Firefox crashes daily on German isp (TKS)

I Need help badly . My wife and I just moved to Germany from the US. All localizations have been set - no issues there. The issue is multiple crashes a day - every day. I run Firefox on a Surface Pro 3 512GB and on an older HP Pavilion. My wife has a Mac. We've been having lots of crashes in the middle of important work on every machine. I've rarely had any issues with FF back home.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
#Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. (Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the ID's. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)

  • Firefox crashes daily, unrelated to any action

Firefox 13.0.1, but also happened with earlier versions. After running for several hours, Firefox will crash, often while I am in the middle of reading a page (i.e., not navigating or opening a link at the moment of the crash). I uninstalled Firefox and removed my current profile and reinstalled clean with no Add-Ons and I still have this behavior. I am using the latest video driver for my computer.

Looks like a problem with a plugin.

  • Multiple crashes daily of mozilla firefox with windows operating system. Crash reports sent but no change.

for the past 4 weeks, firefox crashes daily multiple times. I already have it set to send the crash report to mozilla but no change/help from firefox. why the constant crashing?

    Hi bostongio9
Your crashes all have a different crash signature.
You can try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 18.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Maybe also do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Firefox crashes once daily, and I find it when I get home from work. Every day.

As the title says, Firefox crashes exactly once per day. I always find it when I come home from work, which can be anywhere from 8 to 10 PM. It is every single day, not just occasional. More specifically, the Firefox window is missing and all that remains is the generic "Visual C++ Runtime Library" crash box.
My system is a fairly new machine. I just built it earlier this year.
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 black edition (quad core overclocked from 3.2 to 4.1 GHz)
    Motherboard: Asus M4A785-M
    RAM: 3 GB DDR2
    Video: Zotac GeForce 9800 GT
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (dual boot with Debian Lenny, but the crash is just in Windows)
I know the first thing that stands out there is that overclock, but it's unrelated. I suspected it causing an issue at first, so I ran it at stock specs for 3 days. It still crashed Firefox daily. I believe the system itself is quite stable, I never have problems with other software. My FF version is up to date, although it's been doing this for the past 3 or 4 releases. The only add-ons I have installed are DownloadHelper and Flash Player, but it still crashes if I disable them.
This one's got me kind of stumped. Does anybody have any clue what could be triggering this? It doesn't matter what tabs I have open either, in case anybody was wondering. One day, just to test that I closed Firefox before I left in the morning, then opened it back up with only one tab: google.com ....... still crashed by the time I got back home.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem does not disappear when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

  • Firefox always crashes daily

Hi I am on Windows 7, I have not got any viruses and that.
It crashes all of the time if I have 1-15 tabs open. It'd just freeze and turned into non responsive programme, I had to end task manually. Sometime it turned into black while strolling down and then firefox crash report thing pops up.
I have had that problem for like 4-5 months now. I had the problem on the 3.5, 4.0 beta and this. Running in safe mode made no difference.

We have the fix available and out in the app store now. Please upgrade the 'Microsoft OneNote for Mac' app from the app store.
This update will help all the users who were hitting the crash at the launch either due to malformed fonts on the system or due to their home folder on a separate partition.

  • Firefox crashes on opening within seconds. started suddenly several weeks ago and i haven't been able to get on since. i reinstalled but updating didn't work. it won't even open in safe mode. HELP!

firefox crashes on opening within seconds. this started suddenly a few weeks ago and despite several daily attempts, i still can't load firefox application. it crashes immediately upon startup every time no matter what and crash reporter arrives. i have researched all the articles and followed their suggestions. i installed the newest version of firefox and still get the same results. i can't even open firefox in safe mode.

You do not want to remove the program directory with a Mac because Firefox is most likely installed in the system Applications directory which is where the system applications are stored.
Have you tried removing the Firefox plist file from your user library? I have Mac OS 10.6.8 as well, and that file is at /Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences. Close Firefox and remove that file, then start Firefox again.

  • Firefox crashes when I try to open Boomarks

This is a new problem as I refer to Bookmarks daily. Now when I click the Bookmarks tab Firefox crashes and present the 'submit report' window.

[[Firefox 18 crashes on startup due to malware - how to fix]]

  • Ok, one sentence, that's tough - I have gone through the 'firefox crashes when you open it' troubleshooting but my problem remains that firefox crashes when i open it, how do i fix this?

Several days ago firefox crashed when opening and it does so every time i try to open it now. I am able to use internet explorer perfectly. In fact one way i discovered i can still open firefox is by using Advanced System Care (which i installed after the crashing so it was not in any way responsible) and going to 'test bandswidth'. Because firefox is my default browser it opened it up. I was able to enter safe mode in this way and restart firefox in safe mode. I then set firefox so that all plugins and extensions were disabled but this did not help. I am running the default theme. I will be happy to provide any further information if anyone can help..thanks in advance.

You always need to install such a version alongside of the current release via a custom install and use a separate profile for each Firefox version.
Make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished and use the Profile Manager to create a new (separate) profile for each version.<br />
Do a custom install in a different program folder and use the Profile Manager to create a new profile for this version, so make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished.

  • Firefox crashes when opening "Extras Add-ons"

Firefox crashes when opening "Extras>Add-ons" (German user interface - I don't know what the according menu points are labeled in English).
The crash seems to be so severe that no crash ID is created. On every restart after a crash Firefox 4 is in offline mode and has to be switched back to online mode. If needed I could provide a screenshot of the error message shown when firefox crashes.
There were no problems on this machine running firefox 3.xx. The problems occurred after upgrading from firefox 3.6x to firefox 4.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Firefox crashes around every 4 hours, says something about a missing thread

My firefox crashes just about every 4 hours or so, from what I can tell. It has been doing it daily since at least May, and I always submit a crash report (in hopes I can get help), but not all of them are in the list.
My Firefox, plugins and Windows is up to date, it is a work computer, so they keep up on the windows, and I keep up on the installed tools and browsers. I guess I should note that each time it crashes it says Thank you for installing Firefox version (latest), which had already been installed.
I have been getting some things popping up in virus and spyware checker, but they are work related so they can access my computer. That also started in May, so I got freaked and had them scan my computer.
IT tried troubleshooting my computer and made me do Safe Mode for a day, and it still crashed at approximately the same time intervals.
I have accessed about: crashes and viewed my latest report (which is listed first in Crash IDs), I have also done the Search Mozilla Support and gotten nothing, so I am here.
I do have a lot of other crash reports in the query, I would list them in the Crash ID(s) area, but I think the time stamps are important:

  • My Firefox crashes frequently, but I the system can not find the reports to send for analysis.

My Firefox crashes frequently, The system goes to the grayed screen and sits there until I try to close it, then it says "Firefox not responding" and I close the program. When I go to "about:crashes" it says the report was submitted, but I never get any feedback and when I try to retrieve the report to look at it, the system can never find it. This happens at least twice daily. It keeps searching for a while, then displays the gratituous "Oh Noes. The report could not be located" message. I've included the latest crash report address.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5. You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

  • Firefox crashing AND the scroll feature on my PC finger pad works with other browsers, but doesn't work on Firefox, which just happened since I updated. FRUSTRATING!

Since I updated, Firefox is crashing daily. The finger scroll feature on my PC works with other browsers, but doesn't work on Firefox. It is also very, very slow, but other browsers aren't. I can't use it anymore until it's fixed.

  • Firefox crashes together with Proxifier and Sophos Endpoint Protection 10

    Hello there other Firefox-Users,
    Old information:
A few hours ago, I tried to start Firefox and it crashed. Nothing very special but I tried it again. Tried the "Restart-Button" and also tried the "Stop-Button" several times and trying to open firefox again. It crashed every time. After that I used the option to recover all lost stuff. It didn't work, for whatever reason, I really don't know why. So, back to factory-settings I tried to sync at least my bookmarks, addons and themes. Which just says at the Bottom of the Browser:
"Sync - Error during Synchronisation: Unknown Error. Sync will try this again"
There's a button for "Synchronise now" tried it several times, disconnected, reconected. No solution.
The Bookmarks are all still on the "Sync-Server" because my Tablet AND my Phone synchronises perfectly.

    New Information:
Earlier, Proxifier and Firefox worked together totally fine. After I installed Sophos Endpoint Protection 10, Firefox crashes instantly when Proxifier is activated. This is one of the Crash-Logs: http://pastebin.mozilla.org/6779212

So, I just found out, that my Problem is not only the Sync, it was. In that case. But the Main Problem is now:
Since I installed Sophos Endpoint Protection 10 and I start Proxifier, I'm unable to start Firefox because it keeps on crashing. When I stop Proxifier, I'm able to start Firefox. This is a problem, earlier I used Proxifier and Firefox both together when I had no Sophos Endpoint Protection.
And NO. I don't use Profixier for Firefox, I know the Proxy-Settings in Firefox.
I guess I need to ask Proxifier Support, Sophos Support and this Support again. Can somebody please move this to the right Subforum?

  • Why does firefox crash when the internet connection is lost?

We have been having trouble with our internet connection recently and firefox crashes whenever the connection is lost, but this didn't used to happen, so I was wondering why this was happening.

If there is any intermittent issues or connection is lost you will revert to the menu, regardless. The 'apps' are fed via server and there is nothing stored on the unit, it simply caches when you are online.
As for the initial wait time. That could be due to ISP throttling, interference, using another DNS
