  • Home sharing works with one account but not another?

    My family has an apple tv, we've been having problems setting up the home sharing and tried everything. We eventually decided to try my brother's apple id instead of my mother's and it worked. So my question is; why does home sharing not work with one id but works with the other? any suggestions to get it to work with my mother's id?

    Try resetting the Apple TV. enter your mother's ID again. Then remove her ID on iTunes and re-add it. Then see if it works this time.

  • Form prints from one account, but not from other on same computer

    With Brother 5040 printer and latest driver.
    I have a form in a Panorama V db file that will print properly from my "Test" account, but not my main account on the same machine.
    When I try to print this form from my main account I get a the intitial Print Dialog, then brief flash of the preparing to print. But it never makes it to the printer. It was working fine up until yesterday. I made no system level changes.
    This is a word processing form in PanV. Other forms in the same file print fine. A word processing form in a different file also has developed the problem. Obviously, there is some connection to Panorama, still looking for troubleshooting solutions.
    Martin

    Look for a problem in your user library. Try removing printing preference and other printing-related files from the library, as well as the Panorama plist. Then log out and back in, and see if it prints properly.

  • Syncing iPhone with one Mac but not another

    I have a home Mac and a work Mac.
    I want the iPhone 3GS to sync with my home Mac, and it does so perfectly.
    Sometimes I'm at work and I need to charge the phone, so I plug it into the work Mac, and it launches iTunes and attempts to sync with it (which, if I let it continue, would erase all my loaded stuff). I always stop it manually.
    I see the option in iTunes checked for "Always sync the iPhone to this Mac" (or something like that). If I uncheck it, it fixes this, but next time I go home, the iPhone doesn't sync with the home phone because this option unchecks itself at home too!
    So how do I make sure it syncs to the home Mac, but does not erase itself when plugged into the work Mac?

    From the user guide, page 16, http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
    You may want to prevent iPhone from syncing automatically when you connect iPhone to a computer other than the one you usually sync with.
    1. Turn off automatic syncing for iPhone: Connect iPhone to your computer. In iTunes, select iPhone in the sidebar, then click the Summary tab. Deselect “Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected.” You can always sync by clicking the Sync button.
    2. Prevent automatic syncing for all iPhones and iPods: In iTunes choose iTunes > Preferences (on a Mac) or Edit > Preferences (on a PC), click Devices, and select “Disable automatic syncing for all iPhones and iPods. If this checkbox is selected, iPhone won’t sync automatically, even if “Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected” is selected in the Summary pane.
    3. Prevent automatic syncing one time, without changing settings: Open iTunes. Then, as you connect iPhone to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (on a Mac) or Shift-Control (on a PC) until you see iPhone appear in the sidebar."
    I use option 3 without any problems.

  • Video works with one friend but not another?? please HELP!

    my ichat video isn't connecting with my friend christina. we've taken turns calling each other and my computer keeps saying "no data has been received in 10 seconds" i can hear the ringing and then when we go to connect thats when the message comes up and cancels the call. at the same exact time my other friend sam was online so to test out my video chat i called her. & it worked. christina also connected with sam separately & that worked. then we tried a conference where all 3 of us could chat, and sam started it and invited both of us. it worked and we could all talk & see each other. however for some reason i can't connect to just christina. what's going on?

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
    iChat can have several messages on a failed chat.
    The "No Data for 10 Secs" one only appears on chats that connect (even if you don't see the Video)
    Basically it point to an issues between iChat at the Internet.
    The same Result can be achieved by pulling the Ethernet cable out or turning the Airport card off or powering down the modem or router.
    So we have to look at what can produce a similar break in the Internet connection without the drastic steps above.
    Some modem and router have "protection" features that will do this.
    Denial of Service (DoS) tries to make sure any data that come to your Computer does so at a rate it can handle.
    It was originally designed to protect Web Servers from "attacks" where too many requests coming to frequently used to bring servers and their Internet connections to halt.
    So Dos is threshold based,. It will cut any port that it thinks there is an "Attack" on.
    Video chats can send lots of data.
    These thresholds that are preset in the device tend to be set at Web page streaming speeds (allowing for multiple requests on popular servers) - but also at older Internet Speeds.
    Modern Speeds and things like iChat Streaming two way Video can mean that certain Buddies can send you data faster than the threshold is set for particularly with iChat 5.
    Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) works differently but can only process a certain amount of data and will cut the port that is causing it to be overloaded making it Threshold based as well.
    There is no way to change the thresholds involved so the best course of action is to Disable the feature.
    So the Speed Sam has to send you Video may be lower than that of Christine and not bump into the threshold.
    If Sam is the Host then it the Speed of that Internet Connection that governs how fast Data is sent to you.
    One solution is to cap iChat in iChat > Preferences > Audio/Video Menu to 500kbps on the all Buddies involved.
    If this solve the issue between you and Christine then you can move on to your Modem or router.

  • Can signon with one account but not another one

    Been using iChat for years, the other day I installed both Adium and Fire but neither of them would signon my main AIM account but would signon my secondary AIM account. NOW, though, iChat refuses to signon my primary AIM account either! The only way to signon with that account is to use the AOL IM application, it signs on flawlessly. Password IS correctly entered, just the one AIM account won't authenticate.
    I deleted iChat prefs, ran Cocktail, turned off the firewall, still no joy.
    Ideas?

    Hi ClarkDV,
    In iChat prefernces > Accounts section
    Is the tick box to Allow Multiple logins of the account name actually ticked ?
    Do Adium and Fire have similar settings ?

  • VC model fails for one user but not another - both have same auths

    We have a VC model that we created and moved to Prod (portal NW04s connecting to BW 3.5 query).  It works fine for user A, but user B gets error:
    #1.5#0003BADBD644002D000000030000053D0004282F58AC16AC#1170083723088#com.sap.port

    #/System/Server#Java###Cannot execute BW query::Nested Exception. Failure to exe
    cute native function. Nested Exception. INVALID_VARIABLE_VALUES
    Both user have same authorizations in Portal and BW backend.
    There is no trace info on the BW back end, so it seems like the hangup is occuring on the portal side.

    It turns out it was the backend authorizations.  The user was able to view the BW query via the BEX Explorer.  But when she tried to access it via a VC Flex IView, we got that error.  Initially I wasn't seeing any auth traces in the BW system, but then we expaneded the trace and determined the user was missing an activity.   It's a strange error.  Would be nicer to see a 'user not authorized' or something along those lines to better pinpoint the cause.  But we're good now.

  • AppleTV v2 works with one TV but not another... ideas?

    I just got a new TV (my girlfriend decided a 27" CRT TV was a bad idea, and got me a 24" Vizio LCD).  I already had an AppleTV hooked up to the LCD TV in the living room (I share a house with two friends).  It worked fine in the living room!
    I decided to check things out, took the AppleTV into my bedroom with all the cords, attached it to the new TV, turned it all on... and the AppleTV started up, but was completely unresponsive to the remote.  No flicker from the blue-light, nothing.  I pulled the power cord, counted twenty seconds, plugged back in... nothing.  Still no response to the remote.
    Hit the menu and down-arrow, waited ten seconds, the blue-light flickered, I released and it restarted... to give me nothing.  Still no other response to the remote.
    Turned off the TV, disconnected the HDMI cord, waited about ten seconds, reconnected the cable and turned on the TV... nothing.
    Took the ATV, with the same power cord and HDMI cable, reconnected to the older TV that it was attached to... no problem!  Just fine!
    Any ideas?  I may consider getting a second ATV for my bedroom, but if there's going to be weirdness like this I may not do it.
    I couldn't check any of the AppleTV's settings on the new TV, due to the lack of any kind of working connection, so I don't know what it was coming up as.

    So what could be causing it to crashin SQL/PLUS through PUTTY? This makes no sense to me.
    I've also ran it through the code formatter, as this will often show the ugly face of something that is hidden. But no such luck.

    So the lesson here is that PL/SQL could care less about white space, but SQLPlus is picky....
    Thanks. :)Exactly. And I have to make note of that in my written procedure for restoring some of our test databases from a cold backup of production. Turns out the control file trace script (backup controlfile to trace) inserts a blank line ... then sqlplus chokes on it when executing ..

    We've had several instances where we have had to run chkdsk on arrays with over 1m files. Average completion time is approximately 72 hours. The maximum downtime window they have available is the 64 hour weekend window. File sizes and number of files were
    much smaller then than they are now.
    The idea, in theory, was to use VHDs to compartmentalize the data into smaller volumes which could be more easily managed. It would also improve performance when transferring these compartments of data as they would use sequential read/write rather than
    fragmented/random. This idea was never fleshed out in entirety, they don't split data up into little containers, but simply into big ones per project. Hence the 11m files in one container that I am currently trying to diagnose.
    Some other important facts: The VHD in question is mounted in B:/project/ as this server also allows remote workers to log in, but they are restricted to see only data in E:. Disks A-D are hidden via group policy.
    Update: icacls is failing on a large number of files within this dataset. I counted the path characters to ensure it wasn't the 255 character limit I was encountering and verified that the paths being blocked are only about 150 characters long. Once it finishes,
    I'll have to try taking ownership and then re-running it. At this point I still have no idea how long to expect. I'm running out of time as the environment will be in use again at 9AM tomorrow morning.

    Is there something from sun that can be downloaded by the users or is there some problem at the server level?
    Thanks

    It's probably because of the way the html that's calling the applet is coded, in conjunction with the vendor (Sun or MS) and version of the Plugin/JRE. This will help you ger started with diagnosis:

  • Bubble Event firing in one company but not another

    Having spent the past 2 days trying to get the installer working (which it finally does thanks to people on this forum!), I've finally pushed my add-in out to people this morning.
    Unfortunately, the bubbleevent seems to be being ignored in all companies bar the test company.
    The code is below. The nominal codes do not begin with "720", so that section is not being fired in either company.
    So, my question is, why would a bubble event work in one company but not another?
    Private Sub oApp_ItemEvent(ByVal FormUID As String, ByRef pVal As SAPbouiCOM.ItemEvent, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean) Handles oApp.ItemEvent
            Dim NumberRows As Long
            Dim oMatrix As SAPbouiCOM.Matrix
            Dim oRowCount As Integer
            Dim oCheck As SAPbouiCOM.EditText
            Dim oCheck2 As SAPbouiCOM.EditText
            REM Check for Profit Centre and Project Code on each line of Purchase Transactions
            If pVal.FormTypeEx = "142" Or pVal.FormTypeEx = "141" Or pVal.FormTypeEx = "181" Or _
            pVal.FormTypeEx = "139" Or pVal.FormTypeEx = "133" Or pVal.FormTypeEx = "179" Then
                REM Set to active form and Sales/Purchase transaction matrix
                oForm = oApp.Forms.ActiveForm
                oItem = oApp.Forms.Item(FormUID).Items.Item("38")
                oMatrix = oItem.Specific
                If pVal.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_ITEM_PRESSED And _
                  pVal.Before_Action Then
                    If pVal.ItemUID = "1" Then
                        NumberRows = oMatrix.RowCount
                        For oRowCount = 1 To NumberRows - 1
                            oCheck = oMatrix.Columns.Item("30").Cells.Item(oRowCount).Specific
                            If oCheck.Value = "" Then
                                oApp.MessageBox("Please enter a Profit Centre on row " & oRowCount)
                                BubbleEvent = False
                            End If
                            oCheck = oMatrix.Columns.Item("31").Cells.Item(oRowCount).Specific

                                    oApp.MessageBox("Please enter a Car Registration on row " & oRowCount)

                        Next oRowCount
                    End If
                End If
            End If
        End Sub

    Hi Daniel,
    Then the only option I see is that the If statement is true in one database, and false on the others.
    If oApp.Company.DatabaseName = "FOLLIS_LIVE" Or oApp.Company.DatabaseName = "FOLLUK_TEST" Then
    If oCheck.Value = "" And Left(oCheck2.Value, 3) = "720" Then
    oApp.MessageBox("Please enter a Car Registration on row " & oRowCount)
    BubbleEvent = False
    Exit For
    End If
    End If
    If oCheck.Value = "" Then
    oApp.MessageBox("Please enter a Project on row " & oRowCount)
    BubbleEvent = False
    End If
    One of this is should be different on the companies.
    Nothing else comes to my mind.
    Regards,
    Ibai Peñ

    Is there a way I can move movies from one itunes library to another on the same computer?

    Locate them in the Windows Explorer, move or copy those files as you would any other, and drag them into the open iTunes window when the second library is loaded. If you're using two iTunes libraries on one user account, you only need to locate the files; otherwise, they need to be put in a shared area.

    Hi
    We have two Oracle 10g databases installed. Enterprise Manager works with the second, but not the first. I believe the problem started when we migrated the host server to another network domain. Everything else works fine, but I'm getting a page load failure when attempting to access enterprise mgr.
    The second db was installed after the migration and EM works fine.
    Can anyone tell me how to reconfigure this?
