Firefox Crashes - Too Many Bookmarks
I have over 100,000 bookmarks of research. Firefox Home Screen goes black after a few minutes of attempting to sync bookmarks for the first time on device. I am using a iPhone 3GS with iOS 4. When I reduce the nuber, which I should not have to and prefer not to, at 57,000 or so, it does fine. Is their a limit. I assumed since it is XML/HTML, there was no perceived restrictions. Is the database/storage file on device not capable of handleling that capacity?
Also could you include a bookmarklet in safari or some method of adding new bookmarks while mobile?
Great start.

Note 368612.1 - DB Control Agent Crash : Too many files
Hi
I have a 2 node RAC
The RAC DB Control agent crash after about 4 hours of running.
Base on my check in Metalink I identified it as a bug (See note 368612.1)
The agents will open the hc_<inst>.dat file hundreds of times with new file handles before it crashes.
I cannot stop the database for patch installation.
But I propose to run a cronjob that starts the agent and stops it after maybe 1 hour.
This stop / start cronjob will maybe run once every few hours.
This will prevent the agent from opening too many files and crash.
What do you guys think of this ?Um, have you tried the fix in the note you provided?!?!?

Mid 2010 mac book pro crashing too many times!!!
HELP! I'm basically fed up with my mac book pro crashing so many times in a day. I'm not doing anything tedious, just basic web surfing and music and some microsoft word/excel. I've read that someone recommended to run EtreCheck and paste the result here so anyone that knows how to read them can help me figure out what's happening!
Problem description:
My Mac book pro have been crashing lately. I’ve max out my RAM to 8gb. And the frequency seems to increased to few times in a day. I’ve uninstalled a software that I suspect to be causing the problem but it didn’t help.

I'm using firefox (now 27b2) having many tabs opened and i got used to the fact that many times crashes down ... each time i restore the session and it starts again ... but yesterday it "died" on me. Each time i'm trying to run it i get a warning sound and firefox refuses to open. As far as i remember i didn't install any soft lately ... but right before it's death, my pc was getting frozen and need it reboot ... that happened 3-4 times and then firefox "left" this cruel world. I run S&D, Malware bytes, Avast IS ... found nothing. Tried to open it in safe mode unsuccesfuly getting the same warning sound. I decided to uninstall it (Revo uninstaller) and used Ccleaner to wipe the leftovers then i tried to reinstall it but when running setup i get a message says "File corrupt" and everything ends here. I tried firefox 26 stab and it worked like a charm but the question remains the same why the beta version refuses to run and/or to be reinstalled ... If there is someone out there (I'm sure there are many...) with any suggestions or advices i would be very grateful ...Thank you all...
Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*'''Windows:'''
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you.
<!-- VERY important to include-->
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u> -
Why in Firefox 9 are many bookmark icons missing? (Mac OSX Leopard)
After the 9.0 update most all of the icons in the bookmarks lists disappeared. Others have a dotted line box in place of solid box. What gives?
Hi unclesuds,
You should take a look at [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/latest-firefox-issues#os=mac&browser=fx9 this article] that discusses some of the issues with the latest build of Firefox.
There is some information in there that should help you to resolve your issue. Luckily, it is a very easy fix.
Hopefully this helps! -
I keep getting the error message, problem loading page, even for firefox home! I need help, I hate explorer, I want my firefox back!
Certainly disable FlashPlayer in your plugins by using
* Firefox Button -> Add-ons -> | Plug-ins
You need to get Firefox working again before you are going to be able to do anything with Firefox.
See if you can get Firefox to open in [[safe mode]] noting that when you get a window with a list of options just click on continue.
Also have a look at the articles
* [[firefox hangs]]
* [[firefox is already running but is not responding]]
*[[managing the flash plugin]]
Sorry but at present there are many possible causes of your problem and you will need to try Firefox's SafeMode &/or some of the suggestions in those linked articles in order to narrow it down a bit. -
Hello,
I'm having a very difficult time with Firefox, it crashes every few minutes, this is just impossible to work...
My computer is perfectly fine, I've run memtest for 4 passes with no errors, Firefox is the only software crashing.
What should I do?
Thanks for your help.Me 2.
Firefox keeps crashing often without doing anything special.
Sometimes I have one only page open and I am not actively surfing when it crashes. And it definitely starts with 3.6.13. -
Firefox crashes on any page with flash. I have the most recent version of Firefox on OSX Snow Leopard. I have made sure that I have all the most recent plugins and extensions and I am not running any custom theme. I have completely un-installed and re-installed Firefox and flash to no avail. I think the problem is in some user preference, but I cannot seem to find it. If I log out and use a different user on my machine, Firefox does not have the flash crash problem.

??JYOuyang: I have the correct plugin for Flash. My problem is not the "Flash crashed" icon, which would be generally acceptable, but FIREFOX crashing, usually rather dramatically. I have since regressed to Firefor 3.6.3. I am still using Flash 10.1, the newest version. This no longer causes Firefox to crash. Now then -- if the same plugin causes no crashes in the new version of Firefox and does cause crashes in the prior version, it is not exactly a humongous leap to conclude that maybe, just maybe, there was a bug introduced in Firefox 3.6.4? I mean, it's not as if a major feature of 3.6.4 was a significant change in how plugins interact with the browser or anything... oh, wait, there was, wasn't there? Hmmm. Saying "It's Adobe's fault!" rings a little hollow when the 10.1 plugin works correctly in the prior version of Firefox. Any kind of host/plugin model relies on a contract between the host and the plugin, and when there's a crash, it indicates one side or the other broke that contract. Under the circumstances, it's difficult not to suspect the blame for this lies on the Firefox side. It's certainly possible that Adobe's code IS broken and the problem is that it SHOULD work with the new version of Firefox, if it were properly written, but it's not, so it doesn't. However, no one seems to want to dig down to find out or provide a workaround other than regressing to 3.6.3, so that's what I've done -- Firefox does too many other things right for me to switch browsers at this point.

How many bookmarks does my homepage support?
Hello,
I bookmark and it doesn't appear in my bookmarks list. Do I have too many bookmarks? How many am I allowed to save? If it is unlimited, where do I find the others? I have been having this problem when I click on the icon that allows me to automatically save a page. But, when I drag them to the toolbar, I then do see it listed.
Thanks,
DanI do not see the relationship between your title and your question.
There really aren't limits, where are you looking for the bookmarks.
What do you mean by your home page supporting bookmarks.
First let's make sure you know how the bookmarking works.
Bookmarking methods - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmarking_methods
When you use the Star to bookmark a page you can choose the folder it goes into.
There are three primary bookmark folders.
- Bookmarks Toolbar
- Bookmarks Menu
- Unsorted Bookmarks
You can see all of your bookmarks in the bookmarks sidebar ("Ctrl+B") or in the Library List ("Ctrl+Shift+B") and you can use search from the location bar, from the bookmarks side bar or from the Library List to find a bookmark.
If the page was bookmarked then the star becomes filled.

Firefox crashes when Panda Antivirus protection updates
I am running Firefox version 14.0.01 and have installed Panda Antivirus Protection 2012. I have used both Firefox and Panda happily for years but recently whenever I have any Firefox page open and Panda does an automatic update it crashes Firefox and I have to restart it.

Firefox crashes when too many images are opened
Okay, so, a problem that appeared in 4.0 for me, and hasn't gone away ever since.
The problem is basically summarized in the short description - whenever too many heavy images are in the browser's tabs simultaneously, it slows down to a halt; then sometimes as I scroll it fails to redraw the page, with black non-redrawn area increasing as I scroll and disappearing as I change tabs back and forth.
After a dozen seconds of such sad behaviour, the browser crashes.
Sometimes, however, things go better. And it just crashes.
The problem can be easily replicated with Save Images extension, say, on any photo hosting, or by opening
http://danvolodar.livejournal.com/friends/big_picture
It should be noted that 3.6 never had that problem, and opened pages where I aggregated thousands of images, - slowly, of course, but it ''did'' work. 4 and 5 do ''not''.Go to the address '''about:crashes''' and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.
Or you can go to '''Start''' and type in the Vista search box '''%APPDATA%''' then click on '''Roaming''' then go to '''Mozilla>Firefox>Crash Reports>Submitted''' then open the .txt files and copy the Crash report ID that starts with '''bp-xxxxx-xxxx''' -
I need to remove the default Firefox bookmarks.
There are way too many and none of which are usefull to me.
Also, I am vision impaired and reading through such a long list is very eye-fatigueing to me.
I would like to make my old IE Favorites folder the default. How can I do this?Did you import an iPhoto Library from the old Hard Drive? Do you still have that old Library?
The way to clear out a Library is to Export the photos - Apps like iPhoto2Disk or PhotoShare will help you export to a Folder tree matching your Events.
For the annoying start-up message:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder. -
Firefox crashes when too many (3) tabs/windows open
Firefox crashes if too many tabs (3) are opened, if 2 browser windows are open, in Yahoo mail (deleting npYState.dll did not fix it) and does not give me a crash report. Internet explorer is not having problems like this.

This happens when FireFox is not responding, and I want to close firefox with ctrl-alt-delete. Too many tabs can make Firefox crash. That is why I want to use ctrl-alt-delete to close FireFox. I tried finding a way to disable this, but I found no option to.
Ending the Firefox program or process with the Windows Task Manager "looks like" a crash. The proper way to exit Firefox is click Firefox button > Exit (or File > Exit, if using the Menu Bar).
