Firefox crashes intermittantly on yahoo mail

When firefox open with yahoo mail displayed, whether i am using the page or its in the background, it crashes, it sends reports. this started towards the end of the last version 4.*** and now on also on version 5. its getting to be a real nuisance.
When using yahoo, and when I am deleting mail is when it seems to occur most often.

Installing a Flash plug-in took care of this problem

  • Firefox crashes when accessing Yahoo Mail, just after I enter password

I just updated Firefox and now I can't log into Yahoo Mail. I can go the the login page, but after I type in my password, Firefox just closes. I have restarted Firefox and very briefly saw my main mail page, so I know it actually does log in, but the main mail page is causing problems.
Looking through the troubleshooting history, this appears to have happened before with Yahoo Mail and the solution appears to have been a new Firefox update that solved the problem. Mozilla programmers: hint hint.
One additional point, the upgrade did not run smoothly. It failed twice with messages that Firefox was still running and the update could not be completed.

I solved this problem by doing a ground-up reinstall of Firefox. I suspected the sketchy update that I did was part of the problem.

  • Firefox won't load Yahoo mail jpg's (Mac)

JPG images attached to Yahoo mail won't display in Firefox (Mac), either in preview mode or when the message is fully opened. The images show up as dogeared pages at the bottom of the email. "View Slideshow" also only shows the images as dogeared pages in a separate window. However, if I forward the email, the images do show up on the message while I'm editing it.
Safari has no such problem, and Firefox has no problems if I open the same message in Gmail.

I have the same problem happening, but only when I'm trying to relaunch the applet - I can get the applet to launch on the first try, but then if I leave it open and my connection times out, I can't relaunch the applet later. The only thing that seems to work is rebooting my computer - I've tried clearing cache, cookies, etc., and it has no effect.

  • The new Firefox has removed my Yahoo mail and other settings. Why? How do I get them back? It gives me a screen that says go "here" but nothing happens.

Before the latest update, I used Firefox almost exclusively. Now that the new version has removed, or hidden, my entire Yahoo settings and pages, I can't use Firefox at all.

hello, how to restart firefox into safemode is described in the link i've provided in my prior answer.
other users also had problems with yahoo mail when they were using the ghostery addon - do you have it installed too by any chance? if so, add an exception for yahoo mail: click on the ghostery icon while you're in yahoo's webmail, choose "edit blocking options" & then don't block on this domain...

  • Safari Crashing/Freezing with Yahoo Mail

I think this has already been mentioned but hoping Apple will do something about it if we keep bugging them.
Safari keeps freezing when I try to attach a file using Yahoo Mail. I have to force quit, even though it doesn't say that Safari's unresponsive.
Combined with the fact that Safari has also become very slow at loading pages, if they load at all, I've reverted to using Firefox. Thanks for the version 5.0 update, really regret installing it.

    HI,
I think this has already been mentioned but hoping Apple will do something about it
It's not Apple's responsibility to update third party software.
If you have BrowserPlus installed, it's not compatible with Safari 5.

You can contact Yahoo here for that. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/contactus/index.html

  • Firefox crashes when sending e-mail from hotmail. This is not an issue for safari. Help!

Firefox keeps crashing when I try to create a new e-mail in hotmail or forward an e-mail. It is a browser issue, because when I try to do the same thing in safari, I don't have any trouble.

I did. When I type in about crashes in the address bar I get this:
    Submitted Crash Reports
No crash reports have been submitted.
How can I search for a crash signature when I don't get one? Is there something I can do to make sure that I do get one.

  • Firefox is freezing my yahoo mail. I have a mac and it runs in Safari.

After I write an email I cannot send or save the email. Sometimes I can't even cancel and leave the email to start over. I am using a Mac (sowleopard) mainly. Sometimes I use my old pc (XP), and I have the same problem on both computers. I do not have this problem with Safari and really only need firefox for a few things, though I made it my main internet browsing program until now. I can't type a huge email and not have it send.

So I just got back from vacation and uninstalled firefox. Reinstalled it and I still have the same problem. The odd thing is now it doesn't work in Google Chrome either. So I'm sure it is a Mac problem now. Probably has nothing to do with FireFox and everything to do with being dumb enough to buy a 4000 $ paperweight called mac. What a hunk of junk.
    Thanks for your help.
    I loved that book to.

  • How do I get firefox 3.5 back? Firefox 4 can't find yahoo.mail URL. Using your suggestions has caused me to loose my system tray icons and printers from my computer altogether and my system restore will no longer work either.

Firefox 4.0 cannot find the Yahoo mail URL. Working with the Verizon tech we were able to get Internet Explorer to finaly find the yahoo mail web site. But not luck with Firefox 4.0 .
Since trying your suggestions to make firefox 4 find the Yahoo mail URL. I have noticed that all of my system tray icons except the Panda anti virus and volume control icons have disapeared. My system restore will not restore and printers are gone altogether. How do I get the old firefox and all i've lost back.

  • Yahoo mail not working in Firefox(latest version); IS working IE. Started today June 5

    Firefox 29.0.1
Yahoo Mail classic have switched/tried all avail versions
    June 5 after 12 noon PDT the SEND button does not work; Meaning can not reply, forward, or compose any emails;
I went to IE and have no problems. Logged in ; tried compose and send worked; tried forwrad and SEND button worked. I hate IE prefer Firefox but it is MANDATORY I can send emails.. (overrides preferences)
    Laptop computer, Windows XP,

Unless Yahoo changed something, which certainly is possible, the suggested approach is the usual:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove your Yahoo cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove your Yahoo cookies without affecting other sites.
Then try reloading the page and logging back in. Any improvement?
To rule out extensions as a possible culprit, could you try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
''Flash and other plugins still run in Safe Mode''
After Firefox closes, a small dialog should display. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any difference?
Some users have reported that older bookmarks or home pages do not redirect to the latest Yahoo server correctly. As a workaround, try accessing mail through the home page (www.yahoo.com or att.yahoo.com or whichever one it happens to be).

  • Can access Yahoo, but can't open Yahoo Mail in Firefox. Can on Internet explorer.

Can access Yahoo, but Can't open Yahoo Mail in Firefox. Can open Yahoo Mail on Internet Explorer. Checked Password.

PROBLEM: This is the error I get when I simply try to open an email in Firefox. File not found Firefox can't find the file at http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/blank.html?bn=555&.intl=us&.lang=en-US. * Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors. * Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.
    POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
I contacted Yahoo and they had me clear (1) cookies and (2) cache. This did work so that I can now open the emails in Firefox.
    COMMENTS:
Yahoo support said "Please rest assured that Yahoo! Mail is properly working as of this time. It would be best if you contact Mozilla Firefox help support. They have the right tools and knowledge with the settings to access Internet Sites like Yahoo! Mail on Mozilla Firefox browser."
I'd like to know what to do to prevent this in the future because I've had this issue twice now in the last few weeks.

  • Firefox will no longer let me access my Yahoo mail due to a certificate problem, and it will not let me add an exception. How do I get into my email?

I have been using this computer and firefox to access my yahoo mail for like 4 years now, but today it decided to stop allowing it, due to a problem with the security certificate. It says: "This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate." I checked my email successfully early today, but now I can't. I can still get it with internet explorer, but not firefox. How do I fix this?

Take easy and follow some steps:
    click on link: mail.yahoo.com
if not opening then can you find there a notification like "blocked"
if yes : Click on that and then select continue without block or any option like that.
Then click the upper yahoo link again .
if you succeeded ,please click on solution,
