We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!

  • Firefox crashes seconds after I open it.

Firefox incessantly crashes before it has been open for ten seconds - even when I open in Safe Mode. I have removed and reinstalled the newest version of Firefox, however, no progress has been seen.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
    See:

  • IPhoto 9.5.1 crashes immediately after it opens.  what can i do?

The new program 9.5.1 was automatically installed... but it crashes as soon as it opens.

    Hi,
I will literally owe you anything you want if you can solve this problem for me!!!
I have rebuilt the library with iphoto library manager. This got me back working once and never again.
    I uninstaled and reinstalled iphoto.
I've tried using iphoto's repair and rebuild oprions when you hold command and alt at open,, but to no avail.
My iphoto just keeps crashing at launch. I'll post some of the crash log at the end of this comment.
I have literally tried everything and I have the first 3 and a half years of my little girls life tied up now in iphoto with no way of accessing it. The iphoto library is 65gb would this be causing the crash? I used to be apples no 1 fan but haveing spent 5 hours trying to fix this I'm starting to feel a hatred towards them!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks
    Mark

Kern Portection Failure is usually related to data.   Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Firefox crashed and after restarting, tabs i had open were gone and weren't in the history either. It didn't give me the option of restoring, how do i get them back?

Sorry , you probably can not get them back.
You may have bookmarked them, or have them as part of the History previously stored and still searchable, but unfortunately otherwise you are unlikely to get them back. Firefox does to a certain extent back up bookmarks automatically but not the history.

  • Firefox crashes every time I open it. Before it crashes, it offers me updates to 2 applications which I deleted when they caused me trouble before - one for FM radio, and another for music (can't remember the exact names)

I am having trouble replicating the problem - Firefox has stopped offering me the updates, and now crashes about 30 seconds after I open it. I can uninstall and reinstall, but I've done that before, and somehow the updates still find me. When I choose to report the crash, the report is apparently going to Apple, not Mozilla.

    I had the same problem:

  • Photoshop CS5 closing seconds after program opens

My CS5 keeps closing seconds after I open it. I don't even have to try and open a file. It just closes down. No warning, no errors, nothing!
It was working fine two days ago. I'd rather not be forced to uninstall as I've got effect plugins that I use and that have custom settings.
I don't know if I somehow inadvertently shut off a service that it needs to run or what, but any help would be appreciated.

    I'm running XP.
As it seems the problem is the fact that CS5ServiceManger.exe is not starting up with photoshop.
I learned early on with the program that if I tried to close CS5ServiceManger, photoshop would follow and close without warning.
So when I tried to open it today I brought up taskmanager and CS5ServiceManger never showed up.
This is strange as I had the program working the day before yesterday completely fine.

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

Could you start Firefox in its Safe Mode and disable Firefox's use of hardware acceleration of graphics. This works around incompatibilities with various graphics card drivers.
To start Firefox in its Safe Mode, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox.
In the small dialog that should appear, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Hardware acceleration is automatically deactivated in Safe Mode. To turn it off in normal mode, open:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
When you restart Firefox normally, that should take effect. Any improvement?

  • Music app quits a few seconds after I open it

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with the default Music app -- it quits about four seconds after I open it. During those four seconds, I can scroll through the list of artists whose songs I have, but if I try to select an artist or change to a different list (Playlists, Songs, etc.), the Music app will close immediately.
All of my other default and downloaded apps work perfectly.
I've tried doing the force restart, but that didn't help. Is there anything else I can try besides restoring my itouch to factory settings?
    Thanks for your help!

I have OS 3.1.3 and around 10 smart playlists. I used to turn off Live Updating when I'd sync my smart playlists, but when I updated to the latest OS, I left it on because I thought they had fixed it. >_<
I can't look at my smart playlists right now because iTunes isn't recognizing my iTouch at the moment -- the iTunes and Music app problems occurred at the same time, and I was hoping that fixing the Music app problem would also fix the iTunes problem.
... While I was writing this response, I used MediaMonkey to +sort of+ fix the problem. My iTouch was appearing in MediaMonkey with no songs; I added a song to my iTouch using MediaMonkey, and after that the Music app worked and iTunes recognized my iTouch. Yay!
However, I can't see most of my music library -- I only see the songs I had purchased on my iTouch. I suspect that the rest of my music is still floating around on my iTouch somewhere, though, because now I have a big chunk of memory taken up by (orange) Other data.
