  • What did the installation of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 changed in the system because after that Firefox crashes every time when opened?

My system worked normally but after I installation CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 Firefox crashes every time I try to open it. I've tried disabling plugins and add-ons but with no success. Reinstallation of Firefox hasn't helped. But as I this has happened to me on a couple of other computers too, I've been able pin point the source of problem to installation of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 (and earlier versions, too).
Firefox can be opened without problems in safe mode or in Windows XP SP3 compatiblity mode. Does Firefox use some different system components then?
I am using 32-bit Windows7 and latest version of Firefox.

It is possible that the CorelDRAW program installed extra fonts on your computer and that Firefox is having a problem with one or more of them.

  • Firefox crashes every time at the moment I enable flash plugin. I've uninstalled and installed a plugin again with no positive result. What should be done?

Firefox crashes every time when I enable a flash plugin. It started today after an automatic attempt of updating shockwave. I've uninstalled flash and installed it again. Still the same story. There are no previous version of flash available on adobe site. What should be done?

I have Firefox 3.6.8 and newest version of Flash. I've followed all recommendations made by Firefox support, changing plug in container settings, changing hang time, nothing helps. I'm forced to disable Adobe Flash or Firefox crashes whenever the Flash plug-in is needed. There are numerous reports of this problem throughout the Firefox troubleshoot help pages. No one seems to have a good answer to fix this. I now keep Flash disabled and use it only when going to a web page that needs it. If I find myself on such a page, I can go into tools, enable flash and do a reload. For some reason, this works. The reload will let Flash do its thing and Firefox won't have an APPCRASH. Once I leave that page, however, I must disable Flash again or I'll experience a crash the next time Flash is called upon. I really like FF but have downloaded Chrome and am now playing with it to see if I like it enough to use it as my primary browser. It's a shame that FF can't come up with a fix as hundreds have the same complaint.

  • TCCD crashes every second

    Dear All,
I've got a problem with TCC similar to https://discussions.apple.com/message/19128438#19128438.
There are 2 accounts in my macbook pro. If I log in with the second user then tccd crashes every second and that makes impossible to use most of the programs (Safari, Contacts, Mail etc).
There is no tccd db created for this user. The com.apple.TCC folder doesn't exist in ~/Library/Application support/
If I open the Console then I see how crash reports are generated. Every second I've got a new tccd crash report.
The system is freshю I just got out of the box in February. Any help is appreciated.

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Firefox crashes every time I open it, within seconds, so I can't fix anything in the toolbars (if that's where the problem is).

Every time I open Firefox, even in Safe Mode, it crashes within 5 seconds. It's not enough time to make changes in the toolbars at top. The page says "Well, this is embarrassing..." and when it crashes it takes me to Mozilla Crash Reporter. I opened Fontbook, eliminated bad fonts, and that didn't help. I'm working on a Mac OS X 10.8.4 and Chrome works fine. There don't appear to be any malware problems. I've looked through all the help forums and none of them have contained suggestions that solve my problem.

Hello SEHW, we're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing when you open it. Please do the following to give us crash IDs that will help us understand more about the crash.
#Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the '''Go''' menu, hold down the '''option''' or '''alt''' key and select '''Library'''. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
#Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Firefox crashes 2 seconds after startup. This happened after repair upgrade to Windows 7

After repair upgrade Firefox (9.0) would not work. I finally un-installed and re-installed it without success. Following your support guidelines I tried deleting my profile with partial success in that with a new profile Firefox would run once then revert back to an apparent crash after 2 seconds (as seen from task manager). After every new profile created it followed this same routine of working just the once. Any help would be appreciated.

Try a "clean reinstall" of Firefox by removing the Mozilla Firefox installation directory before reinstalling it, as explained in these articles:
*[[Basic Troubleshooting]] - see the "Reinstall Firefox" section [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_7-reinstall-firefox here].
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall (MozillaZine's KB article is currently unavailable)
If Firefox still crashes after a clean reinstall, try the suggestions in the [[Firefox crashes]] article [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20crashes here] and, if possible, post a crash Report ID, as explained at the end of that article.

  • Firefox crashes every few minutes for about 15 - 20 times and then crashes less often.

I have been using Firefox for several years with no problems. I have had my current laptop for 1 and a half years and have had no problems until about 2 months ago. Now Firefox crashes after only a few seconds several times (maybe 15-20 times) and then the interval between crashes tends to increase. I googled for help, and nothing has worked. I am still using Firefox 3.6.24 because when I upgrade to the latest version Firefox freezes while it is loading and it locks up my PC. At least with Firefox 3.6.24, I can get around to using it, although it is very frustrating wiwth all the crashes.
This is the link to the latest crash report submitted:
    2478ec0b-1112-4ba8-929e-78a97a7a5e96
While I have your attention, is there any way I can get Firefox to stop asking me if I want to update my version. I am getting sick and tired of having to say 'NO' (for the reasons above).

    OK,
I uninstalled Firefox and Adobe Flash Player. Then I installed version 3.6.28 of Firefox and version 10.3.183.20 of the Flash player as instructed in cor-el's post.
Result: Same problems -- Firefox continued to crash every few minutes.
So... I tried Tylerdowner's suggestions. I already had the latest driver version for my graphics card. Back in June, I had downloaded the latest version of Firefox which then was 13.0.1. It was the latest version available when the crashing problem started on my laptop. This version caused my laptop to freeze.
So today, I went to the website and downloaded the more recent version 14.0.1, and it appears to be working great. I have gone for more than an hour without a crash. I hope the good performance continues.
    Thanks for the help.

  • OS 10.4.7 finder crashing every second

I have the console log and a witness, for those who think I am hallucinating.
Last night this happened twice. Firefox crashed, and took a couple of open applications with it. Rapidly, the finder crashed, opened again, crashed, opened again, rinse and repeat, the remaining open applications crashed, and the finder opened and crashed repeatedly approximately every second. It was like a slow strobe light. I watched in amazement for a while then powered it off. The apps that phone home and report crashes crashed too, but all crashes were written to the console log (I haven't checked the app logs themselves yet.)
My son went back to what he was doing, to apologize to the friends he was chatting to, and the whole thing happened again. We powered off and I declared it bed time.
I started in safe mode this morning and it is OK so far.
My son thinks the trigger for the initial crash was MSN web messenger running on Firefox and using Japanese language.
Isn't OS X designed so that when an application crashes that is the only one that crashes and other applications and the system itself are protected? What could be going on here? While my son is waiting for his PC to come back from the repair shop, should I let him chat with his Japanese friends on my Mac or ban him?
    Pam
(P.S. I have good reasons to use Firefox not Safari, but that is a different topic.)

I'm glad there is someone else out there who has seen this. I was worried I would have no cred at all. My son is studying software engineering, and has studied computer science, and stresses his PC to the max when gaming, and he has never seen any computer anywhere crash like that.
If he asks to use my Mac again, I will make sure all the Japanese fonts are enabled (I have hundreds of fonts, so won't enable them all).
Add to the weird stuff: an iCal alarm reminding me to put out the garbage stayed open and I was able to close it even with the finder flashing on and off like that. My garbage note was the only thing that survived.
