grabbed troubleshooting information from there to put in -- so keep in mind that anything that relates specifically to this specific user account where I can't start Firefox from won't be there.

Did you check if the links to those crash reports work?
Are there any crash reports in the pending folder?
Create a new profile as a test to check if the current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":

  • When will Firefox offer a 64-bit version ? I use my 32-bit Firefox, but keep my 64-bit Waterfox and Pale Moon ready, when Firefox crashes on Windows 8.

I am a Firefox Veteran. Been around since the NCSA web browser days and used the first Firefox web browsers. I have never liked or trusted Microsoft Windows, so I've never used Internet Explorer. I had tweaked Windoze Blue Screen Of Death software from the Windows 3.0 days and did minor maintenance on the "Pizza Boxes" to keep them alive until I or my duty station could afford a newer one. Firefox has always performed for me working for "Uncle Sam" or at home. I keep Firefox and the versions: Sea Monkey, Aurora, Nightly on my laptop because I like Firefox and I like to switch from one browser to the other sometimes -- plus, in a Windows crash, I have a backup browser. Windows always "Crashes"; somethings never change. My 32-bit Firefox doesn't seem as reliable on my 64-bit 'Windoze' 8 as it was on Windows 7. My hope is that some of the Firefox Gurus have a 64-bit Firefox up on blocks in the shed out back ready to rock and roll or at least release as experimental to be played with and tested. Thanks guys -- Keep up the good work. Sam

Someday. This is a question asked multiple times but the answer is always the same, there is no real benefit to moving to 64 bit Firefox, and the amount of work required to do something with no benefit makes this a low priority. Eventually it will happen, but just because it uses 64bit doesn't magically make things better.

  • Firefox crashes on windows 7 when accessing flash websites

    Hi.
When I use fire-fox, it keeps on freezing when i'm accessing any websites that use flash. Googling this problem wouldn't solve it. I have updated firefox to the latest / adobe but it wouldn't solve the problem. If I use another firefox based product like Palemon or Sea monkey, same issue occurs. Other browsers like Chrome crashes when I start it, opera crashes too much and IE is crap and slow and doesn't support much, so firefox is the only solution.
I tried firefox on my friends laptop (mac) as it worked fine.
It is definitely a windows 7 issue.
    It is associated with plugin-container.exe.
No crash logs or any bug reporters were appearing.
I also tried reverting to the prev version (both flash and firefox) but didn't help. This is very strange. Any help please?

I have begun having this problems on both of my machines. One is running Vista and the other Windows 7 home premium. Both are fully up-to-date. When a page contains flash content, Firefox's memory usage continuously increases to the point that FF crashes.
The problem started after I selectively blocked images and objects via Tools>Page Info>Media on a page that I was on. Firefox has become totally unusable if I have Flashplayer enabled and a page contains Flash content. I have disabled Flash in Firefox, but have to use Chrome to access sites where I must have Flashplayer enabled.
Hopefully this will be corrected quickly.

  • Firefox crashes after windows update of Adobe REader XI (11.0.02)

I applied a windows 7 update some days ago and until now I haven't really used Firefox much. But now I started it up and it gave me a crash report.
What to do? I tried re-installing it 2 times. Once with removing data and once with not removing data.
I tried your beta version of Firefox. No luck.
With the latest update of Windows this issue got fixed!

  • Firefox crashes on Windows 8

I'll be doing common things (Facebook and youtube recently) and firefox will randomly crash every ~15 minutes more or less. I have had this computer and windows 8 for about two months and have had no problems prior to this, Internet Explorer still works fine and I am running Firefox 19, all of my plugins are up to date and it even crashes in safe mode.
Here are the latest crash reports:

I am also having this problem, but it is unclear to me HOW to install an older version of Firefox ("older" in this case meaning back to December, 2012). The link goes to another link that goes to a page full of files, etc. I am about to go to Google Chrome but don't want to. Thanks in advance.

  • I'm getting popup notices that Firefox has a problem, and Windows is looking for a solution; then it closes Firefox and says Windows will let me know if it finds a solution. No crash report window comes up.

Firefox is my default browser on my new laptop, with OS Windows 7. I've now had several instances where a Windows popup comes up saying Firefox has developed a problem and may have to close. It also indicates Windows "is looking for a solution to the problem." No solution is found, however, and Firefox is forced to close, with the happy notice that Windows will let me know if it finds a solution to the problem. If there is any tech data on the crash, I'm not sure where to find it, and no Firefox crash report window comes up. I thought it was an anomaly the first time, but this has now occurred at least 4 times in the past several days.

  • Firefox freezes trying to download or save files, Import/Export bookmarks, clicking (Tools) Options (was: Fire Fox crashes in Windows safe mode and in Firefox Safe mode)

    Hi
    XP sp3 4gb ram
    Firefox 6.0.2
Firefox crashes every time I do any of the following. Then I have to force quit Fire fox.
If i click a download link on a web page, Firefox freezes the instant I click the link
...but Firefox does not freeze if I click a web link on a web page or page navigation link.
If i go to the Menu bar > Tools > Options, Firefox freezes the instant I select Options from the Tools menu.
...but Firefox does not freeze if select any other item from the Tools menu.
If I go to the Menu bar > File, Firefox instantly freezes the instant I select either "Save Page as..." or "Open file..."
...but Firefox does not freeze if I select any other option from the File menu such as: New Tab, New Window, Send Link, page Setup, Print, Exit etc
If I go the Menu Bar > Bookmarks > Show all Bookmarks > Import and Backup, Firefox instantly freezes the second I select "Import" or "Export"
... but Firefox does not freeze if I select any other command in the Bookmarks sub menus, nor does it freeze if I back out of the menu entirely.
Same as above for History if I select "Import" or "Export"
...so I have isolated the problem to a limited number of commands in Firefox that cause Firefox to freeze... described above. Everything else in Firefox works fine.
HERE IS A SUMMARY OF WHAT CAUSES THE FREEZING:
    • Clicking a download link on a webpage
    • Going to the Menu Bar > File and selecting "save as" or "Open File"
    • Going to the Menu bar > Tools and selecting Options.
    • Going to Bookmarks > Show all Bookmarks > Import and Backup and selecting either "Import" or "Export"
    • Same as above for History if I select "Import" or "Export"
Everything else in Firefox works fine. I went through every menu command and checked for freezes. Only the commands I mentioned above cause the freezing.
I tried the following to try to fix it:
    • Reset my modem and router (Problem still exists)
    • Uninstalled FF. Deleted folders, profiles (Downloads.sqlite), Registry entries. Reinstalled. (Problem still exists)
    • Restarted FF in Firefox safe mode. (Problem still exists)
    • Restarted in Windows Safe mode and then started FF in Firefox safe mode (Problem still exists)
    • Disabled Window firewall. Disabled ZoneAlarm firewall, Shutdown ZoneAlarm firewall. Set Internel Options to default settings. (Problem still exists)
    • I reset the config option: browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone to false
    What does work?
    • Firefox does not crash when I click a link an go a website, navigate a page, use a menu item command.
    • Firefox works fine on my other computer.
    • Internet Explorer works fine on the computer that Firefox is having a problem on.
    • My other applications work fine on the computer that Firefox is having a problem on.
I want to add that, I just overcame the XP Recovery Virus by following a post that suggested running the following software to fix the virus. Everything seems back to normal except Firefox.
The software I ran to fix the problem are listed below:
    • malwarebytes
    • superantispyware
    • ccleaner
    • combofix.
    • smart defrag
    • then load a good anti-virus. (I ran Zone Alarm virus scan)

    Hi.
This is about a question you posted to the Firefox Support forum three months ago (I'm sorry you never got an answer).
Did you ever fix the problem where Firefox freezes or hangs, when clicking a download link or using (File menu) "save as" or "open file"? Or when going to the Firefox (Tools) menu and clicking Options ? Or trying to Import or Export bookmarks?
I found this thread searching for a solution for someone on MozillaZine's support forum who's having a similar issue. See this thread: (maybe something he's tried that didn't work for him will work for you?)

  • Firefox 6.0.2 crashes and Windows XP restarts the whole system

When I visit the 'YouTube' website, after a while Firefox crashes (Then I see for a very short moment a blue screen with text, but it dissapeared very quickly, so I couldn't read the text) and my complete windows XP system restarts. Then when I open Firefox again, instead of the usual starterpage, it opens on the YouTube-site where the crash happened. There is no so called 'crash-monitor' or other info that I know of. After apprx. 15 minutes the whole thing happened again. Please help!! Thanks, Wolter.

Yes, this is ridiculous. I'd switch to Chrome for good if Chrome wasn't so lame.
Please Firefox, don't turn into IE.

From your crash report, most of them have an OOM ( (NS_ABORT_OOM)) signature attached somewhere in it which means Firefox ran out of memory and crashed. The only exception is the report that has a signature of [https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/3fdf2f42-026e-40f8-8c61-de6342140523 mozilla::WebGLTexture::DoDeferredImageInitialization(unsigned int, int)] Firefox crashes because it's out of memory seems odd because your System Memory Use Percentage doesn't seem to hit the high 90's like normal reports and hovers around 50-78%. Usually the percentage of RAM Firefox uses before it crashes is around 90-96%. Each case is different though. See the below article for some quick fixes for this.

  • Firefox crashes when closing open windows

    Hi
Since updating to the new Firefox 18.0.1 every time I try to close a few open windows Firefox crashes. I would be reading my mail and after having about 10 open windows I go and check on the X to close the windows. I can close about five to seven of them with no problem but when I have about three of them left Firefox crashes. It is very annoying. I used the Firefox Safe Mode feature and this problem does not happen while in Safe Mode. I don't know what the next step is to fix this problem. Could you please help. Thank you
