Firefox crash reporter.
When I start up the firefox window, it comes up, but shuts down immediately leaving a crash reporter. I can't even click the orange "firefox" button and go in safe mode neither.
Thanks for reading my question.
That's not a crash from Hardware Acceleration. do you have Websense Endpoint on your machine? Please contact websense to update their software to stop this crash.

I ran into a glitch on my system that I tried to fix myself. My NOD32 was always showing the yellow warning circle as my protection status when I started my computer. I tried to fix this every way I new how.
Then I started to get pop ups asking me to fix and then send system error reports to Windows. Some stating they were '''''critical.''''' So I sent NOD32 the e-mail below.
'''Me:''' I cannot seem to run a complete system scan. I keep getting stuck at 56% at the following point. C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\
Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\Pending
I also keep getting messages to send error reports to Microsoft constantly. I also have this code C:\pagefile.sys-error opening
Thank you for your assistance.
'''Their solution:'''
Based on the information you provided, we recommend that you upgrade to latest version of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and see if this makes a difference.
Please click or copy/paste the following ESET Knowledgebase article into your web browser for step-by-step instructions:
'''Me''' : I did as they requested and am fully upgraded and licensed with their new edition.
Ran a new scan same problem.
I sent them a new e-mail but now wonder if it is a Firefox issue as, C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\
''Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\Pending'' this is where the scan stalls.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.Try delete the files in Pending folder and make the scan again, do not be afraid to delete the files see : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/679996
thank you

Why does my Firefox crash reporter hang?
Please help as Firefox is my preferred browser followed by Opera and Chrome in that order
Frequent Firefox crashes are disruptive of my workflow which is very web-dependent
STEPWISE:
1. I have frequent crashes
2. The Crash Reporter comes up
3. Submit report is enabled
4. I select QUIT or RESTART - a rotating symbol shows the reporter is trying to do something BUT NOTHING HAPPENS
5. I close the Reporter window
6. I try to run Firefox again: That brings up the reporter panel again.
7. THE ONLY WAY I CAN OPEN FIREFOX AGAIN IS TO REBOOT MY COMPUTER.
8. I switch to OPERA browser to access Mozilla support
9. I follow instructioins:
If you can't open Firefox because it crashes at startup even in Safe Mode:
Go to ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/submitted.
10. That brings up a long list of "Reports submitted" all with the following format and all sized 50B containing ZERO INFORMATION
bp-06def14b-da8b-450e-8157-7ae252141029.txt plain text document 50 B 29/10/2014 21:33:34
11. Before posting this question I tried to "Automatically add" troubleshooting information - which only brought up the dysfunctioning trouble shooter again!
12. The link to "try these manual steps" brought up a fresh "Ask a Question" window - presumably because it attempted to open in Firefox instead of OPERA which I'm using to log this this report since I'll have to reboot before being able to use Firefox again.
SYSTEM INFO:
OS: Ubuntu 14.04 - fully updated
Mozilla Firefox 33.0 (Info via Terminal since Firefox is stalled)
Plugins: Zotero, AdBlock Plus, Print edit, Download Helper (from memory since FF is stalled)
I use Thunderbird 31.2.0 for email - Firefox DOES NOT bring Thunderbird down with it when both are running
BUT Thunderbird also crashes unexpectedly but not nearly as often as FirefoxIs it possible to start Firefox in Safe Mode, I do understand that the frequent crashes are disrupting and after a crash that Firefox will not open, you need to restart the computer.
In about:config are there any changed about:config entries related to the crash report: browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash
However in the meantime I will see what I can find. -
Firefox crashed, when I tried to restart firefox the crash reporter dialogue box opens. Only 2 choices are offered, restart firefox and quit firefox. Neither option will work. I cannot quit firefox and when I opt to restart firefox the only thing I get is another dialogue box opening.

Firefox Crash Report LOOP - can't get out and can't launch Firefox
Hi. I'm new here. My general sysinfo is at the end of this email.
I have a Firefox problem. I've actually already read all the solutions I could find so far, on another tech site, that seem to be related to my particular problem and tried them all, but I'm still having a glitch of some kind. So, forgive me if I am a bit long-winded here, and I'll try to "nutshell" down what I've done, but would like all I've experienced and tried to at least be in one starting place. Hope you will stick with me, as I've tried a lot of stuff.
I was in the middle of reading an email when Firefox just closed itself. I've never had that happen before, ever.I tried to reopen and got the Crash Report dialog.
I tried rebooting and relaunching FFox, but still got the Crash Report dialog, so I went onto the net via IE and looked it up. Bsed on what I found, I thought, okay, I'll try reinstalling -- I had previously tried the beta for FFox's newest version and didn't like it, and when I uninstalled it, had lost my install files for 3.6.16 as well, so downloaded that again and tried to reinstall over the old. No go.
Tried to uninstall, then, using the built-in FFox uninstaller, followed by Total Uninstall as a backup effort (Total Uninstall has always been a good program in past). Total Uninstall froze in the middle of its progress bar, no matter how many times I tried it.
I decided to try a System Restore. That did not change anything. Although I got no longer got a Crash Report dialogue, FFox still would not launch.
Since I'd done a Restore, I decided to try to install once more. The install wouldn't proceed, and I got a message that an Uninstall was still in progress and that I needed to reboot. So I did.
After the reboot, I tried the reinstall again -- and got the same message. Tried it twice more, but I was in a loop.
Went back to the tech site I'd found and read about how to "uninstall Firefox completely" and went through those steps, then rebooted once more.
Tried to reinstall again, and this time the reinstall performed all the way through -- but when I tried to launch FFox, I got the crash report again -- so was back to Square One with no clue what to do.
I posted a question re this (basically the same thing I'm writing here, without this latest bit) on the tech site, and received some advice. First part of the advice was to do what I'd already done. Second part mentioned a couple more files to remove so as to completely uninstall FFox (including PreFetch, which I'd never heard of) and suggested I download 3.6.9 (I'd last tried 3.6.16) as it was known to be stable.
I did all these things, rebooted and installed --as far as I could tell -- 3.6.9. But at launch, I still get a Crash Report.
I even thought perhaps the problem involved profiles, although I have moved mine out of the line of fire and am saving it for when I get FFox running again -- please, soon! -- but anyway, I did try to run Profile Manager, and it won't run either.
Again, am back at square one without a clue of any kind how to proceed. I have no idea why FFox closed, either, as I haven't done anything unusual, and even confirmed that when I tried to do a Restore. Almost nothing was going to be affected. (But it didn't help anyway.)
Thanks, anyone who has read this whole message. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Getting firefox crash report confirmation emails but there not being sent by me!
i think someone is submitting crash reports to mozilla using my email address cause i keep getting these emails.
Subject: Thanks for sending us info about your Firefox crash
Date: Thu, 25 Jul 2013 11:25:35 -0600
From: Mozilla <[email protected]>

Your Firefox crashed.
We're so sorry.
Dear Firefox user,
Recently, your Firefox crashed and we're really sorry about that. We'll use the crash report and comments that you sent to try to make sure it doesn't happen again. Until then, here are a couple of things you can do to prevent further crashes:
1. If you're not already using the latest version of Firefox, please download and install it now from mozilla.org.
2. Please check out this support article, which explains how to troubleshoot the cause of a crash and how to get help fixing it.
Thanks, Mozilla Firefox
P.S. This message was sent by one of our friendly Mozilla email bots. Please don't try to reply — they're terrible at receiving email. Instead, you can give feedback directly to our Firefox developers (real people) at our Input site.

The email appears 100% legit however i only use firefox as a backup browser and dont use it more than 2-3 times a month i just did a check on my firefo to see if it ever crashed without me remembering and it says this.
"Submitted Crash Reports
No crash reports have been submitted."
How do i resolve someone else using my email add whe nthere submiting crash reports?
Thanks. Can you use the original email address where the crash reports are supposed to be sent to report the abuse?
My point was that if you had access to the original messages claiming to come from you, you could do something about it by sending copies to an anti-spam or anti-abuse organization. If someone sends messages to someone else claiming to come from you, you do not have access to those messages. -
What kind of "Personal Information" is sent in a Mozilla Firefox Crash Report?
In the Mozilla Browser Privacy Notices it says that "Personal Information" may be collected in a crash report. What kind of information is this? Also, if I submit the URL of the website I was on when Firefox crashed, where can I see this URL? It doesn't appear to be in any of the Crash Reports I've seen so far..

So unless I provide an e-mail address, or I'm logged into my webmail, and this webmail-site (or Facebook, twitter, etc) is sent to Mozilla, no personal information is sent? For example if I visit bbc.co.uk, no personal information is sent?</blockquote>
exactly, and even if you're logged into any account this doesn't mean that personal information is transmitted - this might only be the case when the URL contains any clues about this, like: www.example.com/?inbox=[email protected]
<blockquote>And it is not possible for me either to see the visited URLs from my crash report?</blockquote>
no, this is not possible
<blockquote>Also, is the "send the URL of the visited page" checked by default? Or do I have to opt-in to send the URL in the crash report?
</blockquote>
currently the send URL box is opt-in and not checked by default on Firefox & Firefox for Android. On Firefox OS it is opt-out...
</blockquote>
Sorry for all the questions. But I have two other questions as well, I hope you could help me with those too, it's very kind of you:)
I was wandering if there is a "Unique Device ID" or something similar, that makes it possible to know that it's the same computer/browser that sends different error reports? For example if I send one error report one day, and then three days after send another error-report, would it be possible to know that this is the same computer? And the second question: if you have multiple tabs open in the browser, and you send an error-report with the URL of the visited site as well, would the URLs of all these sites be sent as well? Or just the tab I was on when the error-report was sent? I'm sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate your help!:) -

This is my parent's computer. Here are the facts: After using facebook the previous evening, the next time the computer was used all of the desktop displayed symbols instead of letters/words. Upon trying to open Firefox a window labeled Firefox crash report opened. No matter what options you choose (send report, don't send, etc) when you click on an option, another Firefox crash report window opens. So I can't open Firefox. Simple solution would be to uninstall Firefox and reinstall it; however, it is very hard to navigate the computer with no words and all symbols. I am able to open up Internet Explorer, but anything in the address bar or search bar also appears as symbols. If I were to type in a specific site in the address bar, the site will load properly in words but the address bar still shows symbols. After much playing around, I was able to update Avast antivirus and run a full scan and nothing was found. I updated Malware Bytes and ran in for an hour but it never fully finished running before I had to leave. Please help.
Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Try to toggle some Boolean gfx.font_rendering prefs on the about:config page to disable some features.
Filter: gfx
Some to try:
* set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true to disable Direct2D
* set gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading to false.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu. -
Firefox does not start up after an automatic update. Every time i try to open it, it just prompts the Mozilla Crash Reporter.

Same thing happens when i click restart.
No difference when i run it in Safe mode. And it won't let me create a new profile either. Is there anyway else i can extract my bookmarks? This is driving me crazy!Did the crash reporter send any crash reports?<br />
You can see the crash reports in this folder:
"C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports"
See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad
See also [[Firefox crashes when you open it]]
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br /><br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]<br /><br />
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"<br /><br />
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br /><br />
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox<br /><br />
If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Firefox is my default browser on my new laptop, with OS Windows 7. I've now had several instances where a Windows popup comes up saying Firefox has developed a problem and may have to close. It also indicates Windows "is looking for a solution to the problem." No solution is found, however, and Firefox is forced to close, with the happy notice that Windows will let me know if it finds a solution to the problem. If there is any tech data on the crash, I'm not sure where to find it, and no Firefox crash report window comes up. I thought it was an anomaly the first time, but this has now occurred at least 4 times in the past several days.

Firefox does not send a crash report.
Mac OS 10.6.3 Firefox 3.6.7
Firefox does not send an error report after it crashes. It crashes consistently when accessing certain pages when Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53 10.1.53.64 is enabled, but never sends a crash report.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I noticed the problem in early July 2010 after upgrading Shockwave.More information:
Firefox produces a crash file, but does not send it.
There are 19 July 2010 reports in /Users/me/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ including 5 from today.
A plist file was created or modified at the same time that the as the last crash report. It contains OS and Firefox versions.
The directory /Users/tvd/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Crash Reports/pending is empty. The permission are 700. I am the owner.
The last report submitted was Mar 4, 2010:
tail -1 /Users/me/Library/Application\ Support/Firefox/Crash\ Reports/submit.log
