Firefox Crashes at various times in various situations often repeatedly, especially when in Yahoo email account

Mostly the crashes are during opening or reading emails from trusted sources. Also occurs when reading or writing emails. Sometimes it occurs when opening or reading pages of different websites I would imagine are trusted. Sometimes it crashes almost as soon as I open Firefox-- whether I restore session or begin new session.
When I am on Internet explorer, I don’t have these problems.
Below are my

You need two independent set of cookies to achieve this and only an extension can do this.

You can get a second set temporarily by switching to Private Browsing mode and keep the current session open, but that still allows you to only one access one account at the time and you need to login again after reverting to the first account by stopping PB mode.

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

    * On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.

'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''

  • Problems with my yahoo email account using Firefox

I am using Firefox 14.0.1 and I have problems with my yahoo email account. I send an email, the receiver got a good version of my email, but when I see the same email into my sent box I see a differente text. When I use any other Internet browser, I can see a good version of my original email into the sent box.
    Why???

    Hi,
Please try a '''Ctrl + F5''' refresh. This helps to bring in the page contents afresh. You can also consider the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] feature via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''.
(To revert to the previous profile, close the new profile, start Firefox and choose the '''*.default''' profile. While the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Profile Manager] is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers)).

    [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Profiles?s=profile&r=2&e=sph&as=s Profiles Howto]
If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and related files in all the different configuration areas/modules of the security software. Instead create new allow/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes. Even otherwise the security software may also ask again when Firefox is started and you can try to allow/trust at that time. Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firewalls this].

  • I cannot logoff from yahoo email account in the Firefox Browser. I have installed another browser and can successfully logoff. Do you have a fix so I can continue using Firefox?

I have tried several times to reboot but when I logon to Firefox then to my Yahoo email account it will not let me logoff. I have installed a different web browser and my yahoo email account works fine including a successful logoff. Help!

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • I'm unable to access my yahoo email account using updated firefox browser, i keep getting error page when I use the mail link on yahoo pages

Since updating Firefox browser, i am unable to gain access to my yahoo email account. I can access the email with Interent Explorer with no trouble. Whenever I click on a mail link on the yahoo sites to check my mail, I get rerouted to an error page ..... "Sorry, we can't find "ca.mg4.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?.gx=1". Please check the spelling of the web address." is what is said at top of page whenever I click on any mail links.

This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
You will have to access  "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password.  instead of the yahoo account password.

  • Firefox Crashes all the time

I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled removed all the plug ins I also made sure that I deleted the programs folder and everything. I even uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash and it is still crashing all the time.

    Extensions
Problematic extensions may cause crashes. Start in Firefox Safe Mode and click "Continue in Safe Mode". This will help determine if an extension is causing the problem, since Safe Mode disables all extensions.
Note: If Firefox also crashes in Firefox Safe Mode, then an extension is not the problem and you should skip to the next section.
If Firefox no longer crashes when you run in Firefox Safe Mode, go to the Add-ons Manager Extensions list, click the Disable button for every extension, and restart Firefox normally. If the crashes no longer occur when you run Firefox in normal mode with all extensions disabled, one of your extensions was causing Firefox to crash. Try re-enabling them one at a time, to find the problem extension.
If disabling all extensions and restarting Firefox in normal mode doesn't resolve the crash problem:
In Firefox 4 and above, Firefox Safe Mode also disables hardware acceleration, so the problem could be a video device or driver issue (see below). Try unchecking the option to use hardware acceleration in Firefox ("Tools -> Options -> Advanced / General").
Firefox Safe Mode also disables the JavaScript JIT compiler. In Firefox 4 or above, try setting javascript.options.methodjit.* preferences to false in about:config ( see below).

  • Firefox crashes, sometimes several times every time I use it.

It SEEMS to be connected with Hotmail which I have just started using as my main email. We have just changed from Tiscali to BT and we currently have both accessing our computers whilst we deal with the changeover. So my default email is tiscali and is downloaded via Thunderbird, but I am mainly using Hotmail now. Would it help if I cut Tiscali off altogether? Is it that Hotmail is not compatible with Firefox? Your help would be greatly appreciated as I am getting VERY frustrated with it!
When the crash box comes up after each crash, I put a comment in but it ALWAYS says "unable to submit your report" so that's not much help. So I have no crash IDs (see below)

I have the hotmail firefox crash problem too...and have not been offered a 'fix'...any ideas sent to you?
